Wonderful hotel with good facilities and fantastic food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment is also delightful. The indoor swimming pool whilst small is more than adequate for the kids to have a splash. The hotel is close to the beach and local amenities are also within close proximity. Palma and what it has to offer a short bus ride away. The airport is also a short drive away but is far enough not to be a noise nuisance when you are relaxing on the beach or by the pool.

The rooms could do with more cooking and cleaning equipment e.g carving knife or a chef’s knife, cooking utensils, cleaning scrubs etc. An oven rather than a microwave would be useful for those looking to cook and eat in. The daily cleaning routine needs to be more thorough or the hotel should equip rooms with a broom etc to allow those who want a tidy space to do top up on the cleaning or clean up sand after a stroll on the beach.

Overall fantastic hotel and would visit again!

My Husband and I stayed at the hotel at the start of September in a Junior Suite with a sea view.

Overall we had a lovely stay and found that the hotel bar offered very reasonably priced drinks and tasty food for snacking on and was always popular with hotel guests in the afternoon. The resort was clean and tidy and staff were always friendly and willing to help you.

There was a strict mask policy when inside the hotel and staff seemed very keen on ensuring Covid protocols were followed. We felt safe throughout our trip.

The pool isn’t huge, but there are plenty of sunbeds available but if you don’t find one, you can walk just across the road to a GORGEOUS sandy beach, which is absolutely huge. You’ll never be short of space on this beach and the sand is a fantastic fine powder.

Our room was spacious and modern with a small sofa for relaxing on, his and hers double sinks with separate toilet and shower plus a balcony over looking the sea. We did find that whilst the rooms were ‘cleaned’ every day, empty glasses were not always removed or replaced so it didn’t feel as clean as I would have liked but it wasn’t a deal breaker, there are worse things that could happen!

We noticed some of the rooms had built in towel rails on the balcony for drying off swimwear, but bizarrely ours didn’t? Would have been nice to have one of these rather than hanging the wet towels and swimwear over the edge of the balcony and on the chairs.

We only ate in the main restaurant for breakfast so cannot comment on the dinner menu, but breakfast has something for everyone. From fresh pancakes and fried eggs to pastries and continental meats and cheese as well as fruit, the selection is great, you won’t go hungry! I think one morning they maybe even had smoked salmon and champagne?

Nearby we found plenty of fantastic restaurants to eat at, with all kinds of cuisines. I highly recommend l’artista pizzeria napoletana which is about 10-15 mins walk along the beach towards the marina. Honestly, you CANNOT go wrong, it got fully booked most nights we were there and we went twice. Dribbling just thinking about it!

Palma is 20 mins away by taxi so if you want to venture out to visit the cathedral or more restaurants etc it’s easily reachable.

It’s not the fanciest hotel I’ve ever stayed, but it overall if you are looking for a relaxed low key holiday for a bit of sun that doesn’t break the bank you’ll be more than satisfied.

All the staff were very helpful & polite, accommodation, was very clean and comfortable, my 5yr old twins loved the heated pool and evening entertainment, (magician was very funny) great sunrise & sunset views from our balcony. We have been to Majorca 3 times in the past and would go back to this hotel again for sure. Getting around by bus was very easy, the cathedral is a must, €1.50 each way children are free, stopped off at Lidl on the way back to stick up on booze!! 😀.....
hotel is a massive 10/10

The concept of an aparthotel seemed like a good idea but in reality it would have been cheaper to go to a different hotel and get two rooms and two bathrooms cheaper than this was. The apartment itself was supposed to be superior but you couldn’t actually walk round the beds in the rooms as they were so small. The bedroom and bathroom didn’t have a window which meant the bathroom was constantly damp and the bedroom was a bit like a cell and didn't even have a mirror or bin in it. The shower never fully emptied and the rooms never seemed to be totally cleaned properly. The lounge overlooked a football club and they were shouting until 11pm every night. We had to ask three times to get the TV looked at as we couldn’t get Sky news. The indoor pool is tiny, seven strokes long!! The lounge bar was hit and miss at best certain staff we avoided because the HOT chocolate they made was without fail always cold. Whenever we asked reception anything the answer was always no, not overly helpful. The food was ok most of the week but the last night was not the best and sometimes we’d managed to get to pudding before anyone even took our drinks order. The final straw was arriving back in the UK to find a voicemail from the hotel saying we had underpaid and we had to ring them to sort this out (we had paid in cash the full amount on arrival) the email trail that then followed made it clear they were talking about a totally different customer as they thought we’d arrived late afternoon and we arrived mid morning and they also said we’d paid some of it on a credit card!!! Have never encountered such problems at any other hotel in Palma and have been visiting the island for last 40 years at least once a year!! Could not recommend and would not go back.

