The hotel was spotless and the staff where super nice. The breakfast was delicious I will be coming back to this location really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was also super close to a Greek place called Romas the food was amazing.
Room was nice. Breakfast items that we’re supposed to be hot were cold! Pancake’s inedible. Could not eat. Went elsewhere for a hot and delicious breakfast. No one seemed to care about food service/quality. This does not bode well for guests. It seemed that breakfast was just thrown together, training is needed on regular basis.
This was our overnight stay while traveling back to PA from NC. We booked using reward points. Were assigned room 301. TV didn't work at all, the phone was not even connected to the wiring. After a long day's travel we just wanted to stay in, watch a little TV and go to bed. I went down and spoke to Chris, the front desk attendant. Told him TV didn't work, could someone come up and fix it. I was told several TV's weren't working because of a storm the other night. I asked if they could switch rooms with a working TV. he said they are overbooked and that wasn't possible. They also couldn't fix the phone because the connections for all the phones were the wrong ones. I asked to speak to a manager but Chris said they are not allowed to call the managers when they are off the clock. We grabbed our luggage , handed back the keys, and went to the Quality Inn next door. The Quality Inn personnel were kind and helpful. Their TV's surprisingly all worked in spite of the storm, phones worked too. I had to make several calls to even get my reward points restored. Holiday Inn, you need a wake-up call!…
Stayed here for a couple of days while visiting family in the area. Bed was comfortable and the hotel had all the basics. However the hotel is showing a lot of wear. Both room door and the bathroom door had the wood veneer peeling off. The hotel entrance has two sliding glass doors but the exterior set was stuck open. There is a side door to the hotel but guest keys could not be used to enter this way; had to walk around to the front. Staff was friendly. Included breakfast was basic.
We stayed at this Holiday inn first we were given a room that was not made up Told the front desk she gave us another room think room number was 105 it seemed fine The next morning my wife opened a drawer it was full of leftover pizza etc took a picture went to front desk she came to the room and took pictures said that they would refund our night etc Did not still charged us I have called twice to customer relations and they say they can only The first time the wrong holiday inn called Now nothing So much for all there talk about cleanness two rooms neither were cleaned In over 40 years of traveling have never had a hotel not listen if the was a problem I guess we go back to the Hampton inn and Fairfield’s
We used IHG points for a one night stay at this hotel. We have stayed at numerous Holiday Inn Express hotels, and this one was by far the worst. The lobby was messy and the floors looked dirty. We were told not to use the side door because it was not working well - which was true - it could not be locked because part of the jamb was broken off. We were given a first floor room. On opening the door, the room had an odor and the tile floor looked dirty - I wondered if the room had been cleaned. On closer inspection, the floor was chipped and stained but didn't have debris on it. The towels were fresh and the bathroom was in order, but the tub had mildew around the caulk and a large stain in the tub. There is very little lighting in these rooms - only one light by the door, lamps on the wall by the bed and one light on the desk. The next morning, my husband went to the lobby early for breakfast, which was overcooked eggs and sausage. He overheard the breakfast attendant tell another staff member that she was "still throwing up". I had breakfast elsewhere. When we left, there was no one at the desk to resolve credit card charges that should not have been made - the room was free on IHG points. Usually a small charge is made, then removed before checkout. We wondered if we were given a bad room because it was on points - not our experience on other stays. This hotel is in poor repair, not very clean and understaffed.…
During a trip up I-81 it was time to find a place to spend the night. We stopped here at the Holiday Inn Express. We got there around 3:00pm and the rooms were not ready so we had to wait about an hour but we went to eat and get gas and when we got back to the hotel the room was ready. The room was in good condition but the bathroom looked well used. The room was quiet and we got a good night's sleep.
This is OK for a night passing through, if you have a travel coupon. It probably would not be worth the rack rate or internet rate. The room was typical, but seemed to have a bit a musty odor. The breakfast area did not have the good cinnamon rolls, that we have to expect from a HI Express. When asked about the attendant said that the truck had not come. HI Express should never be without cinnamon rolls, This is like Dairy Queen being out of ice cream.
We stopped here because it was 1/2 way on our trip to Snowshoe, WVa. I'll start with the Pro points: The room was clean. The bed was very comfy. The shower was hot. The hotel was quiet. The lady that greeted us (when we came in at 10 PM) was super friendly! We stayed in Room 223. The Cons: the room is old and in DIRE need of updating. The bathroom door looks like a wild animal was trapped inside and tried to claw its way out. The AC was on, but could not be turned up or down. The remote turned the TV on, but would not change channels (we had to do it manually on the back of the TV). Normally the Holiday Inns we stay in are much nicer, but again, this wasn't so bad. It served it's purpose in the ways that mattered most!
....Really impressed with the wide open, bright, colorful, AND modern first impression lobby...really refreshing and inviting. Then there was the front desk wonder Julie who was so pleasant and caring...The people, well they make it. Also impressive was the beautiful-personable-"colorful" lady named KIM who later worked the front desk....then follow that up with a Miss Destiny..and you've a SLAM-BANG!! The only real drawback that MUST BE addressed is the pool area...only one (1) table and that hadn't been cleaned in a long-long time --NO umbrellas....just NOT inviting...Miss Vanessa-this needs attention. Breakfast was really good AND made even better by a lady named Debbie who ,if not replenishing was a busy bee cleaning and ensuring a healthy dining experience...That a.m. lady NEVER quit. We only hope this place DOES NOT start slipping...right now it IS tremendous....right KIM?? We did very much enjoy it. Steve and Barbie B. - Elmira, NY…
