Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Marjory is more expensive than other hotels in the area but the experience is far better. Good staff, clean, and modern. Compared to other hotels in the area, it definitely stands out. I stay here for business

Arrived very late from East Coast. Hotel shuttle had stopped running. Called hotel and front desk associate, Ryan, arranged for UBer type service to pick me up and deliver to hotel. Another example of Marriott going the extra mile. Kudos…..

Mixed review. I like how the hotel has been recently refurbished. But my complaints come from that as a disabled traveler. This is obviously an older building, and the one single elevator is located in the middle of the back hallway. It should have built near the lobby, and this makes it extremely inconvenient for EVERYONE, not just those of us who are using canes, crutches and wheelchairs. The new beds are too high off the floor. The bed in the guest room was even higher than the bed I have at home. They’re great for pro-basketball players, but not for short women and kids. The top of the mattress reaches the top of my thigh. Need a step stool to get up. I wish that hotels would do away with these stupid duvet covers. They’re horrible for couples, especially for those of us with night sweats/hot flashes and overly warm partners. Finally, I’m not a fan of Courtyards in the first place because of the breakfast set-up. I don’t want to have to pay extra to Starbucks for a horrible limited breakfast menu.

The facilities are recently done over I think, it's quite lovely. HOWEVER;... The room is equipped with 'energy saving' thermostatic control on the heating/cooling in the room and, when not occupied, no cooling. Now...when the room is entered, the air conditioning begins, but then shuts off. Turns out, the infared detector on the thermostat is blocked by the giant flat screen tv...Great TV, but no air conditioning so it is a bit warm! The plumbing makes a great deal of noise randomly. GIven that Courtyard is a step up from other Marriott properties, I have been quite disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this during summer months, and likely during winter since the thermostat controls both heat, and cooling. Not much of a savings in my opinion if the clients rule the property out, even though the HVAC savings are baked in. Won't be coming back again......

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Philadelphia and return. Our stay on arrival was fine. We got an Executive King Bed on the garden level. On the return we had a problem with the shuttle pick up. We did get to the hotel but it took us over 45 minutes to an hour to get to the hotel from the airport. When we checked in, as Titanium members we got a 3rd floor Executive King Bed. Quiet room. The manager did give us some Bonvoy points for our inconvenience with the shuttle. The Bistro staff in the evening and in the early morning were just great.

Booked an 8 day stay here and I am a platinum elite rewards member. Specific account requests are top floor and not by an elevator. I am in a room right by an elevator but the horribly loud noise is mainly because I was put directly by the unbelievably loud ice machine. I verbally requested a room on the top floor but I was told there wouldn’t be anyone in the room above me because the hotel was nearly empty. I was kept up half the night from people walking above my room that very same night. The same room a platinum elite was not afforded and the same room the desk clerk said would be empty my whole stay. No respect for my loyalty to the Marriott brand and even less customer service in general. Horribly loud hotel and I would recommend staying elsewhere. If your flying, there are many hotels closer to the airport.

Checked into the hotel with a nice young lady at the front desk. Room was clean, location was great. Went and had dinner with my cousin whom I'd never met before at Claim Jumper not too far from this location. Make a quick stop at Walmart filled my rental up and came back to work and relax. This is where things go downhill, I stepped outside on my 3rd floor patio around 10:55p to meditate before going to bed. As soon as the patio door closed it clicked but I didn't panic because there was no way the door just locked. There's nothing stating this is an auto-locking door. After 15 minutes meditating and I stand up to unlock the door and boom! Nothing....its' locked. I call downstairs to advise the front desk of the issue and was advised this happens often and housekeeping would be up shortly. Okay fine 10 minutes at most and I’ll be able to get some sleep and prepare for my early morning flight back home. Nope not the case about 15 minutes pass and the housekeep drives by in her car to let me know they are working on it. 11:34p I call back downstairs and I’m advised they are having trouble getting in because my room door is double locked. 11:44p I receive a call from the receptionist advising me they are still working on opening the door and they may try the adjoining door from the other room. 12:04a I receive a call they their “engineer” has been called out to assist. When I asked how long that would be I was placed on hold, I merged the call with my husband whose in Texas because he’s concerned at this point. 12:08a I receive a call from Jacob (I believe) advising me they are still working on the issue. When I asked how long it would be before his “engineer” was there I was advised they don’t have an “engineer”. I then asked what would they do if I was in the room injured, he advise they would call 911 and at this point this is what he was willing to do since they had no other option to get me off this patio. 12:10a I called 911 myself because my husband wasn’t convinced the hotel would. Of course I call and there hadn’t been a call before mine, I provided all of my contact information and explained the scenario to the 911 operator. At 2:34a I was finally off the patio thanks to the police and fire department, 2:50a I was in a new room. There was never an apology offered other than from the fire fighter who wanted to ensure I didn’t need their service, when getting the new key from the receptionist downstairs they offered a discount on my room but that was unacceptable. All of this could have been avoided with a simple sticker advising this door auto locks. Marriott has to do something to right this situation with me.

