My husband and I booked a room at the Arran Guest House for an over night stay after an evening in the West End. We arrived quite late but were given a warm welcome with no fuss. After a brief tour of the facilities we were shown to our room. The double room was clean, tidy and spacious. Nice and... More

One of the positives is its location i.e. 40 mins from Stansted, 3 minutes walk from the Ilford station and 5-10 minutes walk from Sainsbury and asian food street. A nice guest house which has accessibility to its big garden. The other positive aspect is that, most of the rooms have an attached shower and bathroom. In addition to that... More

I stayed here because I was doing a cycling event starting from the Olympic Park. I was concerned about storing my bike but they have apparently got an outside store with lots of CCTV but in my case said I could have the bike in my room, which was better for me. Staff were nice and helpful. Room basic. Sheets... More

My husband and I stayed at the Arran Guest House for the weekend in the beginning of July and it was totally worth the price. The staff were very friendly and homely and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The shower had warm water and the beds were not uncomfortable. The breakfast could have had more vegetarian options but the... More

Came down for a long weekend for a special event. Very friendly greeting when we arrived. We were taken to a spotlessly clean room with a double and single bed with beautiful clean white linen, a reasonable sized television mounted on the wall where you could see it easily, and an excellent hospitality tray. The bathroom was a good size... More

Friendly staff, good (free) wifi, parking space in front of building. Breakfast not that great, but that's because we're vegetarians and like to eat a lot of fresh food. The only thing I did not like was the lighting in the room. There was only one lamp, hanging from the ceiling. A bedside lamp for each person would be a... More

After reading negative reviews of this guest house i must admit i was not looking forward to staying here. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who went out of her way to tell about the trains to london and showed us to our room. We could not fault the room it had eveything that we needed and... I had the misfortune of booking for a night. Needless to stay I just drove back home rather than stay. The carpets were damp and smelled. The walls were paper thin and you could 'hear' other 'guests' next door. The bathrooms were terrible the beds felt damp. After a couple hours of trying I just packed my bags and left.

Partner & I fancied a weekend in London to catch up with some friends and go to the comedy club (Angel, Queens Head), but didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices central london charges - even though we are both full-time working professionals on above average wages. We paid £95 for two nights which included; free parking (right outside our... More

When you stay at a hotel in London where you get parking, breakfast, wifi and a decent room for £40 a night, it's churlish to point out its faults. The fact is that this is a warm and welcoming guest house that was completely full the night I stayed. It was quiet; a stone's throw from Ilford town centre with... More
