The Holiday Village Majorca - Protur Monte Safari is a family-centric hotel celebrated for its multitude of amenities, including pools and dining options, all upheld by commendable staff dedication. While its vibrant atmosphere and entertainment are highlights for many guests, some feel that the value for money is lacking due to perceived overpriced services.
The hotel's cleanliness receives applause, although room upkeep and comfort have room for improvement. Its secluded location offers tranquility with convenient shuttle service to the beach, despite some guests finding it too remote.

Detailed Reviews
Just back and with 2 weeks quarantine on our hands plenty of time to do a review.....
We went as a family of five and were not apprehensive about travelling but were apprehensive about what a holiday would be like in a Covid 19 World.
Firstly Covid precautions: the hotel was faultless, all staff wear masks, hands have to be cleaned and sanitised before entering restaurants, there are clear social distancing markers at the bar and all guests were very respectful of personal space.
You’d think that masks would make for a cold atmosphere but far from it, the staff were really friendly and seemed genuinely pleased we’d taken the effort to travel.
With capacity at 10% the hotel is quite quiet, but doesn’t feel empty, it still felt busy but without a rush for a sun bed, a crowded pool or crowded restaurants.
Food was great the extra wait for it to be freshly cooked is worth it and the three a la cartes added variety, the Italian was our favourite.
The TUI entertainment team were brilliant, there were lots of swimming pool activities in the day and massive credit to the energy and enthusiasm of the evening entertainment team. They made for a great atmosphere, brilliant music quizzes and the kids loved the entertainment too. Evenings made for a really special atmosphere and were added to be the intimacy of the smaller numbers.
Any gripes? The high ropes course was closed, and the mattress was not the comfiest but we that’s about it.
We got the bus into town, the beach is lovely but the bars were very quiet , with many closed, worth a change of scenery but probably best staying at the hotel.
Really hope the restrictions get lifted for the team at the hotel soon, they could nothing more to create a safe environment whilst still keeping a great holiday atmosphere.

We stayed here last September as part of our cruise and stay package. What a lovely hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are very spacious with everything you need big bathroom with walk in shower fridge to put your water etc in and a tv with a good selection of uk channels. Plenty of options for food they have a big buffet restaurant open in the mornings and evenings for dinner they also have a buffet lunch option by the bar near the pools they have different themes everyday. They have a kebab snack shack which also has soft drinks ice cream and a beer tap with lager in it that is near the adults chill out zone. We enjoyed the food lovely fresh salads plenty of different options kids had lots of options too. They have three themed restaurants you can book once while you stay an Italian,Indian and Thai. We tried the Italian and Indian both beautiful food. They have 2 big pools aswell as a kids pool with small water slides. They have a kids club on site which we used once with our little one. Plenty of sun beds for all. They have a shuttle bus that runs all day to take you into town the driver was very friendly and put music on for the kids most of us adults loved it too. We really enjoyed our stay here we will definitely be back thanks for a wonderful week.

