While traveling through Whidbey Island, we stayed at the Auld Holland Inn in Oak Harbor. The Inn is right on the highway in the north part of town. It is an older property. But has been nicely maintained. Our room felt fresh and clean (very important to me). The Lobby had a conti

Don’t stay here if you can stay elsewhere. The facilities ARE right next to a trailer park that these people own. The flight pattern from the base is right overhead and you can’t hear yourself think. The pool is not operational. The refrigerator in my room was yellow from age. T

Dear Susan, I would like to take the time to address your concerns personally. The mobile units that are in the back of property are used as a simple stay for contractors that come into the area to work temporarily. They are placed by reputable company's and are part of our stay here on the property. Being a military town and yes being in the flight pattern for our military jets to train we have become accustomed to the sound. We call it the "sound of freedom" but we do have ear buds in the front office for those who need them. We do have a pool and though it is not operable it is kept safe and the area clean until we have made the necessary fixes. We also state that it is not operable on all of our internet sites. The refrigerator that was in your suite though a bit worn I can guarantee that it is very clean and the color is an off white. ( we are in the process of upgrading all of our rooms which will include replacing the carpets and the wallpaper, and we are exited about the rejuvenation). I am very surprised by your review, we truly attempted to accommodate above and beyond. Though we are advertised as a non- pet friendly hotel you brought your puppy in to the room with out our knowledge, we attempted to find you another place to stay which you refused to leave. Your pet urinated and pooped on our carpet, which we had to put the room out of order for 4 days to call in our carpet cleaners and our cleaning team to disinfect the room. Your behavior towards our front desk staff was so unkind, they stayed professional at all times with you. I normally read my constructive reviews and start out with an apology but thought that the truth should be told if you are going to take the time to review the Inn in a negative light that is not deserving, I believe that I should respond with honesty. The reason you were asked to leave the hotel is because you did not comply with our no pet policy. I am very appreciative to the company that placed you here, they did help in compensating for the damage left in our suite. I wish you well in your travels. The Innkeeper

We spent one night here on our road tour of Whidbey Island. Celebrating my parents 60th Anniversary as they had honeymooned on Whidbey 60 years ago. They kindly upgraded us to a beautiful double-queen room at no extra charge. The "Continental Breakfast" was so much more than expe

Does the inn allow pets? We are traveling with a cat.
Do the rooms have an iron and ironing board, or can you request one from the front desk?
We do have ironing boards and irons in the front office for our guests needs.

Are there cribs or pack and plays for guests to use during their stay?
I have never commented on the "reviews" of guests, however JA Morris is not telling the truth. The Auld Holland Inn has NEVER served bagels, ever. The breakfast consists of fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, a massive verity of cereals, several different pastries, protein bars three different juices, coffee, tea and hot coco. The rooms are clean and neat and the beds are brand new, moved in to the hotel in April. I have no issues when someone states a problem with something that is accurate, but when it is a bold faced lie, I will confront that lie.
The individual that put this comment in about the bagels for breakfast is incorrect. The carpets are cleaned by a professional often. The beds, for the most part, are brand new. Never have we had bagels in our hotel. As far as the fruit is concerned, we try to have different fruits but will not purchase something that is not quality. This guest was fully refunded without hesitation. It takes 7-10 business days for the bank (guests bank) to pick up the transaction and place it back into the account. The hotel is recommended by Triple A, which does annual inspections of all of the hotels in their books. These inspections are blind, meaning they come without warning and see what they want to see. We don't just "pick a room". If they find that a hotel is as bad as this individual says, it would be removed from the list. We are currently in their book. We try to make the experience with us as smooth as possible, but, as with anything, stuff happens. Our staff has been highly recommended by almost everyone that comes into contact with us. I am sorry that guest had a bad experience with our hotel, but I am proud of our staff and proud of how we attempt to make a wrong not so wrong.
