Reposting because I had a major typo in the title of the original: I adore this B&B! Charles and Jill make amazing breakfasts and are willing to accommodate food preferences/allergies. The breakfasts were a homemade pastry, a hot dish (rosti, frittata), fruit, and excellent coffee. The dining room has beautiful natural light even in the winter. Since we were there... More

Charles and Jill were perfects hosts- interesting and very accommodating. Breakfasts were always oh-so tasty and our room, Goldfinch, was comfortable and unique. The common area had an old world feel, the reading room with shelves of books and games and the lounge had a grand fireplace with kindling and split logs at the ready. It felt a club for... More

This property started life as a hotel so it easily morphed into a B&B. Beautiful leaded windows and antiques abound, but the en suite baths are updated. Our hosts met and exceeded our request for a protein rich breakfast which was wonderfully made and presented in a cheery room where windows revealed hummers feeding next to us. 24 hour tea... More

Companion & I were impressed with 'The Kangaroo House.'  We arrived earlier then check in time (due to Ferry Schedule) but were warmly welcomed.  The proprietors, Charles & Jill know the island well and can answer all inquiries.  We were particularly interested in several hikes & Charles knew them all, in depth.  Their love of the Inn was apparent from their sincere enthusiasm of their... Besides the great food Charles served for breakfast, I found the rooms to be very comfortable with a different theme for each one. The history of the Inn is amazing and the guest lounge is so comfortable. Thank you so much for the tour.

Looking for amazing food prepared by thoughtful, friendly inn keepers? Look no farther than the Kangaroo House! We wanted a centrally located spot on Orcas Island near the village of Eastsound. Our hosts gave great advice for dining and directions to adventures.

My husband and I stayed at Kangaroo House for two nights. It is conveniently located in Eastsound and within walking distance to the center of town. It is near the airport as a previous reviewer stated, but we only heard planes overhead when we were outside. Charles and Jill are wonderful hosts and are extremely helpful and happy to interact... Wonderful B&B! Jill and Charles are great hosts! Food was great and the place was so comfy. The inn is a pleasant 10 minutes walk to town. Charles and Jill had great hiking, whale watching and kayaking advice as well as great dinner recommendations. I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed the Kangaroo House, it's hosts, and Orcas Island. Shearwater... More

The Kangaroo House has everything a great B&B should! The rooms are adorable, clean, and comfortable, and the service is outstanding. The owners, Charles and Jill, get to know each and every one of the people visiting and are always willing to help answer any questions. And, of course, the breakfasts are just amazing. Every morning, you are cooked a... More

My wife and I spent two nights at the Kangaroo House B&B in August 2016. The house is a big old craftsman with lots of comfortable sofas and nice lighting. Our room (one of 5) was clean and comfortable. The hot tub has a reservation system, so you can have it to yourself for 45 minutes. Charles and Jill put... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This historic Craftsman Bungalow was built as a vacation hotel by a stone mason in 1907. In a later incarnation, colorful resident and steamship captain, "Cap" Ferris brought a baby orphaned kangaroo to live with him and his family. The locals dubbed the sprawling lodge the "Kangaroo House" Since then it has become a B&B and is the longest continually operating bed & breakfast in the San Juan Islands. We have 5 Rooms/Suites, all with Private Bathrooms, King or Queen beds and some with additional beds and DVD players/movies, Free WiFi, Garden Hot Tub, and an exceptional, filling, breakfast made from scratch including wholesome, local fruits, meats, vegetables and herbs from Orcas Island's own farms and gardens. ... more   less