An honest review ( not a moaning one as I couldn’t get my own way or forgetting it’s covid!)
A great hotel/village. They’ve done very well considering it’s a covid holiday. People are moaning on here because they can’t book activities… yes very difficult BUT you can only have 1 family at a time doing them usually more at one time could do them but now they still to 1 family at a time, people moaning they couldn’t book one… WHOOPIE DO!
Staff are very friendly.
They provide a mini bus to the beach which is 10 mins away, a great service.
The food is very good! Again seen some people moaning on here… they have a main buffet restaurant an Italian, Asian and Indian! What more can you want?! Regardless if you’re booked for a week or 2 weeks you can visit each restaurant once, which makes sense as the hotel is always at capacity (or 75%) so how long you’re there for doesn’t matter really. At the buffet it was always something different. Breakfast offered full cooked, great continental, waffles, freshly made pancakes, freshly made omelettes, fried eggs how you want them etc and for the pancakes and waffles they have Nutella (not a cheap version).
Drinks available all day, I recommend getting a pint plastic cup from the shops (The Spar near the beach has them) you can fill your drinks up by the pool with them which is better than the paper cups.
They have great ice cream available where you can pick your toppings and they have DONNER KEBABS!! Yes a Donner kebab in an all inclusive… I couldn’t believe my eyes!
In the evening they have the main entertainment with a main bar, they have very quick behind the bar and you don’t wait long even in a big queue they must of had 8-10
staff working the bar. The main entertainment is great for little kids, I think the kids stuff goes on too long though. The quizzes they do aren’t the best and they could be better if they got teams with 2 people on the stage, they can still do this around covid … hit a saucepan with a spoon or honk a horn to answer rather than just splitting the audience A & B and everyone screaming out. The entertainers really can’t sing either and the shows are pretty pants! The American chap they hired was excellent! You expect more of that standard each night, if you’re looking at cost saving then maybe acts like that 3 times a week as the other nights were pretty bad and not very interactive.
The pools are very nice and plenty of, get your bed sorted around 7:45 and stay at it until 8am then it’s safe, beds go quickly like many hotels in the summer. Again people moaning but you can’t have as many beds out due to covid!
The amount of trips available are low and poor we booked none as none interested us at all which is a holiday first.
The beach is lovely get there before 10:30am to get a sun bed.
Overall a great holiday in tough circumstances for the hotel. Great food and great staff…. And Donner kebabs! Still can’t quite believe it.

I’ll try and cover everything to give a fair picture based on our experience. It’s our last day today and I’m writing this whole everything is fresh in my mind
Firstly the negatives - this is definitely not a five star hotel. We have stayed at TUi resorts in other countries that are five star and are far superior to this. Table service for drinks is non existent. Every time you want a drink you need to go up and queue at the bar to be served. The buffet does become repetitive and you’re only allowed one visit to each a la carte restaurant regardless of the length of your stay here. The staff in the buffet are efficient and clear your plates quickly most of yet time although sometimes plates were piling up around us.
The middle ground - it’s a very family based hotel with all the entertainment aimed at kids. This suited us, and while the entertainment was very loud and repetitive you can’t fault the effort put in by the entertainment team, even if the ability is somewhat lacking! Do not come here if you want peace and quiet and/or you don’t have kids. The hotel felt Covid safe although the sun beds are rammed together around the pools and in the evening for the entertainment everyone is pretty close together. You need to be up around 8am if you want to chose where you want to spend the day around the pools.
And now the positives - the reception staff are brilliant, in particular Demi, who couldn’t do enough to help whenever we asked for anything. There is a reliable free minibus service into town which runs every fifteen minutes or so. The American comedian they had on one night was fantastic. The rooms were kept clean each day and the room we had was spacious with a pool view. The entertainment staff try their very best I think to keep the kids happy and Elaine and CJ are great with the children.
Would we come back here, probably not. Especially as the same ten days next year are being quoted at over a grand more on top of a holiday which wasn’t cheap in the first place. We may well look at other Holiday Villages though, although seven days is probably better than ten, based on the repeated/similar entertainment and buffet food choices

Don’t listen to all the negative reviews
Just back from a weeks holiday here after reading reviews I really didn’t know what to expect, the hotel has pros and cons but this is what I’ve seen and experienced whilst being here.
Pros
Very clean hotel
Themed food nights
Excellent staff
Rooms have a safe, hair dryer and some toiletries
Excellent pools
All inclusive
Free shuttle bus to the beach every 10 mins
Cons
Over an hour transfer depending on drop offs
Warm weather attracts ants which we had on our balcony but none in the room
No cigs sold in the hotel
The pros deffo beat the cons
From getting there the first day I was very surprised the hotel was better than what I had read and the whole week was amazing people tend to put towels down on beds before 8am but seen them getting removed as the beds get cleaned - I went down every day between 8-8:30 and got beds no problems the food I can’t complain as there really is something for everyone and if you have and allergy’s they will cook things fresh and accommodate you.
The shop in the hotel is pretty expensive so this is a watch out but 6 mins walk from the hotel heading towards town is similar price to back home if not cheaper - there is a bud into town every 10 mins which was amazing and the guy who drives the bus Manuel is really friendly.
Tobacco shop in town is cheaply priced but all genuine stuff €40 ish for 200 sterling dual cigs
The drinks in the hotel are what you expect from a Spanish all inclusive but they do Smirnoff and Bacardi for no extra cost which is good.
The hotel has 5 pools a splash zone and an adults only pool spa and indoor pool all of which are clean
This hotel is fantastic for family’s with children but wouldn’t recommend for couples with no children as it’s all for the kids which we enjoyed
Other reviews state problems and issues but honestly I couldn’t fault the hotel and have rebooked for the same dates next year.
Some people have been to other all inclusive hotels and may have had better experiences, I’ve been to turkey and loved it but Majorca is just over 2 hours from Manchester airport and loads for the kids to do.

