We traveled to this new resort in August. This is the 20th different AMResort we have stayed at. The resort is new and they are making changes and adjustments weekly so some of the negative reviews from their soft opening are not valid now. This resort is beautiful, modern and different than other Secrets and Dreams resorts. When completed it will be amazing. We stayed in the Preferred area and loved the 6th floor Preferred restaurant and pool area. The Preferred Club was still being worked on during our stay. The Beach club with swim up bar and restaurant was our favorite place to spend each day. The beach is small, rocky and not for beach lovers. They should go to Cancun area. Secrets guests can use the Dreams side but the dining choices on the Secrets side were great so we never went there. The food was very good! The children’s pool area is nicely separated and was not a problem for us. There is plenty of seating around pools. There is a swim up infinity pool, two large adult pools on the Secrets side and two long, shallow, lap pools and preferred pool on the sixth floor. The rooms are nice and ocean view rooms are angled so you get a view of the ocean past the jungle. The staff was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. While there we celebrated my birthday and our anniversary. One afternoon Abraham and Keru, the pool concierges decorated my lounge chair with balloons. Nancy, another concierge, checked on us each day to see if we needed anything. For our anniversary they had a special tropical drinks sent to us. The pool bartender, Frank, made a special martini too. One of the things we liked there was they had an in pool waiter to bring drinks in the swim up bar. Luis was always there with a tray of drinks and a smile. Jessica, the UVC rep was so helpful during check in. We had booked a sun deck room but she told us a room on the 6th floor would be better for my husband who has mobility issues. The 6th floor room saved him many steps each day. I can not say enough about these wonderful people who made us feel at home.

It was a lovely hotel, walking distance to the shops and restaurants, yet semi-private beach. The food was good, their Japanese restaurant was the best, the yoga classes were fun. The staff are ok, but not super friendly, they just do their job, no personal touch. At one point I even explored the building because it was very interesting, and crossed path with an office staff - accountant or something- and he kinda chased me to ask me am I a guest or I came from outside, which I found disrespectful and strange for a 5 start hotel. I wanted to report to the manager, but as I am not that good inn spanish, I wasn't sure if his remark is considered disrespectful or normal in Spanish. So I let it go. I would say everything is great, only more staff training is needed.

Room Tip: Seaview suit was really nice, but not as private as you expect, as the balcony opens up to the beach

We booked a Deluxe Sea view Junior suite, by chance the day we booked it was a black Friday, big mistake, it was a nasty room, it was dreadful for too many reasons to list in this limited review space.

Wow, where to start? We looked at booking here for some time but only booked properly a bit last minute for our honeymoon. What a decision! From the private transfer they arranged from the airport and the check in with an upgraded room we knew we were in for a treat. We’ve never stayed 5 star before and didn’t really know what to expect but whatever it was this was above and beyond. Obviously due to covid not everywhere in the hotel was open including all restaurants but it didn’t matter one bit, most of the time we forgot about what’s going on in the world we were that relaxed. The staff honestly couldn’t do enough for you from the reception, to the greeter at dinner times, to all the waiting staff they always greeted you with a smile and small chat. We tried taking names down of them starting with Sophia but then honestly we stopped because everyone is worth a mention. The cleanliness was exceptional, the rooms must have been cleaned roughly 3 times a day without fail. There’s not much to do around the location itself apart from walking to the shops or relax by the beach, same for evening entertainment it was low key but very elegant and perfect for our honeymoon break. For our last night I spoke to reception and paid to upgrade us to the best suite types in the hotel and so glad I did as a treat to my now wife, the room was beautiful, not to take anything away from our original room though which was also great, sea view is a must! We visited the spa only once but it was so peaceful and quiet and great for a few pictures. The food was amazing from breakfast all the way through, I’m a fussy eater but always found plenty of choice and loved the live cooking stations, compliments to all the chefs. We visited the a la carte tapas bar twice and had a great meal both times. We loved the mojo sauce on the potatoes that we bought a jar from the airport on the way home. Will definitely look to return for our anniversary at some point Love from the kings
