We stayed at Holladay House's Oak Room for two nights while visiting Monticello and Montpelier, and loved its period feel and antique furniture. The room felt private, cozy, and clean, with luxurious bedding. The inn is on a busy street, but traffic noise is not a problem, although you must like the sound of trains, because of the frequent train...

We're so glad you enjoyed with historic feel with modern amenities here at the Holladay House B+B. Though we are an historic home, we make sure that everything that all modern comforts are taken care of. Found this B and B online and called to make reservations. One of the very cleanest B and B's we have stayed in, much better than hotels. The house is old, has a big history of when it was built and the former owners. The bed had a great mattress and the bedding was a little piece of heaven! Breakfast...

Ah - when a getaway is a "piece of heaven", that makes me smile :) All details matter in creating that piece of heaven, and one of the most important is cleanliness. We take that quite seriously here at the inn. We're thrilled you had a great time here and we look forward to your return.

We had the most enjoyable time at Holladay House. We splurged to celebrate our 29th anniversary. Everything was first class. The owners were most accommodating and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. I recommend one of the suites as they have lots of room. We will always have fond memories of this place.

I am a firm believer in celebrating every anniversary like it's a milestone year :) Thank you for making us a part of your memories! And yes, the suites have a TON of room to the rooms -- as do our traditional rooms. When we were looking for inns to purchase almost 10 years ago, one of the impressive aspects...

We stayed in "the Oak room" which was first room to the right upstairs. Lovely oak bed, bathroom was great, very clean, quaint lamps and vintage touches in the room. Love all the lotions and soaps at your disposal - all that can be purchased. Also coffee mugs and coffee can be also! Breakfast was superb both mornings we were...

Comfy bed and great soaking whirlpool tub to relax in after a hard day. Service was great and common rooms were relaxing. Ask the innkeeper for travel tips...they really know the area! Coffee and cookies in the afternoon were a nice treat.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place close to home to unwind a bit as we prepare for our first child. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. We arrived on a Friday evening and were promptly given a tour. We were impressed with the "feel" of the house; creaky floors, full bookshelves, classic decor with...

Ahhh - relaxing is SO important and is especially so before a huge life-change event like adding to your family! Incredibly happy you all had a chance to have some quality down-time. Hopefully you found a piece of furniture or two you couldn't live without at the Painted Lady! I love how all the antique stores in town have their...

My mom and I had a mother-daughter weekend at the Holladay House and were overwhelmed by Sharon's hospitality. The inn is beautiful and beautifully decorated, the rooms are magical, and Sharon's breakfast is amazing (ask for the creme brûlée french toast!). Everything is perfect and we are already planning a trip back.

Thanks for your review! I love the "neat and clean, with a warm and friendly atmosphere"!
