Hotel Packwood was such a unique experience that I could almost feel I was in the wild west. Cluttered, quirky but very clean, with a large veranda and elk roaming the grounds. Owner is helpful and gave good advice but was not an overwhelming presence. It is so cheap that we were worried but it really is the bargain of...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Packwood last fall. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed our time visiting with the owners and also the nightly parade of elk in front of the hotel. The location is great for hiking Mt Rainier and exploring the sites nearby. We had such a great stay here...

Very welcoming, homey, clean atmosphere. Lovely verandah for sitting outside. Small but comfortable and cozy rooms. Great rate. Owner seems to go the extra mile to keep guests happy and comfortable. Gave us good advice for dining and touring.

I was a little hesitant to reserve, especially since the price was so low. But the Hotel Packwood turned out to be a great choice. We had a room with a private bath. The room was tiny, but very clean and comfortable. Our room and bath were recently remodeled, simple but attractive. The common areas were quirky but fun. Folks...

A great place to stay if your trip incudes Mount Rainer and Mount Saint Helen as Packwood sits conveniently between the two. Rooms were very pleasant and the shared bathrooms were spacious and easily accessible. Owner and her dog, Jed, were a delight. Caution: Be careful of over-eager state police outside of town. Posted speed limit is only 55 even...

We wanted to do a short overnight trip and chose to ride our motorcycles to Packwood WA and stay at this hotel because of its location. When we arrived we were quickly met by Jed, the resident dog and official greeter. We were able to check in before 2pm and then left for a ride up to Windy Ridge for...

The hotel was like traveling back in time to an earlier age. Everywhere was clean and the lady owner was so lovely, friendly and extremely caring. The only downer is that there isn't a bathroom in each room, but as we were her only guest that night, for us it wasn't a problem, if the hotel had been full I...

This is my second time staying at Hotel Packwood. This historic gem is convenient, clean and comfy. You can't beat the price. My husband and I stayed in a double with a private bath. The owners are wonderfully hospitable and have us great suggestions for a perfect day at My. Rainier. There are not a lot of restaurant options in...

On short notice of only an hour, with the weather socking me in at Mt. Rainier National Park, I called the Hotel Packwood to see if they could shelter me from the storm! Why yes, no problem, was owner Marilyn's cheery answer! On arrival, Marilyn welcomed me with stories from the 1912 founding of the property and President Teddy Roosevelt's...
