We started the Camino de Santiago from this location. It is 116 km to Santiago. The facility was very clean and staying in an old monastery was a great way to begin the camino. The price is good and there was a heater in the room and it was cool. It is an easy walk to restaurants. The city itself... More

When we realized that we weren't going to make Santiago de Compostela on our timetable, we took a bus to Sarria, stayed overnight here, and caught the Camino the next morning to continue our journey. This was a great place to stay... large, clean, clean bathrooms, a big kitchen, a lounge area, a place to wash and dry your clothing,... More

For what it is, it was fine. It is a large, old albergue, with large dormitories. Given the number of beds in each room they have done a good job of trying to section off to give some semblance of privacy. Like the convenient lockers so not tripping on backpacks everywhere. Large decently equipped kitchen. Did not like co-Ed washrooms... More

I certainly concur with other reviewers that it's an ideal spot to begin or continue the camino to Santiago de Compostella. The building is really significant, and it's great to adjoin the historic abbey. A few great restaurants are just slightly downhill, or else a shop to grab a few basic ingredients to prepare in the albergue kitchen. It's conducive... More

Started off at this hotel for my Camino trip from Sarria. It is a very clean hostel. They had lockers (so bring a Euro coin) and even had blankets if you need them (if you pick the right hostel, you could probably avoid lugging the sleeping bag). Hostel is close to the trail for the morning. I would recommend Google... More

I stayed here the first night of my Camino. I walked the Camino by myself. I wanted to know I was staying in a safe, affordable place my first night. It is very clean, not too large, and situated right on the Camino so it was easy to wake up and go. It is very affordable and for me, was... More

The albergue is situated next to the Camino trail which makes it an ideal location if you want to start the walking early in the morning. The staff was efficient when checking in and helpful to answer all my questions. The place had adequate facility to handle all the pilgrims sleeping in one big room and I didn't experience any... We booked in here for the evening before we commenced the Camino. The place is very clean and as dorms go comfortable. The bunks are arranged so that there are pretty much four bed to a cubicle and single bunks dotted around. The staff are friendly and helpful. At reception you are able to purchase your credentials for the Camino... More

We stayed at this albergue the first night of our adventure hiking the Camino de Santiago. The Monasterio was easy to find from the train station (veer to the right and go straight up the hill). Check-in was easy and we were able to obtain our Pilgrim Passports at the front desk as well. This albergue is also located near... More
