This place is absolutely fabulous! Wonderful attention to detail, beautiful grounds and rooms. The food was amazing; varied and absolutely cooked to perfection. Every single member of staff is approachable and friendly. Will we return? Definitely!
Having visited Sa Coma on 4 previous occassions and stayed in both the Protur Sa Coma Playa and Protur Palmeras Playa then we can assure you that the Biomar fulfils the chains very high service. However, the biomar is a level above with immaculate grounds, fantastic rooms and wonderful spa facilities. Unlike the other Protur hotels in the resort there is no extra charge to use la reserva water park, the mini golf and spa are also free. One great benefit is the bikes parked outside the main entrance that you can take and use as you please - they made for a really enjoyable bike ride through Cala Millor onto Cala Bona and back to Sa Coma. The food is a notch above other Protur hotels too - especially on Saturday nights! The staff are so accommodating. Our daughter loved the kids club and the evening entertainment although a little more low key was excellent. All in all I couldn’t rate this place any higher. A wonderful holiday!…
I returned here with my adult son and daughter for a long weekend in the sun. As this was a return visit I was already aware of the excellent food, service, and rooms, but this time selected a swim-up suite. On reading the reviews I requested a south west facing pool to enjoy the sunshine and pool all afternoon as we are aware some swim ups only get morning sunshine. The hotel amended our booking and the room and pool were lovely, the food was also excellent and plentiful, the adult's pool was chilled and the swim-up bar made us delicious "mudslide" cocktails on request. The management went out of their way to make us comfortable and we were given a complimentary room as had a late check-out and evening flight. There are only 2 small negatives, we had a poor room service afternoon tea that we waited an hour and a half for however, the manager refunded this. The only other slight negative is that the hotel decor looks tired compared to our visit 5 years ago and is in need of a refurb and lick of paint. Apart from that, excellent and relaxing stay, many thanks to the manager and his team of staff for making us feel welcome, we will return!…
This is our fifth visit to The Protour Biomar Gran Hotel and Spa only missing last summer due to the COVID restrictions. We stay in a junior suite and this time again we were on the third floor in the second block. This is preferable to us as it is closer to the family pool area. The rooms are large and spacious and have a good amount of wardrobe and storage space although there isn’t really anywhere specific to store your suitcases other than in the second bedroom with the pull out sofa bed. This is fine for us as we just have one child with us however if there were two guests in there, space may become an issue. The beds in the main bedroom are extremely large and pushed together. The beds are extra firm and we do find that we get up with backache due to the firmness of the mattress but as the holiday goes on, we become more used to this. The bedsheets appear to be changed often if not everyday and the room is cleaned daily to a high standard. Toiletries are replenished each day…. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath/shower gel, shower caps and toothbrushes. There are also cotton pads, ear buds, nail file, shoe polish, feminine hygiene products and a sewing kit (I’m sure I have probably still missed some items!) There is a large bath with an extendable shower head, a large separate shower, twin wash basins with plenty of surface and storage space including three large drawers. A separate room with toilet and bidet. The bathroom towels are also replaced daily. There is a basic hairdryer in the room but this is very slow so I generally prefer to bring my own. The main wardrobe has sliding doors, behind one is space to hang clothes and behind the second door lots of storage shelves. The safe is also placed on one of these shelves and is available to use free of charge. To the side of the wardrobe is a desk, chair and a fairly large tv. We didn’t really use this but I don’t think there are many English channels available. The two rooms are divided by sliding frosted glass doors. In the second room, there is a double sofa bed, a small armchair and a couple of bedside tables. There is a tv unit above more storage which also holds the small mini fridge which is a very welcome addition to the room. There is also a small tea and coffee making facility and again we did not use this but from previous experience this is replenished daily. A long hallway with floor to ceiling mirrors and another large wardrobe with hanging and shelving also holds an iron and ironing board. These were in very good condition. The junior suite has two small balconies, one of which has a table and two chairs plus a fold away clothes airer (small) Two glass lifts in each building mean you are never waiting long to get downstairs. Outside there are two main pool areas, a family pool and an adult pool with swim up bar. The family pool area is very nice but not exactly themed for children. There is one small elephant slide leading into the pool. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols, quite a few balanise beds with shade curtains. There is also an area under pergolas that gets the afternoon shade. The only downside to this area (and we only found this on our current visit) was a very large family we’re continually smoking in this area. I would have expected that the family area should be a smoke free zone! The adult pool is generally much quieter and again has a large selection of sun loungers and beds available. There is also an indoor pool which is located in the second building. We have used this previously when we wanted to escape the heat for a while. This year, you had to get a code from reception to enter this area, I’m sure this is just to limit numbers whilst still living through the pandemic. Pool towels are given on arrival and can be changed daily near the pool area. This is only available for one hour each day (10-11am) it used to be between 5-6pm which we believed worked much better as you had clean towels ready for the next day rather than taking dirty wet towels back to your room to store overnight. The terrace grill is the only place within the hotel to go for food and drinks over lunch time. The menu is not very extensive but the food is nice and made fresh. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, especially Karen (I didn’t get her surname) and Javier Gonzales. Some days they were rushed off their feet but always had time to come over and say hello or have a little chat. There is a boutique on the complex that sells ladies clothing, shoes, jewellery and handbags, it’s quite pricey but they have some nice things available. This year, they also had a small rail of men’s clothes too. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 8am until 11am and for dinner from 7pm until 10pm. Breakfast is very varied and even has separate sections for gluten free diets etc. At dinner again there is a lot of choice and each evening the chef has a selection of meats and fish (probably 5 of each choices each night) that are cooked fresh on your request. We traveled with a friend who is coeliac and the only thing he really didn’t get much choice of was desserts. The rest of us definitely made up for this on his belalf! Again the staff in the restaurant work tremendously hard and are always happy to help. Special mentions to Alexandro and Thomas , I’m afraid I didn’t get the names of the others but there were definitely more. In the piano bar, there is live music on each evening for a couple of hours. This is always enjoyable and many families go here after dinner to have a drink or cocktail, listen to the music or play card games etc. The management are always present in the hotel and often come over to chat and find out how your holiday is going. Reception are on the ball and when requesting extra pillows and coat hangers, they were there within minutes of our request, as was the service engineer when we had a problem with our air conditioning. The hotel have a large selection of bicycles available free of charge for guests to use between the hours of 9am and 6pm. We had some enjoyable rides up and down the coast to the neighbouring villages. We personally would have preferred to get our bikes earlier than this mainly to cycle when it is cooler but also it is much quieter. Some days we were allowed others we were made to wait until after 9am….. quite annoying really! There are other sporting activities available to guests of the hotel and we played the two different courses of the crazy golf. Our son enjoyed this but I feel it is worth mentioning that the courses are looking a little tired. The main thing that makes this hotel so enjoyable for us is mainly the friendliness of the staff, from the gardeners, pool guards, maids, waiting staff, receptionist and management, every one of them have a smile on their face and greet you as you pass by. The other thing is the food. We have stayed in lots of hotel in and around Spain and the islands and this is hands down the nicest food we have had with the greatest variation too. If I had to grumble about anything it would be the issue of people smoking, designated smoking areas would be much better especially keeping these areas away from families with children and letting you take their bikes earlier than 9am, after all it’s light from much earlier than that. Overall….. a great hotel made all the more enjoyable by the wonderful staff members!…
Good food, service, super spa and massage and nice pool! One of The best hotels in Sa Coma. We will for sure come again here! Thank you for such a nice vacation! Nothing to complain. The waitress was very fast and worked hard. Everything was prepared to make us feel special.