Responded 19 Jul 2022
Hello Dansbyc- Thank you for reaching to us. I am very sorry about this experience at my property. We had never had anyone experience this at the property. This is something that was new and the staff was not properly trained on this situation. We have gone over what everyone needs to do in the future to help if this does occur again. Please reach out directly to the property so we can help assist you with further compensation. Again we are very sorry about this situation.

I chose to stay at this hotel because of its location near the Wesfield Southcenter Mall. I was pleasantly surprised by the renovations. The room was clean and quiet. I am especially appreciative of the front desk staff, Khalid N., who took time from his busy schedule to patiently help me with printing a boarding pass. He is really stellar and the type of staff that any hotel can be proud of. Kudos.

My family stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend. The check in process was very smooth, and we thought our rooms were very nice. The hotel has an airport shuttle which we used when we arrived, but we had to return to the airport via taxi since we departed before it began running at 6am. Our booking included breakfast which was ordered off a small menu from the lobby bar. It was pretty good (breakfast quesadilla was a top option), but our last morning we had to leave early before they opened, and unfortunately the hotel was not able to offer us any type of breakfast for us to take along to the airport. The hotel does have a nice courtyard where we were able to hang out and have some drinks. Only a block from the hotel is the Southcenter Mall which has lots of restaurants to choose from along with the typical mall shopping experience.

I always love Marriott, so when we were looking for a hotel close to the Westfield South Center mall, I checked if there was a Marriott around. So happy when I found out there is one. We stayed here at two different times. We were there for an Alaskan Cruise and we decided to fly two days early and stayed three days after to meet some of our friends. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Airport Shuttle! Very convenient! I don't have to worry about calling an Uber or Taxi. They also drop you off to the mall or any places close by. - Ten minutes from the airport. - Big rooms and lots of space to move around even with our big luggages. - Big bathroom. I have my mom with me who is in her 70s and this helps a lot with her. - Separate sink! I always like it when the sink is outside the bathroom. It helps a lot when we are all preparing to go out. We don't need to wait for the other person to come out of the bathroom just so you can wash your face and brush your teeth. - Very close to other stores and the mall! This helped when we came back and stayed here again. We didn't want to go anywhere else and just wanted to rest. - Laundry! yes, we didn't want to go out the first day, so we decided to do our laundry from the cruise. LOL Cons: - Hotel Shuttle: yeah, I know...but this one is because our flight was so early that we have to call an Uber instead to get to the airport. I wish their Airport Shuttle starts earlier than 6am. - There was a couple of ladies who drove us that we were not fond of. First one didn't help us with our luggage. We were struggling too. Remember we have a senior with us that needs assistance too. The second lady was driving like she needs to go so bad...like need to do number 2 or something. We didnt' appreciate that. That's mostly it. We chose not to get housekeeping in our room since we can make our own bed and re-use our towels. We did meet a wonderful lady, and I forgot her name, she helped us with our TV and brought us a microwave. When she spilled my coffee by accident she replaced all the beddings on my bed. We appreciate her. There's this other lady who was very nice. She checked us in early when we came back from our cruise. She dropped us off at the mall too. Very very nice lady. I should have gotten her name. She and the housekeeper was the best employee we encountered there. I would come back and stay at this hotel again.
