Stayed for 2 nights on our way back to the UK after 17 days in the area. The hotel is right on the C31 road but this is not an issue actually makes it easy to find. The hotel itself is lovely the staff really nice and helpful. The rooms are really nice, spacious with a huge bed and nice bathroom. Really surprised that everything in the minibar was free (No alcohol) but water, soft drinks and a couple of snacks, nice touch. We walked into Pals for food on the first night we walk quite a bit so not a problem for us took about 10 minutes I would say 15 minutes maximum to get to the top of the old town. Second night we ate at the hotel and the food was excellent. It was the most expensive meal on our trip, but this was mainly down to the Gin & Tonics and wine The food was…
Don't be put off by the main road running along the property boundary. The pool and garden have charm. The rooms have all been modernised without loosing their old world charm. The construction is such that there is no noise from the road. We had a room that overlooked the road and never heard vehicle. The staff are very friendly and have good command of English. We also enjoyed a first class dinner.
The hotel, and the customer, would benefit from some clear road side signs. Room small but OK. Quality OK. The restaurant in the hotel is good! Good food, good choice in wine, reasonable prices. For us, on the way south, it was a real put down to find out breakfast only starts at 09.00. No way to get a piece of bread or a croissant for the road. And breakfast is included in the price. Nobody at the reception before 08.30.
Despite the position beside a busy road to the nearby town of Pals it is surprisingly quiet. The rooms have excellent double glazing. The room was very well appointed and modern. I loved the bare natural rough stone walls which made a great contrast to the modern fittings. A nice touch was the free soft drinks in the mini bar and the seating area on the first floor which had coffee making facilities. The food was amazing. Fine dining at it's best. The chef is a genius at producing food combinations which you would never expect to work but they do!
This hotel is very deserving of all five stars. Secluded on beautiful grounds and only about 10 minute walk from the historic part of Pals. The hotel fits in nicely with the medieval town! Clean, well maintained, and modern rooms adds comfort and luxury to the old-time feel of the architecture. Highly recommended!!!
