DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The mansion was a great one in it's time. We stayed on Saturday night checked in around four pm then we left, we came back around 9pm and noticed our room was dirty; trash left in the waste basket a used bar of soap complete with hair, lights missing out of lamps. We roamed around the...

Travelling north on Interstate 5, my sister and I pulled off at Longview, WA to find a place to sleep overnight. A quick search on TripAdvisor (thank you smart phone) pointed us to the #1 B&B in Longview, Rutherglen Mansion. Our GPS guided us all the way through the city ending at an enormous industrial park on the western side...

How to write a review of this historic place that isn't too long will be difficult for me. I won't say "Don't Stay Here!!" and I won't say "Stay Here!!" because the experiences vary widely according to the reviews here. We DID stay here for one night because my husband was born in Longview and this place played a unique...

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Let me start by saying our room was very nice, a bit worn but spacious. This is where the good report ends. I had specifically emailed Joy to ask about breakfast. I have learned from other places that this can vary from what is indicated on websites. I received a very detailed response from Joy that...

A few days ago business brought us to Longview. I called early in the morning, around 7:00 am and requested two rooms for one night. I asked when I could check-in and the very nice lady said a room was ready and I could come in any time and would also be served breakfast. Thank you so much Rutherglen! I...

While on a week-long tour of Oregon and Washington, we stayed 4 nights at the Rutherglen Mansion in Longview, WA. Longview is north of Portland, Oregon, about an hour or a little more. It's not far from Mt. St. Helen's either. There were four of us in total, and we had 2 rooms reserved. The Mansion was pretty easy to...

We four were the only guests so had the large empty house to ourselves. The host disappeared after greeting us. It was like 'The Shining'- a large old house with locked doors, squeaky floors, empty kitchen, a third floor with pews set up. We asked for breakfast for 7:30 am as we had a long drive the next day. At...

We enjoyed the wine, the food, the service, and the view. What else could you ask for. It was one of the finest dinning experience that we have ever had. Can not wait to go to a Wednesday wine tasting. WOW!!!

We just spent the evening at Rutherglen Mansion because the photo looked so promising, but we should have headed the Trio Advisor negative reviews. Although the owner, Rueben, made every effort to be accommodating , the Mansion is way past its prime. We were traveling with friends and took 2 rooms. They were spacious, but worn and poorly maintained. The...

My 9-year-old daughter and I came up from Portland to the Rutherglen for one night. We loved it! The beds were nice and comfy, so we got a good night's rest. Rueben greeted us at our table and made lively conversation with us. We wanted to talk to him some more! The staff was wonderful (thank you April) and dinner...

“Any room probably requires a little forgiveness for age and dust and decor gaffs, but we stayed in "The Green Room." The coffeemaker did work, the room is spacious, and the tile is a masterpiece in the bathroom & fireplace (gas--it worked great).”
