The complex is closed. Reception is at hotel next door. Apartment dated spacious and clean. No English tv channels. Pool looked dirty and poolside areas or sunbeds never cleaned. Pool WC has no lights.pool showers not working as water off. Bathroom towels tiny. Beds comfy didn't inspect mattress! Lighting around complex very poor take a torch. Not safe. Fellow holidaymakers were burgled who also stole the safe! No aircon hanging off wall with bare wires.had to get fan from reception. Smoke detectors taped up. Grounds poor with dead plants as water off. Good 20 mins walk to marina for restaurants etc. But very quiet which we liked!

Arrived Saturday booked into hotel next door. Once we had handed over our 50 euros deposit the guy on reception wasn’t that helpful. No welcome pack or details of local doctors pharmacy etc. The apartment when we finally found it is large and very clean but could do with a update. The Bahia reception and restaurant are closed the hot tub is full of sand and no WiFi . The place is really quiet with no security at night so anyone can just walk into the complex and I feel that quite worrying. In my opinion the Bahia is misleading guests by advertising Amenities that are not available when you arrive

After reading an awful review i considered changing our hotel, so glad I didn't. Dropped off outside Bocayna reception, no problem? It's all part of the same hotel. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Apartment was huge, clean, quiet, just right for us. Las Coloradas is a quiet resort just outside Playa Blanca. Best place to stay if you want Papagaya beach is Las coloradas. 20 mins walk over the hill and down to paradise, it's a naturalist beach but nobody cares if you want to keep clothes on. Peace & quiet and a walk into the Rubicon Marina in the evening for dinner but the restaurants across the road in the shopping complex are excellent. Gin & wine bar, great. Alfie's, Great. Hire a cycle from Crazy bikes and cycle to the lighthouse, great day and get to see the rest of Playa Blanca. second time to los coloradas and will definitely be going back. I would book Bahia again, good value& clean spacious apartment .

We arrived 11/8/19 and trudged all the way up to the reception at La Bocayna, because Bahia Playa’s reception is closed... permanently. Room was not ready, offered an alternative. Went to room, not great at first sight, but something we could work with (after all we only use the room as a base). However, the air con didn’t work throughout the apartment and the electrics kept tripping. We trudged back to reception and asked for the original room to be told it’s no longer available! We got sent back to the room with the poor maintenance man, who couldn’t understand us and we couldn’t understand him, to try to sort the problem with the air con and electrics. I still have no idea what he was doing apart from he kept trying to tune in the tv for us. Back to reception, hot and bothered. Trying to keep a cool head, we asked politely for a different room, off again with the maintenance man, to the original room that wasn’t supposed to be available. Imagine our surprise when the door was opened and there was another family still in it 🙈. They confirmed that they had experienced the same problems along with the shower not working. Back to reception, 30 degree heat, still wearing the clothes we’d arrived in. It was not good. Barbara on reception met us this time and we explained that an alternative room was required, she told us there wasn’t any unless we wanted to clean it ourselves. Yes, that’s the customer service you can expect from Bahia Playa in Lanzarote. That prompted us to ask to speak with the manager. You guessed it, no manager available until tomorrow. Not only that we’d have to travel to another hotel, Cay Beach Sun, to speak to them. At this point, we left and went to a local bar to work out what to do. On our way out of the complex we had a look around and the complex looked like a ghost town, the jacuzzi was filthy dirty and a sunbed had been thrown into it, the colour of the water in the pool looked ‘iffy’, the pool bar wasn’t open, the shop was closed with nothing on the shelves, and the restaurant was now being used to store mattresses. Another guest had heard our conversation and confirmed that they’d experienced the same problems, he’d also requested access to his safe for 3 consecutive days and nobody came, so gave up. Another couple we spoke to, with a young family, also confirmed they’d had the same problems but as they had young children, there was little they could do. We left and found alternative accommodation across the road at Coloradomar Bungalows. We arrived there at 9.30pm, checked availability, had a look round and eventually were able to get our cases out of the hire car. Then the fun started with the hotel and Travel Republic. We eventually got Travel Republic to refund and pay for the new accommodation but it cost us more and we lost out because we moved to self catering from bed and breakfast. It took us a further 2 days to fully resolve, but it was worth it.

Rooms are large bright and well equipped. The sad part of our holiday was the bar service and the choices during meal times. We were all inclusive but could get a drink without waiting betweenn10 to 15 mins during restaurant hours...the waiter at the bar also had to clear tables etc in the restaurant during meal times...I would only go back if they improved the service. The staff did their best....

We have stayed here before and the complex still offers just what we want. The room was very clean and the maid (Sandra) was lovely. My husband had cut his arm and our request to have the beds changed was dealt with immediately. We had clean towels when we asked and our time spent here was great. I had trouble with my I pad which was sorted by the lovely receptionist Elena. We will be back here!!
