This was our first trip to Cuba and our first all inclusive. We traveled with our two kids (aged 5 and 2). All I can say is we had a great time! The beach is beautiful, the pool is great, staff are friendly and the food was good. We had a fantastic time. It was a little windy so we...

Hotel and food are not the greatest, the employees are very rude also. Hotel is one of the oldest therefore its falling apart. Alot of cats roaming around everywhere Not much entertainment during the day but those guys are the best part of the resort, still make you enjoy yourself.

We enjoyed our vacation immensely .The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent at the special restaurants and at the buffet .The rooms are some what dated but they are very clean. The maid cleans the room every day.

I visited the Tryp for a second time with my 13yr old son (last visit was 3yrs ago). Overall we had a good trip. We visited from April 14th to 21st and the weather was warm and VERY windy for the first 4 days (cold when swimming!) and it was pouring rain for a half day. It was not the...

The employees at the Tryp are what make this resort a great place to stay! I had been to Cuba just a few weeks prior at a different, 4.5 star resort and yes the resort and amenities were better at that resort but the employees were nothing in comparison as they were at the Tryp! My trip started out with...

Hi there,

Restaurants - just tip the reservation guy and you can get more visits.

Request the block by e-mail: jefe (.) cac(.) tcc at meliacuba (.) com. they are not fast in responding, so e-mail them couple of times and follow up.

Blocks - if you like to be in the actions - block 6, 7, 5. If you like to sleep at night - block 1, 2, 11, 13. Just let them know what you need (quite or be in the centre of the action).

Cups - YES, definitely bring your own insulated mug! Their cups are plastic and small, plus they run out of glass in the evening.

Excursions - book once you get there. I think it is cheaper as you may find a good rate through local service.

Visiting places: We always go to the local crafts market (10 min walk from the hotel or train drive or horse drive and a carry). You can also go to a sister resort for a day - just get a pass from the Tryp's receiption. It is free. You can eat there, have drinks.

Drinks - try bloody mary, spanish coffee, mojito, their wine is good also, Cuban beer (Crystal) is also very decent. Restaurants - I liked International, Oriental, Italian. BBQ restaurant I wouldn't go to as moscitoes will eat you alive.

There is a disco every night - I always go. I am not picky at all, so I like it.

Adult drink games - yes they have. Usually at the main pool sometime during the day/early afternoon. They have very fun activities. As far as I know this is they most fun and populated resort in Cayo Coco.

Bring small gifts for maid, T-shirts/baseball caps for gardeners - they really appreciate. Also, they ask for shoes for children a lot as it is a scarce supply I beleive in Cuba.

Hope this helps! I am also coming in December :) Have fun!

Just re-confirming what Jennifer L wrote below, the departure tax counters in Cuba have been eliminated since the middle of last year. The $25 CUC is now included in your package fee when you book at home.

Hello,

I can't tell tell you what will happen in April but I can tell you what happened to me in my room from 12/8/16 to 12/22/16.

I saw only once water was not running at full capacity from

5 pm to 6 pm(because I was at the pool until 5 pm).

i filled the bath tub to take a bath instead of shower. It took approx. 30 minutes to fill the bathtub which was great.this gave me enough time to have a rum and relax in bathtub to get ready for supper.

I have no clue why this happened, was it due to weather conditions or everybody was using the shower at the same hours, no clue!

One thing I never saw in other hotels in Cuba was, cleaning ladies put 1.5 L water every day in your room. This was very much appreciated that I don't have to bother9to look) to buy water to drink in my room.

This was my experience, I can't predict the future, conditions and the whether.

Enjoy your trip.

There is a double decker tourist bus that circles the island throughout the day, stopping at resorts/beaches/market. Also a bus into Moron, but there isn't much there. I did see a car rental place a short walk from Tryp, but didn't notice the vehicles - the resort could tell you. This is strictly a tourist island, not really a place for cultural insight. The cave bar, a fun night out. Check for excursions from the resort when you get there.
