We have stayed at Above the Sound 5 times in each time has been an outstanding experience! Bill and Cindy are great host and they go out of their way to see that everything go great for us. The downstairs is where we have stayed and it is soooooo relaxing after a day of visiting family and site seeing. Breakfast...

We found ourselves in need of a room for a last-minute one night stay in the Steilacoom area. We lucked out by getting a room at the Above the Sound B & B! And I do mean lucked out! It was such a lovely place! I had read the reviews here and they were all quite enthusiastic so I felt...

I will second the recent comment that Bill is the most friendly, accommodating host we have ever had at a property. He went out of his way to make sure that everything was o.k. for us. This place is a great find in Steilacoom--despite the touristy nature of the town, there isn't much of a choice for an overnight stay,...

What a stay. Just feel I have to add to all the other good reviews. We had the smaller upstairs room but we did get a quick tour of the larger downstairs suite. Highlights: Super friendly hosts. A ferry tour to nearby vashon island recommended by Bill. The breakfast was beautiful. Coffee and scones were terrific. Nice gardens and setting....

The couple that own this B&B, Bill & Cindy, live on site. They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they made our stay there exceptional. Bill has perfected the dishes he serves for breakfast. They are very high quality, and are time tested. We were a mere mile or so from Fort Lewis. Our son...

Delightful is the word that comes to mind about this B&B. Absolutely delightful would better describe the experience. The accomodations are very comfortable and inviting. We stayed in the two bedroom downstairs apartment which is eclectically furnished with memorabilia and reminders of the rustic outdoors. The gardens are charming and the proprietors, Bill and Cindy, are the perfect hosts who...

What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the small apartment downstairs available with a living room, two bedrooms - one, a Master with a kingsize bed and one with two twins. The garden is just lovely, creative and whimsical. A great place to sit with morning coffee. The shower was easy to use - the towels thick. I...

We would highly recommend this B&B! Guests have their choice of a 2 bedroom suite with a separate living area or a single bedroom with private bath. We chose the latter and it was beautifully decorated. Loved the double sink in the bathroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was served in a beautiful sun room. It was very...

Very nice B&B, pleasant and comfy & clean. Decor was soothing, and bed super comfortable. I had the upstairs room adjacent to the sunroom, which is where breakfast is served & which has a beautiful view & where I had access to a small frig as well. Bill & Cindy were so accomodating and Bill seemed to go the extra...

“There are only two rooms. The large one is a suite that works great for a family scenario which is the whole downstairs of this house, and is private. The smaller room is also very nice, but is simply a bedroom with a full private bathroom.”

“The Suite downstairs has a kingsized bed in a Master Bedroom - manly man cave. The twin beds were in a room that caught the morning light - which I loved. Feminine décor, but I think it can be tweaked when Bill and Cindy know MEN are coming.”
