What a wonderful two night stay we had at this beautiful, rustic hotel. The rooms are very nicely appointed. The restaurant is a Michelin rated restaurant. They specialize in using fresh and local food. It was quite a wonderful meal.

This hotel is an eight room coverted farmhouse with a lovely pool and an outstanding restaurant and rather inexpensive. We stayed for two nights after a busy trip to Barcelona and it was clean, quiet and very relaxing. It is close to the medievial towns of Pals, Peratallada and Begur which are truely amazing. the staff we friendly and attentive, even making us a breakfast to go as we had to check out prior to the restaurant opening for breakfast!

Stayed here for a couple of nights, and liked it here! Got a smaller, yet very cozy room with a garden view, so it was completely quiet despite the fact the hotel is located close to the road. The room & bathroom were super clean, the wi-fi sometimes went down, but overall it was decent. Tasty breakfast with lots of healthy options, fruits, pastry, teas, fresh juice, lovely! The hotel has a nice pool at the backyard which we didn't try due to the bad weather. Worth to come around for dinner and try their specialities.

We stayed at Es Portal for a family celebration. We were eleven, including four kids. Food was excellent, although the staff did not seem too comfortable with our children. Also had reserved a double bedroom for one night, as a present for my brother and his fiancee. After have payed the bill (750€) and giving my own credit card as a warrantee I wanted to check the room. The manager didn't let me see the room using very unpolite manners and an absolute lack of professionalty. After a long discussion, we decided to cancel the reserve. A day to forget, wouldn't recommend it at all!!!

Mr. Ricard F, Thank you for sharing your experience at Es Portal, we are glad you enjoyed a good meal of celebration in our private dinning room. Let us insist again about some details you seem to forget in your review. Our staff is used to deal with children. But they had to warn your children about not to climb to the trees and not to play in our garden because they were bothering other customers and endangering themselves and nobody seemed to take proper care of them. We are sure you misunderstood us when you were told that you needed to ask for permission to enter the hotel area, after finding you wandering in our premises. This doesn’t mean you cannot see the room or the hotel. This only means you have to ask for it. If you are not registered you cannot have access to the hotel areas at your free will. This is mainly but no limited to security reasons and to assure our customers a safe, quiet and pleasant stay. It’s our policy and you should respect it like all our customers do. If you want to see one of our 9 rooms and you are not registered, we will be more than happy to show it to you. A staff member will help you and will answer all your questions and doubts about it. We’ve done it several times as you can imagine. Paying the bill, no matter how high or low be it, doesn’t give you the right to ignore our policies or mistreat anybody in our property. We have a zero tolerance policy about customers treating disrespectfully other customers, our staff or ourselves. We profoundly regret the situation you had put your brother and your family because of your disrespectful behaviour. We tried to explain it to you but you prevented us to do so with your attitude. That’s why we had asked to you to leave our premises.

If you want a quality hotel at a reasonable price then this is it ! Beautifully and tastefully refurbished 15 th century farmhouse , the hotel has a peaceful and unobtrusive feel . The staff are all delightful and give the feeling they all enjoy working there . Eager to please and ensure a good experience , the staff also speak excellent English for us English who , shamefully , don't speak Spanish ! The restaurant serves lovely food (though I wasn't fond of the scallops with chanterelles and truffle . ) The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the medieval town of Pals , which is so worth seeing . Public transport is thin on the ground but there is a taxi service from Peratallada , another amazing ancient town . We ate in a lovely , quirky restaurant called El Pati . It's also worth
