Wow, Sink drained onto the carpet, toilet ran continually, fridge had towel frozen in it to catch the drips but was froze up so not usable, so many candies, dirt, debris and popcorn under the bed (looked like it had never been vacuumed since the day of opening). A night of hell. Phoned front desk throughout the night and all that was said we will send a maintenance person in the morning. They did not do that they had the front desk lady come and pound on our door at 7:30 in the morning just to wake us up not to fix anything. The manger never wanted to speak with us about a reduction or how they could make it better for us. We should have never left the place until we demanded to speak to the manger as our credit card got two charges on it and the on and on. This place does not care about your stay they just want your money and get out. Thought that the price we paid we would at least have a nice continental breakfast, not the case. I would not recommend this place if it was the last place to stay. I would stay in my car or got hang at Sheri's Restaurant and eat all night before staying here. We are very laid back people and could of put up with something but this was horrible. We video the water pouring out of the bottom of the sink so our families didn't think we were kidding them. :( We told them we would leaving a poor review and they didn't care! That says alot.
First room smelled like someone just finished smoking. Air conditioner did not work in second room. Requested someone to fix it. Waited one hour then went across street to see if room available at Motel 6. Requested refund for my two nights. Refund refused so was sent to third room. Smelled but not as bad as first room. This place was absolutely a dump.
I am one of the people that always read reviews before going to a new hotel. We had pre-planned our girls weekend away, but unfortunately our hotel room at a different hotel was given away previous to us arriving on Friday evening. We tried 5 other hotel and motels before finding a room at the Econolodge at ~2:15am Saturday morning. We were scheduled to arrive in Spokane at midnight but of course we had delays along the way.
When we arrive we were told the room rate was $139 plus tax. We are from Canada which ended up being a $200 charge. (I know I can’t help the exchange)
To make this easier I will use point form from now on.
- our sink leaked gushing water onto the carpet - the toliet ran all evening (the 4 hours we tried to sleep) - the carpet was NOT clean whatsoever - the fridge had a towel in it and didn’t work - there was ONE towel for my friend and I to share in the morning
I talked to the front desk once at 2:30am they said someone would be by in the morning to fix the sink and toilet (no one came)
They also said I would be charged a lower rate
I was charged $124.10 on August 18, 2018
In the morning at 8:30am we checked out
I stated all of the previous issues. I was told my card would NOT be charged until the manager spoke with me. Even though the owner was there at the time of my complaint he stayed silent.
After 48 hours I call Econolodge and I am told the night manager will call me back. Of course I needed to keep calling until I spoke with someone at 11:30pm.
The manager was unavailable when I finally was able to speak to someone. They promised me I would be charged $70 for my stay.
Yesterday I looked at my certified card statement.
Aug 18 -124.10 Aug 19 - 70.00 Aug 19 - -35 (this amount was taken off?)
All together $159.10 were my charges after my 6 hour stay.
I called the hotel AGAIN then they said they would have someone contact me. They did NOT ask for my phone number. They assured me I could not have been double billed.
The hotel is very old and dated. You could spit through the sheets because they were so thin and the blankets were old and ratty, very much like the blanket I give my dog to sleep on! The wifi didn’t work at all and we got no help from the desk clerk. There were several long dark hairs in the bathtub (which we did not even use). The outside was very poorly lit, there were lights around the property but few of them worked.
I had a fridge in the room that was making such a loud racket and did not have an on/off dial. I unplugged the fridge but was concerned that the solid ice block inside freezer compartment would thaw out spilling water all over the floor/carpet. I placed a towel inside and then reported this issue to the person at the desk in person. This person appeared to be the manager and did not tell me otherwise. I even offered that it would be okay to remove the fridge from the room entirely. The man said “just leave it” with a very unpleasant attitude. For three more days the fridge remained as is in my room. Room service came in the first morning replacing towels but did not make the bed. The second morning they threw the covers up on bed in half attempt of making the bed and no towel replacements. By the third day I had to use all the towels and washcloths to sop up the thawing ice. I managed to break away the ice glacier and dispose of it in the sink. Room service did not remove or replace the towels leaving me totally without for my last evening there. Continental breakfast was dismal and coffee was lousy! This visit was for purpose of visiting my sister in the hospital so would have been nice to start each day with a decent cup of coffee. This place charged over $100 per night for this lousy service and attitude. My advise is stir clear of this place.
