We took a family vacation during Spring Break to see Montpelier and Monticello. We debated between staying near Montpelier or Monticello, and thankfully we chose James Madison's house! Sharon was so warm and welcoming and full of hints, tips, and suggestions on how to make the most of our very brief trip. The breakfasts were delicious, and my kids (with...

We love hosting budding historians here! We thoroughly enjoyed having your family here while visiting the Presidential mansions in the area! And homemade cookies are always the best way to end a day of brainy stuff :) Please thank your kids for the note they left us - it totally made our day!

My lovely wife and our close friend decided to treat the guys to a weekend wine tour of some Blue Ridge wineries for our birthdays. They chose this bed and breakfast as our home base for the weekend. I really cannot say enough about this place. I have never really stayed in a bed and breakfast before, but if they...

Sharon and the Holladay House B&B were the perfect choice for our elopement. Sharon, the innkeeper, organized everything including the cake, flowers, officiant, sparkling wine, and dinner reservations for after the ceremony (all we had to do was show up with a marriage license). This was an absolute stress free way to get married and I highly recommend the Holladay...

Love the cake reference :) And speaking of that cake - boy, it's darn good locally-baked cake! I love seeing what flavor combinations our brides+grooms choose - it's always unique! Happy to have created the perfect stress-free (so important!) wedding for you both - thanks again for choosing us as your venue. Really looking forward to having you both return...

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to make sure I gave credit to one of the best hospitality experiences I've ever had. We stayed at the Holladay House in late August 2014 and purchased the elopement package. Everything was amazing from start to finish. I wanted a low key wedding with no stress that would be memorable and...

And even if you're the only folks in the inn, we don't skimp on details - especially the cookies and breakfast! We can't wait to have you back in...

My last review in May 2011 was after our 2nd visit to Sharon & Sam's extraordinarily run establishment. In the 4 1/2 years since then, my wife and I have visited at least a half dozen times, usu. for 3 nights, no less than two. Everything I said in my previous review is as true now as then, if not...

The Holladay House Bed and Breakfast is a charming place in an equally charming location. This was my first time exploring Virginia and I immediately fell in love with it. When we decided to purchase an inn, we were already living in VA and saw no reason to look out of state (or Commonwealth). Sharon is a natural and warm hostess. She provides a fantastic breakfast - one morning cheese crepes with a warm blueberry and granola cup; the other morning a bacon-wrapped quiche. Fresh cookies, beer, wine, coffee and tea always available. Great location in downtown Orange - walking distance to shops and restaurants. 10 minutes to Montpelier, 45 minutes to Monticello.
