Just returned from a weeks holiday at La concha and I felt the need to write an honest review. I was very apprehensive given some of the reviews I read about this place however, we could not have asked for better!!! My husband and I stayed for a week and the place was very clean, very quiet and everything we could have asked for. It is central to most areas we wanted to visit and although there was no air conditioning (which is usually a must for us) was extremely comfortable at night even though it was a high of 27 some days. The kitchen had all the essentials you need, including salt, pepper and cooking oil, coffee and tea too. There is a small dining table and chairs which was ideal for small meals/ snacks. There is a sitting area that we think can also be used as a small bed. The bedroom was very spacious and loads of wardrobe space. The bed were also extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was very specious too with a good power shower with hot and cold water. There was also shampoo, hairdryer and soaps provided. Overall we felt this was a great apartment and we are looking to book again in the near future.

Recently returned from a week's stay at La Concha del Mar. The grounds and pathways are kept very well. The pool is cold but very clean. The apartments are pretty dated but spotless. We understand the complex is up for sale so hence no investment. They're a good size. Plenty of wardrobe space. We were in apartment 7 which wasn't overlooked at all. Had a nice terrace with a couple of sunbeds and table and chairs. Also seating area at the entrance to the property shared with the bungalow next door. It was so quiet and relaxing, Couple who run it come in every morning to clean and always happy to provide you with anything you need. Short walk to well stocked supermarket and about 10 minutes from great shops, restaurants & bars. 5 minutes walk to beach. We normally love the walk along the beach to the port but unfortunately on this visit there was a problem with seaweed. Hope it gets sorted soon. Normally love to swim here but not possible on this trip. We took a day trip to Lanzarote and hired a car for a couple of days. We had a lovely relaxing stay.

Just recently returned back from these great bungalows. So peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Can't fault them. Perfect location for beach, 5 mins away, and also shops which are around the same distance although the main strip is around 10 minutes away. All in all a great holiday. Photos are from bungalow 6.

This is a great wee place. If you're after quiet and peaceful within easy reach of all the ships, the beach, and the nightlife, and wish to go the self-catering route then you won't got far wrong.

Accommodation is secure, roomy and comfortable and has all you need for a nice stay. Not OTT so if want luxury and glamour then probably not for you. The property and gardens are well kept and cared for and the owners extremely friendly.

I've stayed here a couple of times now and my only disappointment was when I realised one of their two Love Birds had died.

Every year we see news stories that show holidaymakers queuing up before sprinting to get a sunbed around a crowded pool. With that image in mind, picture a small apartment complex, surrounding a lovely pool and only for adults. Picture each apartment being its own mini villa with its own terrace and its own sunloungers. Picture a place that is lovely and quiet with a fantastic owner who cannot do enough to help. If the idea of a well located complex, ideal for relaxation suits you then this is a great spot. Could do with some minor updates in places but these tend to be cosmetic exterior points. We will be back.

Lovely apartment (No 8). Lovely quiet little complex. Had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Staff we encountered were pleasant and cheery & even arranged our taxi back to the airport for us.
Sun loungers may have been a bit more comfortable with cushions but we survived! :-)
Complex is only a 15min walk to Music Square and good supermarkets are even closer.
We would definitely stay here again.

Went with my partner and we had read previous reports and all commented how clean these apartments were. This was absolutely true, they were immaculate. The apartment we had was No.6. It is run very efficiently but with a laid back holiday atmosphere. There are two sets of appartments and studios each circularly laid out around the two pools. There are gardens running around the whole complex which are again immaculate. These are intersperced with birds in cages, mostly finches but it is a pleasant sound. There are a lot of cats around the area, they are well looked after and well fed, not ferral but if you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you.

The rooms were clean and basic. There is a kettle, toaster and microwave in the apartment. We did no cooking so I cannot say how that would work but there is a two hob unit.. The fridge was massive and again clean. The beds were very uncomfortable but no different to most holiday apartments.

There was a maid service twice in our week and it was really good cleaning, the bathroom especially. Every day the patio area was swept and the pools cleaned and the areas all washed down.

The family who run the complex are friendly, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. There is a safe in the apartments which cost 10 euros.

The complex is about five minutes from the beach and supermarket but the best supermarkets are around 10 minutes away on the main road, much more choice and better friendlier service. The restaurants around the area are very touristy and not great the food is pretty awful it is best to go to the harbour area about 15 minute walk, which was a fantastic walk anyway. The food there is a little more authentic and some really good ones.

Great holiday, good value, probably best to book direct with the owners, lots of people had returned year after year and I can understand why. Open the patio doors and you have your own patio with table, chairs, parasol and sunbeds with flowers trailing overhead. It would be quite a cheap holiday if you booked everything yourself and missed out the "middleman".

La concha del mar, corralejo.

We stayed in bungalow 7 and had paid a higher price than the two others (no 4 & 18) that were available to us. On having stayed here we're not sure why we were charged a premium, as the following hopefully explains.