Well what can I say , this was an amazing holiday from start to finish .
On arrival we were greeted at the coach by Reece one of the reps who took us inside the reception area which is bright and airy , fro there we proceeded to check in with a glass of bubbly and were given a map of the hotel and looked after so well by Demi the reception manager .
Safety deposit boxes were free , pool towels available on deposit , and given our all inclusive bands .
From reception a lovely lad took our bags to the room for us .
The room was lovely , two sofas in the living room , a fridge with a bottle of water , table and chairs , a bathroom with a huge walk In shower , plenty of storage in the hall , and in the bedroom two single beds pushed together with more storage space .
After we had settled ourselves we made our way to the buffet restaurant , where on entry you have hand washing stations and after hand sanitising stations . Food here was really nice , travelling with two people who are fussy eaters there was not one meal that didn’t satisfy . There was something for everyone at every meal . Wine and beer on tap , and soft drinks machine that you can self serve , and a couple of these dotted around the pool areas also which was fantastic . The pool bar lunch was equally as good and the kebabs from spicy and mint at the bottom pool were really lovely . The kids loved the ice cream from there aswell .
Now onto the entertainment and kids club ! Absolute 10/10 . Edel , CJ , Kellie and Elaine work their socks off , from morning quizzes to pool parties to PTY , and even though my kids are older they loved the widgets . Activities like the aerial adventure , paddle boarding , golf , circus school , the twin racer on the pool , there was not a moment my two could say they were bored .
Both my kids cried last night saying goodbye to everyone , and we have already booked to return in may 2022 , and if that’s not testament enough to what an amazing place this is , I don’t know what else could be .
Mask wearing indoors was not an issue , everyone I saw wore a mask indoors , and then removed while eating . We are living in new strange times and if this is what we have to do to have a fantastic holiday I’m ok with it .
Give this place a go , you won’t regret it . I for one cannot wait to get back .

We have just returned from a week at this resort (14th - 21st July) and would like to share our thoughts summed up in Hotel and Experience:
Hotel
Super clean and staff excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very helpful throughout the break. We stayed in 2201 which overlooked the main pools and quickly realised that if you wanted a sunbed by the edge of the pool so that you could watch your children then you had to be in place by 7am - pretty much all of the sunbeds in all areas had been reserved by 8am yesterday. Pool towels are €10 cash deposit each and can be changed at the Spa as required. Room was cleaned 6/7 days which was fine however as others have mentioned, the air conditioning in the room was pretty much non existent and only seemed to work if the room was empty or had no movement. Hairdryer was great and as someone who never relies on a hotel hairdryer and takes their own, then you can save some space in your case. The food was catered to British families and a huge choice for children which meant our fussy 12 year old ate very well all week. As a vegetarian, again I managed perfectly well for a week and the vegetable pizza at the Italian restaurant was excellent. There is a very well stocked ice cream freezer in the pool bar and slushy on tap for the kids too. Couple of tips if travelling soon - take a small fan as very hot at the moment and also mosquito repellent for the evenings. The entertainment is loud and can be heard throughout the resort but it finishes at around 10.30pm or shortly afterwards and then it’s pretty quiet after that.
Experience
A very lively resort for families and excellent for under 10’s in my opinion. This was booked when our daughter was 10 and the reality of a 3 year break in holidays due to Covid (her being 9 for our last break and now 12) was something I hadn’t factored in. She wasn’t interested in the entertainment (day or evening) and spent most of the time in the deep pool (1.8m) or on a lounger. Therefore in hindsight, we could have gone anywhere and to a quieter resort. We walked to Cala Millor one evening for a break which was lovely and took about 30 minutes and we also booked the TUI excursion to Palma which was brilliant. We had 6.5 hours in Palma as we had booked the free time trip and it was lovely to see the city and harbour.
The HV staff were fantastic with the children and really went out of their way to create a memorable holiday for them. We would not return due to the reasons given above however I would highly recommend it for families with children between 4 & 9.

