I don’t normally leave bad reviews and I have no problem staying in budget motels. I know for $55 a night I shouldn’t get my expectations too high but the Econo Lodge in Norton didn’t even meet the lowest level of expectations. When I arrived, I could tell the property was outdated and unkept. The parking lot was faded and filled with weeds. There was no landscaping and the paint on the buildings was peeling. I made a reservation without checking reviews and I won’t make that mistake again - without a reservation, I would have kept driving based on the exterior appearance. Check-in was easy enough and the desk staff was nice. I used an exterior door between the two wings of rooms to access my second floor room. None of the exterior entrances were secured and there is no elevator. I noted that there was no airflow at all in the entrance lobby and hallways and it was very uncomfortable. The room had a king bed, some mismatched furniture and a microwave and mini-fridge. The AC worked well once I turned it on. The TV was the smallest I have seen in a motel and the picture was fuzzy. I went to get ice - the vending and ice room on the second floor was closed off so I had to go downstairs. The ice machine worked but half the washers and dryers were out of order. Back in the room, I had issues connecting to the WiFi. I could get a weak connection down the hall in the lobby between the two wings but no luck in my room. I went to the front desk and the clerk, a nice younger guy this time, offered to reset it. No luck. The final straw came when I finally went into the bathroom and found a worm-type of bug on the floor. I went back to the desk and told him I was checking out. At that point, I had been there a little over an hour. He was apologetic but said I would need to contact Choice (I booked on the Choice app) to get a refund. I’ve spent an hour on the phone over the past few days - the GM hasn’t been available when they try to contact the hotel on my behalf so we’ll see. Also, FYI, the outdoor pool was closed. Other hotels have opened their pools but not here. It looked pretty fun down, just like the rest of the place. They also aren’t offering any breakfast. Again, other places are at least offering some prepackaged options but COVID seems to be more of an excuse than a valid reason for them cutting back on the extras. The price was right and it’s a convenient location just off of 58, and the staff were nice, but the hotel definitely needs some work. …
This is cheap hotel Don’t expect better Front desk is terrible Bath tab is old Only reason I chose here is my husband smoke He wanted smoking room That the only reason We never comeback It just cheap old hotel So next time I willing to pay way more than this and stay other hotel I should stay comfort inn that was my first choice
Staff were friendly, but the hotel itself is in terrible condition. There is filth and leaks everywhere, there was even mouse poop in the bathroom. We have been trying to contact the general manager to notify him about everything and it has been like pulling teeth to reach him...
Staff were nice. It was quiet. I had no issues. Of course they could do some updating, but most hotels like this don’t them often so you can’t expect the place to be prestine. The beds were not too great but the pillows were very comfortable. I would stay here again.
I was suppose to stay here for 7 days for work, my first day arriving, I learned they had no elevator in the hotel and had to carry a weeks worth of stuff up the stairs. While I was carrying everything up and down the stairs, their was a group of employees, guest, not sure who they were just drinking in the lobby, getting drunk and management not saying or doing anything about it. I mean how disrespectful is that? People that’s in recovery, this would not be good for them, children don’t need to see things like that. No respect for their guest. Food was awful, you can tell they cut some ingredients out to save money. Reporting things to management, they did not care, I felt very very unsafe after reporting things to management. I hope everyone listens, just because it’s a low cheap price, it’s not worth it. I will never stay at this place ever again, and I have reported this company for many reasons, just don’t do it, don’t stay here.…
