Very good location, great price, the owner is a very kind man. If you are looking for a 5 stars resort this is the wrong place for you. My friends and I stayed for one night and we enjoyed our stay. We definitely would stay again!

Good price and location. The owner was interesting to speak with, but his political views made known, and he didn't seem to be interested in hearing any other view points. This is the only hostel that I have ever stayed at, but I can't imagine many are like this. It is the owners house that is cluttered and not clean,... More

The owner is a really nice easygoing man who likes to chat and tell stories of the Olympic Peninsula. Beds are comfortable, although more cleanliness would be desirable. The garden and the surrounding woods are really beautiful, with Ruby beach less than 5 min drive.

From other reviews, I was unsure about staying here. We have stayed in other hostels before and understand that they are budget. The accommodations were basic, but fine. The location is very quiet and peaceful. We were able to cook our own food and worked in the garden in the morning. Jim was a great host and made us feel... More

The hostel is basically an old house where the owner rents his 2 extra rooms filled with bunks. - the house is around 10 miles from Forks - its clean, but there were house spiders in the bathroom all the time. - NO WIFI or cellphone signal (at least verizon) - you MUST do a 15 minutes chord for everynight... Thanks to Jim for his hospitality Basically he has two rooms in his house converted with bunkbeds and a double bed. Whats not to like? Cheap. Good location. You get first hand info about local sights. Jim is an interesting character. Isn't life about meeting different people? Chores - exercise is good for you. Nice wood fire on a cold... More

This hostel is an old run down cluttered home of the owners, where he has several rooms with bunk beds for travelers. At $10 + a 15 minute chore per day, it is quite a bargain. It's like walking into an old home from the 1960's that never got updated. The bathroom is clean and the bed was decent. The... More

We stayed one night and I would go back. It brought back memories of the sixties when people "flopped" at other peoples houses. Old run down farm houses were highly sought after. The political views were hotly debated and most people tried to care about each other. Jim was a neat guy and introduced me to some interesting books on... More

I really don't know what people are complaining about -- $10 a night! A hostel in Mexico is $12, the beach campground just down 101 is $18, the Elwa Valley campground $12, state campgrounds $22 -- get real. This is way better than a leaking tent in the rain.