+1
We came towards end of September into October. Lovely hotel, staff very attentive on arrival & during the stay. Lots of kids club activities for kids in the kids club it’s self and pool side. Tui staff at hotel were helpful when booking excursions.
The hotel and rooms were very clean. We had a swim up room and it was lovely, block 3 gets the most sun so we enjoyed sitting and chilling by our own pool in the sun for times in afternoon. Definitely worth the extra money. The room was cleaned daily which is a nice touch.
Two weeks stay probably was a bit too long, everything became quite repetitive food, entertainment etc. Probably more suited to a weeks stay. For staying two weeks you still only get 3 tokens for the other restaurants to use, which i thought was a bit rubbish.
The food was nice in the other restaurants, the main buffet area was a bit hit or miss. Your best getting there for opening as sometimes when we went a bit later the food was lukewarm or not much variety left.
Beach Towel hire €10 deposit per towel.
The Pools were far too cold for smaller children, not sure in height of summer how cold they would be. Some days the little one refused to go in because of it, a lot of older kids enjoyed being in the pool. The hotel could do with heating them up a bit. There’s a kids splash park and water park area again still very cold.
We booked 5 days of swimming lessons for the little one too which was €40. They do football lessons too (but I think they stop certain seasons)
The spa was nice too, we went the day before coming home. Plenty of choice in massages etc. Friendly staff. Pool indoors here too is cold.
The shuttle bus was a great service too, the driver was so nice and chatty. Only takes 5-10 Min drive to Cala Millor, 15min walking.

Myself & my husband booked this hotel after seeing it on our drop off/pick up route on our babymoon & thought ‘it looks suitable for kids. One day we will return’. Indeed we did return 18 months later with my parents in law.
Everything was fine journey wise & we soon arrived at the hotel. We had drinks on arrival & was shown to our room. Great we thought, brilliant view of the main stage where the entertainment was & a slight view of the pool. What we didn’t know was how loud the entertainment would be & how late it went on. Don’t get me wrong, you can fault the entertainment team - they are brilliant but I think staff need to be more considerate when placing guests in rooms. If your child wants to stay up for the entertainment each night then put them closest to the action. When you have an 18 month old, trying to get him to sleep with all the music & cheering is hard. We weren’t the only family thinking this.
The pools for toddlers & babies could only be used for a matter of minutes as the water was absolutely FREEZING! You weren’t leave them in their too long with worry they will catch a cold. The pool with slides in for the kids is covered which is good to protect their skin but it means the water doesn’t see the sun making it unbearable to have fun.
I’d say those 2 points are the only negatives to the hotel. The restaurant is good - clean & always somewhere to sit. They have different themed nights which gives you variety through the week. Just be prepared for your kid to eat chips all week as the variety of food for kids isn’t great.
There’s a shop on site under the main reception which has everything you need. We ended up in there everyday. It’s very home from home.
The play area at the bottom of the hotel next to the water park is brilliant. Families gather there & watch their children play with others. Brilliant to get a bit of shade time too.
The kebabs & ice cream at the bottom of the hotel are incredible! Highly recommend!
I think for us, Holiday Village wasn’t right for us. As a 1st holiday for our son, it was good, but if we’d managed to get some sleep & some fun in the pool it would of been better. For us, we will stick to Sensatori hotels moving forward.

We travelled to Mallorca as an extended family of 10 in August 2021 flying from Gatwick. The rooms were close together as requested and they were spacious and suitable for families with children ie there was a bedroom and sitting room with sofas. The food was an extensive self served buffet with plenty of options for children. There were handwashing facilities before entering the dining room and social distancing of tables. Masks were worn by adults indoors.
