A Good place to stay if you are looking for a quick get away in Ticino. This hotel/motel is accessable with Post Bus and the cable car is also accessable in minutes. Rooms are big enough and cleaned daily. Food is very good for the price. Good personal and service. Tip. Ask for Ticino ticket Pass to save on train and other tourist attraction fees.

Clean rooms - facility looks brand new. Great breakfast with the expected items. Wonderful location just south of the Gotthard Pass and very near to the steepest funicular in Europe. Front desk was very helpful. Shower was awesome.

Very well positioned and clean. But price a bit high when compared to overall service. Outdoor post snowing not cleaned. Coffee and cappuccino not good. However, it is in overall sufficient. Good for one night.

My first stop from Zeebrugge on my way to south of Italy. The room was simple clean and spacious ideal for my stop . I had read lots of write ups and wasn't disappointed . The Restaurant though was a let down , limited Al a Carte menu with little imagination and big prices.

We were very pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable this motel was and breakfast was plentiful with good selection of food. Pity about the huge red petrol station/rest stop that completely ruined the view of the Pass at the front of the motel but our rooms overlooked the garden and forest, away from traffic......definitely ask for rooms on the right side of the motel!

A very nice hotel with clean rooms. The room has a bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast is good with plenty of choise between different types of breads, fruit and cereals. It is just after/before the Gotthard tunnel close to the highway.

We chose this location which is about 5K from the border tunnel/pass into Germany. We thought it would give us an early start back to Germany the following morning. As we approached the hotel turnoff about 4:00pm that night the traffic was already backed up to the pass and tunnel. To reach the hotel you must drive about 7k from the interstate to a small isolated town with few choices in food or lodging. This hotel has a 6:00pm cancellation policy (one of the few remaining) but we decided not to exercise this option and stayed the night. The staff is pleasant and our room was austere but clean, quite, and adequate. However, it was not worth the $135, plus it was cold and raining and there was no heat in the room. WIFI was only 1.58mbs fast enough for email but insufficient for streaming a movie. We had a late lunch in Lugano, a beautiful and exciting city, and should have spent the night there but stayed with our plan and the Gottardo. A cable train is located about a half kilometer from the Gottardo hotel that takes you to the top of the mountain. Had the weather been nicer this might have been worth investigating. We subsequently tried the hotel dining room that evening which contained a captive audience. I had a small insalata mista and we both had a soup. The bill was $29 including one drink which we thought was excessive. An cold breakfast was provided the following morning though adequate for our needs it was also nothing special. We departed the hotel about 8:30am and there was no border traffic backup. We believe we could have spent the night in Lugano and achieved the same results.

Room Tip: Suggest you stay in Lugano with more choices and equal border pass access.

If you a place to stay for a few nights, or even one night, if you're travelling, this place is perfect. Very clean rooms, good restaurant (a bit pricey, but still ok), nice staff, good breakfast. Nothing to complain.

As a motel it had a little bit higher standard than expected, more like a budget hotel. But the prices were of course in parity with the rest of Switzerland. It had a very cozy backyard, where a spring came out of the ground an formed a little pond. A pity that it wasn't allowed to take the meals there, but we could take our drinks there. The immediate surroundings was a ghost town, so not much to see there.

We stayed here for one night travelling from the UK to Italy. After a 9 hour drive it was a very welcome sight, the views were stunning and it was so peaceful - even being so close to the motorway and services. Our room was clean and comfortable and with the breakfast included, a good price. What wasn't such great value was the evening dinner and drinks which we felt were a bit overpriced albeit fresh and tasty. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
