About 10 miles 10-15 mins from the downtown Berkeley Springs. We noticed the closer to town the higher the prices tare. So this was a nice place to stay with at a decent rate. They have the lodge rooms, cabins and bungalows. We stayed in...More
We booked a last minute stay at Cacapon Resort State Park lodge for an anniversary trip and were so happy with our decision. If you are looking for a luxurious spa resort with gourmet meals, this is not the place for you. This park has...More
We stayed at the Cacapon Resort to celebrate our anniversary. It was so nice to be able to wake up and go hiking straight from the lodge, and the mountain laurels were in peak bloom. The lodge is cozy and reasonably priced, and the rooms...More
The golf course was beautiful and not crowded. The fairways and greens were a bit long, but the course was so peaceful, and worth playing. Rates were reasonable. The rest of the park is beautiful, and worth a day or overnight trip- they offer many...More
Stayed in bungalows.
Sized for 6. Fortunately on 3 since the weather is still cool to cold for Texans.
Lovely cabin. Stocked with cooking utensils and dishes for 6. The sounds of nature and silence are wonderful. Phone reception good. Wifi available at lodge.

West Virginia is one of the most beautiful places to spend time through October and even early November. Prime autumn weather and leaf-watching is of course the second weekend in October when rooms/cabins must be booked a year ahead of time. Sometimes the weather stays relatively nice until the middle of November, however, I have alternately experienced rainy, gray miserably cold weather as early as the 20th of October in that region. If you hit a long pleasant autumn with the amber coloring of leaves lasting until early November you are fortunate, but this is entirely unpredictable in one of the cloudiest areas of the United States. Honestly, when I am lodging at Cacapon in the fall, rain or shine, I enjoy a nice warm fire in the fireplace and the wonderful meals at the Lodge dining room. Best to reserve a 2nd floor lodge room with a full unobstructed view.
