We came special for the live music that was happened every saturday and sunday. And for the sunday end of the day, at 05.00 pm, the concert was free. The drink and food's price were affordable. Friendly people and good location, along the canal. Parking was free, not far from the hotel.
And the staff is so friendly. Pure Edam experience, makes you really appreciate the North Holland small town culture. Will definitely be back! If you are there. Please ask for the bands or look for the poster in the bathroom. It seems like a true hidden gem for good artists - thanks to the owner and his son
Small but interesting and right on the canal it’s worth a short walk from the middle to find this place especially if they have musicians playing; check with the owners. Some very good beers , reasonable prices and friendly bar staff. It’s a lovely placep to have a few drinks in the evening.
Went here with my wife. There were local musicians and a guitarist from Brazil, playing Latin music. The music was slamming and to accompany it was great selection of beers. Outside the pub was a seating area overlooking the canal. We loved every bit of the time we spent here.
we stayed here for 4 nights at the end of may for a friends wedding and found it really nice there is a double bed shower and kitchen area if needed and the bar down stairs it is,nt anything fancy but we were never really in so it suited us and the landlord was very plesant
The staff and owners are brilliant and simply cannot do enough for you, The prices are the best in the area and the breakfasts awesome! the rooms/appartments are clean, big and airy, the bar is fantastic and the people friendly I cannot fault it and will stay again and again I was sad to leave, also, sunday nights are open mic/acoustic nights, everyone can join in,brilliant
We have stayed here for two nights, while we were on a weekend in Amsterdam. it is not so far from the capital easy to reach day and night, plus it is way cheaper. The place itself is clean tidy with a nice staff. The surround area just screams calmness all around. Finally, there is a small bar in it where you can enjoy a nice beer. It is great value for your money.
I suppose the only good thing about this place is that it is somewhat spacious. Other than that, I cannot think of anything that is good about it. My husband & I stayed in a ground floor accommodation here. When we arrived, the room had not yet been cleaned. It was very dirty with food & stuff on the floor, and smelled musty & bad. We were told we could leave our luggage & belongings, and that when we returned, the room would be cleaned. Later that night, when we came back to the room, the beds were made, and the floors swept, but it still smelled musty and unclean. Although there is supposedly free wifi, and they leave a code in the room, it was basically non-existent, except for an occasional connection which would almost immediately disconnect. There was music played until nearly 3AM, apparently part of a jam session following a music festival held that day. The drumming went on, and on, and on, and along with that, the bed was uncomfortable, so I almost did not sleep at all. In the morning, my husband went into the bar to ask the hours of breakfast, and was told that 'There is no breakfast.' Later, as we were checking out, the proprietor said he was sorry that his son told us that there is no breakfast, but it was because his son did not realize there were guests. Instead of offering to go next door (where there was an open bakery) to bring at least some bread, rolls, cheese perhaps (after all, we were in Edam!) for our breakfast, instead, he sat down to read his newspaper . . . I would say, never stay there unless you are stuck in Edam, and there is no where else to stay, and you like listening to music going on until all hours of the night, and you don't care whether you have the ability to use wifi, and if you are a person who does not like to eat breakfast, etc., etc.…
We stayed in the 2 bedroom house (6). It is well equipped with everything you need and can sleep up to six as it has a sofa bed. Edam is a lovely place with a cheese shop, deli, bakery, chocolatier and much more. Would highly recommend this house for groups or families and the owners are very accommodating. Was noisy on Sunday until midnight but was to be expected. Great Italian in town worth visiting.
Good spacious clean room or apartment. Can sleep 4. We walked in at 5pm n the bartender offered us a good deal! But did warn us that there 's a dance party that night so going to be noisy! The bathroom is cold as no heater. But bedroom is very comfortable w a clean equipped kitchenette ! The apartment or room is actually at attic...cute. we even have our own side entrance door. The bartender is friendly and not fussy about our checking out times. Location is almost perfect. Its only like 5-8 mins walking to center of town.
