We had a wonderful, relaxing two-night stay in this charming, quaintly-furnished home on Skamokawa Creek. Spent the day in Astoria and arrived at the inn just before dinner time. Kathleen was warm and welcoming and had some just-from-the-oven shortbread cooling and waiting for us. The grounds are very nice and well kept. The inn is furnished with comfy antiques and...

We had a perfect stay, thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of the owner. We arrived late after deciding to stay in Astoria for dinner, and Kathleen was not only awake and ready to greet us, but there were fresh baked cookies on the bed stand. Breakfast was hearty and healthy, and she sent us off with a bottle of...

The Inn is a lovely, well-kept 1890-something house on the banks of the large Skamokawa Creek, and just a hundred or two hundred yards or so away from mouth of Creek as it drains into the Columbia. The view across the creek isn't picturesque (run down metal buildings and derelict boats on the shore), but the Inn's grounds are wonderfully...

This is a charming house which can be reached by car or boat as it overlooks the creek that opens up onto the river. The house is very inviting, both inside and outside on the porch. The host was delightful but unassuming and provided a Delicious breakfast. It is located right in "town." If you are looking for a quiet,...

We just experienced one of the best bed and breakfast lodgings anyone could hope for. Known as 'Twin Gables Bed & Breakfast Inn', which can be booked both independently or through the Airbnb platform, it is situated just off Washington State Hwy 4 in the small locale of Skamokawa (pronounced 'skaw•MOCK•away') beside a small river of the same name. Its...

Wow Allen, Thank you for your very kind comments! Just want to add that we do offer dinners (and lunches, for here or to go) with advance notice. You can enjoy a dinner here, or we can pack a lunch for a kayak adventure. Thanks so much for staying with us - and hope to see you again! Kathleen

We arrived after dark, but Kathleen had left the light on and a plate of macaroons was waiting for us. We didn't find tea, but there was coffee and fresh cream in the fridge. In the morning, Kathleen cooked up a huge breakfast for us and filled us in on some of the historical details of the Inn. Thanks for...

My Husband and I got away for the night and were delighted to find a quaint, tranquil bed and breakfast to stay. The accommodations were clean and well taken care of. We were well taken care of. The breakfast was also phenomenal. We hope to return with our kayaks and venture out on some of the nearby waterways.

Lovely place to stay in charming and tranquil Skamokawa. House was spotless, well-equipped for cooking and spacious enough for four adults. Sofa bed was comfortable and provided an excellent night's rest. Delicious macaroons, freshly ground coffee and cream were a thoughtful surprise. Kathleen was welcoming and warm. Would highly recommend this wonderful B&B to anyone passing through the area. We...

This was our second stay at Twin Gables....first time staying in a room and second visit in the apartment. Loved both visits. Hosts are very welcoming and the breakfast is excellent. The location was perfect for our family reunion which takes place at the park across the street. We look forward to returning.

Charming & relaxing. Hosts went above and beyond to be welcoming. Breakfast was delicious & huge! Homemade macarons were waiting in our room when we arrived and a fresh, hot pot of coffee was waiting outside our door when we awoke. Room was exceptional and very comfortable. Located on a quiet canal. Only a 5 minute walk to the Columbia...