My wife and I regularly spend a few days indulging ourselves in a hotel stay in Can Pastilla early in January, but this year we had to find a new venue as our preferred hotel was closed for refurbishment. Research on TA suggested Fontanellas Playa would be a suitable alternative, so we booked directly with the hotel, deciding on a seaview junior suite to provide us with ample space to relax. We were very happy with the room: it was very comfortable and, being on the fifth floor, was also very quiet. The interior design of the hotel means that the main corridors are away from the doors to the rooms, so we never heard suitcases being wheeled along or footsteps directly outside our door. The only minor irritant was the interior light just inside the door which was automatically triggered if one of us got up during the night to visit the loo: it tended to wake up the other one of us! Staff were friendly and obliging, and the food options were extensive and, for the most part, beautifully presented. We were, however, a little disappointed with some of the hot food selections, but perhaps that was because they didn't quite match what we had previously enjoyed at our regular hotel. It was no major hardship, though, as there was so much else to choose and enjoy. An extra and unexpected pleasure was the gift of a bottle of cava, as I celebrated my birthday while we were there. Overall, therefore we were very satisfied with Fontanellas Playa as our base for four days and would definitely be happy to pay a return visit in the future.

The hotel is modern and clean. We chose it because of the proximity to the beach and the wide range of family friendly facilities.
There's a mini club and indoor and outdoor pool for the kids. It's so close to the sandy beach as well.
There's entertainment in the evening and a spa and gym for the grownups.
You can have a really nice breakfast with a huge variety of foods and drinka and dinner is also offered (we decided not to do half board, deciding only for breakfast).
The location is great- bus stop around the corner of you want to go to Palma, aquarium is also across the street and the hotel looks right onto the beach.
You don't even need to go far to the supermarket as there's one inside the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and clean. Rooms are pretty. Beach view is excellent.
WiFi in rooms is not very good, it is slow and very often shuts down/disappers. The exterior door of the rooms closes with a very large impact that produces a very loud noise. There should be note on the doors “Please do no slam the doors”. If your room is above the bar/restaurante in the 1 st floor, you will hear the music with all the bass, coming from downstairs bar/ restaurante ( ~ from 8PM till 10/11 PM).
In february the out side pool was closed, so everybody went to the inside pool. And you know what? You can’t enjoy it! Because it is always overcrowded and the water is very chlorine. Also, there should be an employee who should make the order in there - there is a sign at the pool “no jumping in the pool”, well, little kids do it every now and then and it is fine, but when adults do it...and it is supposed to be a quiet zone...there are sigh at the wall “Shhhh”.

Wonderful hotel and location. The room was well maintained and spotless, and cleaned well. The pool was always well looked after and sun lounges always available thanks to the great policy of not allowing reservations. Food was varied and delicious. There are not too many hotels in the area so the beach always had space. Excellent staff who were friendly and took action when asked. Great for families, the kids club and disco were well organized and our children loved every minute.

Will be returning again next year!

We arrived to Mallorca at difficult times when next day travel warnings for COVID 19 was announced by many countries in Europe. Nevertheless, this did not stop us from enjoying the wonderful time at the hotel. The Excellent hygiene Standards and precaution measures taken by the hotel made us feel very safe. Wonderful and kind staff who are always ready to assist and advise. The hotel is directly on the beach. We had a superior apartment with a clear view to the sea! You could feel that you are at the beach just by looking from the room window or sitting at the balcony. The apartment room was modern and had all what you need of kitchen appliances. I would recommend this hotel without any reservation!! Thank you all for providing us with a wonderful great time! Keep safe!!

Okay, so I went back and forth on ranking this three or four stars. I had several issues with this stay. But first the good. Excellent and accommodating staff. Excellent location. Excellent room quality. Now the bad. Disco music played by the hotel on some nights until 11:00 pm. Motion sensor lights that blast you with light if you get up to use the restroom at 2:00 am. The worst, however, is smoking. I paid for a non-smoking room, but if every other room around you is sitting on their balcony and smoking, it means that you cannot open your balcony door unless you want to enjoy their cigarettes as well. I believe that culturally Europeans smoke more than Americans, so this is a bigger deal for me, but I would have liked to have been able to open my balcony doors and listen to the waves lap against the shore. This was impossible, not to mention, it's a party atmosphere for them late into the evening, on the balcony, dragging chairs, taking and laughing. Which is great, that's their vacation experience and I don't begrudge them that. It just makes it difficult to sleep if your already jetlagged and nextdoor to it. My guess is that this hotel caters to older European partiers. For them, five stars all the way.

Hi How much is a taxi from the airport to Hotel Fontanellas? And is it easy to get a Taxi?

We took the bus from the airport that dropped us right off in front of the hotel. :). It was super fast and an easy experience.

There was entertainment for the kids which they all enjoyed from what I could see but no idea about later in the year. I can not see any reason why you can not eat and drink your own food and drink around the pool as it is semi-self catering, we saw others eating and drinking so no problem. Plenty of little shops, even one right next to the pool where you can go out a side gate to it for bits if needed. They supply you with pool towels for a deposit, you then get a ticket and you'll see the guy in a Red tee-shirt who gives them out, I think the deposit was 20 euros each but you get it back. He's also the guy that watches for people abandoning their places for hours and he'll pack up their items to free the Sun-beds which I totally agreed with. It's a great place with a fantastic location.

We had a sofa bed in our room although we had no reason to pull it out, e-mail the Hotel directly and they'll answer this question

They do have bigger balcony's, ask where your room is as if you are at the rear it looks out towards the airport which is about three miles away as the crow flies. When they are coming in and out from right to left no rean problem but take-off from left to right and there is some noise, nothing if you're at the front.
