Just returned from the Miami. We stayed 7 nights. Clean and Bright. Staff are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. Food was ok, what you would expect from a 3 star. My tip, if you want to avoid queuing for Dinner go after 8pm, its much quieter and you will get a seat straight away. Great location for shops and the Beach and also the Station. Trains run all along the coast as far as Barcelona. So if you fancy going further afield its perfect. Its the only Hotel in this resort we've stayed in where you can sleep until gone 8am, it was so peaceful.

We stayed here for a week, 40,39,19,17 and 7. It was my partners 40th whilst we were there. The hotel is absolutely spotless everywhere. The rooms are basic, no water or tea and coffee facilities. We stayed all inclusive and we arrived around 1.00am and they had plated up some sandwiches and fruit and crackers for us, which was a lovely touch. The air conditioning in the rooms is rubbish and we melted at night, so much so I ended up lying on the balcony one night. Most of the staff are lovely, some speak better English than others, considering we are in their country, it’s our ignorance really. Pedro was fantastic. There is a small brunette woman behind the bar with limited English and she is clearly in the wrong job, manners are awful and at one stage made my daughter cry, she picked up a drink and it was alcoholic (she was carrying it) and she snatched it and shouted at her. Now for the food...it was edible. You will find something, but it is nothing to be excited about at all. The chefs stand on guard at meal times, clearly proud of their offerings. It is nothing to be proud of. There are staff serving you, but if you want more food, just go back and get more. The salads are lovely. The pool area is small, but you will be able to find a sun bed and space for a swim. Calella is lovely, beach and sea clean, loads of shops and bars and restaurants. There is a takeaway/restaurant just by the hotel, ‘Can Charley’ please do not waste your money, it was awful. We ordered 5 different pizzas and they all tasted the same and swam in grease. There was one night of ‘entertainment’ karaoke, which was ok. Nothing on at all, all week otherwise. Breakfast is 7-9.30 Lunch 1.00-2.15 Tea 7.30-9.30 They give you a card to swap for a drink and you take your empty glass back to get another. All inclusive is from 10.00-10.30, after that you have to pay. Cocktails are an extra €2 on top of the all inclusive and €5 outside of those times. Not sure if we would return, we had a good holiday, the food and the member of bar staff spoiled it a bit. Glad we came though. Oh, the transfers were terrible. Please make sure you ask them where you are getting dropped off and picked up from!

Just finished a weeks holiday at the Miami. To be honest the terrible weather we had for the week hasn’t helped our overall experience in Calella. We stayed half board and on arrival the reception staff were very welcoming. We arrived late and had missed dinner so we were offered lunch the next day instead. The room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel, the maids were constantly seen cleaning around the hotel. Pool area again was clean and sun beds plentiful. The location of the hotel is convenient due to being a five minute walk from the beach and shops. The train station is also a short walk and gives access Barcelona for 10 euros return. Meals are buffet style, breakfast has plenty of choice - pastries, cooked meats, cheese, cereal, fruits and a small selection of hot food, plus hot drinks and juice. Dinner in our opinion really let this hotel down, there was salad daily which was nice but the hot food choice was limited and not very well matched to other foods on offer. On several occasions my daughter just ate potatoes and bread. One thing that was disappointing also was that a drink was not served with dinner, not even water, this was at an additional cost (E1.30 for a 330ml bottle of water). The majority of staff in the dining room were lovely, always smiling and very pleasant, especially conchi and Maria (and the young lady whose name we don’t know!) however a couple of the staff were clearly there just to get the job done and one never spoke or smiled in the time we were there. If the hotel was in a different location offering more to do then we may return but only on a bed and breakfast basis.

We booked this as a last minute cheap holiday. You do get what you pay for here. We wouldn't return. We were full board and room was available from 2pm - reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very basic. More basic than the usual ikea crap. But we were fortunate to have one of the rooms with a huge private balcony. Bathroom was gloomy but the shower was powerful and hot so that was fine. Breakfast was very early. 7-9 which was a shame as working hard all year i would have LOVED a lie in. Breakfast was basic and the coffee and juice machines were not very nice at all. Theres two little cheap toasters to make your own toast... bot the usual hotel style conveyor belt toasters... just a cheap plastic tesco one. Lunch had a salad bar every day and so did dinner. The dishes were limited and it wasnt great for my veggie daughter who had to have a plate of salad with a breadroll a few times. You cannot help yourself there are 'dinner ladies'dishing out the food. So if you like bug portions its not ideal. I like to put my own food on and make it look nice haha It has a very school dinner vibe. Most days the food i ate was nice enough in fairness and i always found something to eat but it wasnt anything to be excited about and i found i was a bit disappointed and deflated every dinner time. It did spoil my week as i love my food and look forward to meals. Forgot to mention... my daughter refused to eat the chips as they were using the same tongs to pick up chicken. And chips only once a week so you can forget thinking if all else fails i will eat chips (my usual idea) The weirdest part is there are no drinks in the canteen at lunch and dinner... nothing at all!? Very odd. Not even water. U have to go out into the bar and buy a drink to take in with you!? Never seen anything like that before. The bar was really slow and we always had to wait. The staff were lovely but drinks wernt cheap really and once u add ice and lemon you dont get much for your money! The location is not in the main town area which we liked as it was quiet. To walk to the main square takes about 20 mins but to walk to the start of the shops takes only 3 or 4 mins. The beach is a 5 min walk as is the train station. You can catxh a train to barcelona for 10 euro return and it takes an hour along the coast. There is no entertainment here for children other than the pool which was very deep. No issue getting sun lounger every day even in august. No muaic around the pool resulting in guests playing their own preferred music through their phones which was very annoying. No evening entertainment except a disco which was random and we never saw anyone attend. Pros: Quiet location Good balcony for us Close to beach and train Clean Staff helpful and nice Cons: Food served by dinner ladies Poor veggie options Entertainment No drinks in dining room

We recently stayed at the Hotel Miami and I was really impressed with the level of service. The Reception team were super friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival we were welcomed and assisted with luggage and swiftly checked in. The same goes for the restaurant staff who were running a busy restaurant which was well organised. We had a good stay and liked the location of the hotel being close to shops, beach and train station. The kids enjoyed the pool and Calella itself had plenty to do.
