For such an amazing history and old world charm bathhouse, Carson's Hot Springs continues to go downhill - unable to adapt to constant management changes, surly desk staff - including and most often distraught managers. With our a reservation system, I've called and driven out to be told no spaces left. Why not tell the caller that the slots are limited and will be filled in the next hour because of a waitlist? Why not use the software that would make the place safer and more efficient? I used to love Carson's put it is in need of management and a lesson in hospitality.

We stayed in a room over the weekend and did not use any other facilities, but this place was awesome! We got a hot tub room and hardly ever even left the tub! So relaxing! Beautiful view of the forest. VERY clean room and hot tub. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Already have recommended it to friends. Very cute little town nearby with great restaurants! Like others have said, it’s not a luxury hotel, and I was actually expecting it to be a lot more run down by other reviews, but it was a really nice place! Super fun and relaxing weekend!

My wife and I chose this place for a getaway during the 2020 virus restrictions. A selling point for us was that we could get a room with a private hot tub filled with the natural hot spring water. They also have a chlorinated group pool, (masks required) and spa facilities with private bathtubs. Our room was clean and spacious. It had a refrigerator, coffee pot, and TV. No microwave. Hot tub on the balcony with a serene view. The deadbolt on our room was not functional. This was mentioned in another review also so it may be wise to bring a supplemental locking device if that is a concern. We used a stout blackthorn walking stick wedged under the door handle to discourage unauthorized entry. Hot tubbing on our balcony was very nice and met our expectations. Initial temperature was 104 F. Temperature gradually decreased over our two night stay and was at 95 F during our last soak on the morning of our departure. There were temperature controls on the tub but the maximum selectable temperature kept going down. We chose not to use the housekeeping services, and it is possible that they could have refilled with fresh hot water had we asked. No on-site dining. Golf course restaurant is close but we didn’t use it. Coffee pot served for a couple of instant noodle breakfasts in the room, and we also brought in other food from a local deli and food truck. We didn’t use the group pool or spa facilities this time, but look forward to doing so on future visits, after the virus commotion has died down.

The tubs are great. The hotel is way over priced. Most of the staff are not wearing their mask. Customers children running all over the place. No mask on most visitors.Several issues with the room. Extremely hot even with A/C. Several lights not working. Front dead bolt lock not working. Unexplained charge on VISA. Still waiting for explanation, which they seem to be avoiding after several phone calls.

My wife and I were looking for something different for our anniversary, and we settled on this place because of the description and images on Trip Advisor. I sent her the link and she followed up. We loved the idea of soaking in a mineral-water hot tub right on the balcony deck of our room, surrounded by lush forest... She couldn't get the website to work for a reservation, so she made our reservation through Booking.com, which offered what seemed like a great rate. When she called the property to confirm and ensure we were getting the correct room type, she was told that they did receive the reservation, but the rate was higher than what she'd booked, so when we arrived we'd have to pay the difference. We didn't consider this red flag serious enough, and looked forward to our trip anyway. When we arrived, and my wife went into the office to check in, then we headed for our accommodations. She didn't mention to me until later that upon check-in, payment for the entire stay was due up front, and the property also required a refundable $250 security deposit. We arrived at our room, and yes, there was a hot tub on the balcony, but most of the trees we looked out upon were stripped of branches - just bare, knotty trunks - with more forest further behind. There was some kind of maintenance facility just off to one side which looked like it hadn't been maintained in decades - rust, debris on the roof, unexpected and unfortunate. The king bed was lumpy and old, and the fitted sheet was ripped and discolored on its corners at the foot of it. The carpet had numerous discolorations and one of the chairs had unstable legs which would have broken underneath one of us had we sat in it and not checked (it wobbled when we put a bag of luggage on it, so it seemed to need a better look). We decided to watch a movie on Netflix and cook some popcorn, but we didn't see a microwave in the room. We called down to the office and they confirmed that the rooms didn't come with microwaves but we could rent one from the desk for an additional fee (in their defense, we didn't check for this when we reserved, but even budget motels have them, so we just kind of assumed). My wife went down to the office to microwave two bags of popcorn. But then we discovered that the internet access didn't have a password (wasn't secure), and we had to step out of the room to get a signal, which - once back in - wasn't strong enough to maintain the connection. So we sat in the tub and relaxed (once night fell, the disappointing view wasn't an issue), which was nice. We didn't sleep well (the bed wasn't very good and our neighbors were noisy) but we decided to make the best of it for the rest of our stay. The nearby town of Stevenson is charming, and had some decent restaurants, and the mineral spring spa pool at the resort was enjoyable, and the staff were friendly. Reading the reviews, it seems that people either love the place or are deeply disappointed; my recommendation is to read them ALL very carefully and decide for yourself.
