We stayed for 1 night, but will definitely be back for more. The guesthouse is tucked away and offers a real serene atmosphere and fantastic service. We arrived at night (a bit tricky to find, try arriving before dark if you can), and were greeted by super friendly Gary, he gave us the tour and some general info about the...

My husband and I traveled to Guesthouse Lost River for a quick weekend getaway after finding a great Living Social deal! We were excited for our upcoming stay due to all the great reviews that we read via Trip Advisor. Gary and Jesse were two outstanding hosts! They were very pleasant and went the extra mile to ensure that we...

After surviving the hectic holidays, I really wanted to book a mini vacation to unwind with my boyfriend and two of our closest friends. I found a fantastic deal on Livingsocial at what looked like a really quaint and charming lodge in the mountains of West Virginia. It was more than I expected, with several roaring fires throughout the property...

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at Lost River right before New Years and found it to be one of the best vacation experiences we have ever had. Gary and Jesse not only welcomed us into their homes, but treated us personally to every aspect of the vacation at dinner, drinks (Jesse was the bartender), a personalized tour...

I wanted to take my husband for a quick getaway to celebrate his birthday and pleasantly surprised at how wonderful our time was at the Guesthouse. We drove through the rain on Friday to arrive at a gorgeous and enormous log cabin with too many fireplaces to count! Gary welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property ending...

We were staying in a nearby cabin for the fourth of July and were told to check out the Lost River Guest House. They allowed us to use the pool as long as we ordered food and drink and gave guests priority for the chairs. It's a beautiful organic pool with a poolside par and drinks and food served to...

This was our first time to stay at the Guesthouse at Lost River. We were guests at a wedding that was held on-site. The staff could not have been more welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The property is perfectly situated on a hillside with vistas of the surrounding mountains. We stayed in one of the guest cottages with friends who were...

The rooms and public areas are very cozy, comfortable and welcoming, blending in with the surrounding beauty of the property perfectly. Particularly impressive is the staff, who are welcoming and go to any length to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. Whether it's just you, some friends, or a large group (wedding), you will not find a more...

West Virginia is a big place, and this B&B is located on the eastern edge of the state, not too much further out than Shenandoah National Park -- which makes it a convenient drive from DC (or at least more convenient than places deeper into the state). The atmosphere is laid back, and it's clear that Gary and Jesse care...