Negatives:-
There's a roof terrace which appears to be unique on the complex, HOWEVER we weren't able to use it as the complex used it for drying all its laundry and it was blocked off and we weren't told about it.
The roof terrace is on top of your bedroom in number 7, with the steps located on the wall on the bed head and staff accessed it from 8:30am and were even found up there after dark on occasion during our stay when we wondered what was going off when we heard something.

The ground floor private terrace to number 7 gets NO sun during the day at all so don't expect to be able to sunbathe at all on your private terrace.

It isn't that private as you're next to a path which leads to the cleaners cupboards and laundry rooms, including a washing machine which they have on through the day / afternoon (attached to your bungalow). The new side of the complex (APTS 13 - 19), massage and therapy business and complex pool toilets (we never saw these used during our stay) are also off the path by your terrace.

The cleaners cupboards are accessed every day of the week from approximately 8:10am so with this being on the bed head wall you'll feel them opening and closing the doors, so get up early to enjoy your days. Noise was minimal but worth mentioning as you could hear it.

There's a shared area out the front of bungalow 7, which adjoins number 8 that does get sun, which is relatively private, but our neighbours in number 8 started using it all the time, leaving their towels, blankets and pillows out there and chairs from their private terrace. This was despite their private terrace at the other side getting sun so we had to spend most of our time off complex as we had nowhere to sit in the sun. You can't help other people's selfishness though I suppose.

We could also hear them talking and banging doors during their stay too.

Our terrace was cleaned down one morning (also see positives) just before we were due to use it which rendered it unusable as it was washed down (table, chairs and floor) and didn't dry for hours due to the lack of sun.

Two days before we were due to depart the cleaners changed the cover on the lounge sofa (a throw of sorts) and replaced it with a wet cover. We had to take this off as the mattress was wet through as were the cushions that were on it. We had to sit in the bedroom the last two nights as there was nowhere else to sit. That close to us departing we had no idea why they did that without speaking to us and replacing it with a wet cover was nonsensical.

Toilet rolls weren't replenished frequently enough.

Kitchen items weren't plentiful and there's no oven.

Positives:-
The bungalows are a very very good size.

Showers are great. The temperature does drop after a good 15 minute shower but soon warm up for the next person. If three people are staying then allow plenty of time to get ready of an evening.

Microwave, kettle and toaster were all clean.

The cleaning team do a very good job across the complex, inside and out. They work each day on something different.

The beds were the comfiest I've ever slept on abroad.

The complex is gated which makes you feel secure. As long as guests bother to close it after them.

There's a hot tub, two pools and tennis court plus a good sized free library to use.

The complex is very well located for the resort.

Check in was smooth.

Staff are very friendly.

Overall the complex is one to recommend and as you get to choose your bungalow on some booking platforms, I'd stay again.

I would suggest if sun on the terrace and lay ins aren't high on your agenda then bungalow 7 is a good one to choose.

The lay out of the complex is as follows:-

The main entrance door on a buzzer is by reception and bungalow number 1. This is a terrace of bungalows through to number 5. These are on the road side.
Bungalow 6 is detached on the same road side. Numbers 7 & 8 are semi detached and away from the road at the rear of the site.
Number 9 starts the next block (therefore semi detached) through to number 12 and these are by another road. These bungalows are effectively in a loop or square and meet back next to reception.
On the street the bins are outside number 12.

It looked like the jacuzzi was located outside number 11.

Numbers 13 - 18 were across the path from number 7 and by the tennis court. At the opposite side was their pool. This pool lent itself better to laying by it on a sunlounger (which our neighbors always did of a morning rather than using the one outside our bungalow), but it felt like the two sets of bungalows were two complexes so you were squatting outside someone else's rooms.

Other people have complained about the aviaries on site. There were two small bird cages and we didn't hear anything from them during our stay (outside 8/9 and 17/18).

The terraces are all for individual uses by each bungalow but aren't private.

stayed with my husband for my 50th birthday in june it is our favourite resort and we visit numerous times a year when we can afford it!!!!
having stayed at various hotels both self catering and all inclusive in most resorts the la concha bungalows have surpassed all of them.
you have gated entry and a small pool to share (i saw one lady use the pool all week we dont swim) its private quiet and no children or loud music around, its pure relaxation clean and comforable too. for eating we used the cafe latino on the front facing the sea fabulous food,
on a night we visited corner rock live music and great atmosphere

Just got back from a week at La Concha. Agree with the comments about the lovely setting and ideal location for town.
However, we were slightly disappointed with a few things. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and my partner and I were actually quite cold on a number of nights with just a sheet and blanket. The shower, while powerful, is supplied with hot water from a 15 litre tank which reheats every 20 minutes. It meant switching the taps on and off while shampooing hair etc to ensure we didn't tun out of hot water before rinsing it out, and even then it was a bit hit and miss, with cold showers a regular occurance - not pleasant. And finally, the hob was pretty much useless - we couldn't even boil a pan of water to cook some pasta, it just wouldn't get hot enough. So, lovely gardens, staff and setting, but the little things were annoying enough that we probably won't return.
