Our third trip to this hotel. Always clean, with very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the town center and its bars and restaurants. Would not hesitate visiting again. Mijas Pueblo is becoming a must go to spot for us for a quiet restful break.
The hotel is clean, very well equipt and the rooms are of a good size. The staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in the foothills of the Sierra Mijas and you can walk the mountains from the doorstep. I took the bus from Mijas, went up the cable car at Benalmadena then walked back through the mountains to Mijas. It's strenuous and a full day of walking and you need to have a good sense of direction because the waymarks are a bit sparse in places. Mijas itself is charming with plenty of interest including bars, shops, a tourist information and pretty streets. Buses to Fuengirola and Benalmadena are frequent and cheap. All in all a good base if you want a bit of peace and quiet but within striking distance of the larger resorts. Definitely worth a stay here. …
The bed is the best I have ever slept in. The hotel is very well kept rooms could do with slightly updating, pool and gardens excellent. Food mostly very good depends on your personal choices, Would definitely come again.
Good hotel in a great location right on the edge of Mijas Pueblo, where there are plenty of goo restaurants. Traditionally elegant Spanish interior, nice small eating balcony facing out to the Med off the bar; nice pool. Great choice at breakfast. Room clean and comfortable. Great base for getting around the region, with the bus stop up the short rise from the hotel entrance. Regular service to Fuengirola form where you can get buses and trains to elsewhere. Staff very pleasant. All in all a good stay for 7 nights and would go back.
This is a little gem of a place in Pueblo Mijas, not to be confused with La Cala de Mijas. We stayed her for 4 nights, 5 days. Brekky was buffet with plenty of choices and staff are really friendly. We are deffo going back for a longer stay next time.
I have to say there are certain aspects of this hotel that were a disappointment. The reception area and staff were very nice and friendly but it was when we got to our room the disappointment set in. Firstly the furniture needs updating . The two wardrobes rattled and banged opening and closing. The two chairs were only suitable for children, they were wooden, very very low and very very uncomfortable. The bathroom certainly needed an upgrade. The bath was narrow, the overhead shower not particularly good and the shower curtain was awful. Because the bath was so narrow the curtain clung to you when showering. What it needed was a shower screen. The restaurant was quite large and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast there was plenty of fruit, bread, pastries but the hot food was only lukewarm. The evening meal was the same, good starters and desserts but the main courses left a lot to be desired. Most days there was chicken mainly small bits or wings, pork most days didn’t look particularly appetising and one day I had veal it was so overcooked I could hardly cut it.There were a few small areas to sit and a lounge near the bar. There was plenty of seating but most were uncomfortable or again very low. We managed to find a sofa with cushions which was the only place we found comfortable.Having said all of the above the hotel does have spectacular views and the balcony from our room was lovely to sit on in the afternoon and catch the sun.…
On arrival the staff were so welcoming & helpful. The food in the restaurant is fresh, plentiful with options to cover all tastes. Dishes are well prepared, not the unimaginative offerings often found in large hotels. Spotlessly clean in all areas. An easy walk into the town centre. Beds very comfortable.
Stayed here with a group. It is a great location from which to tour Andalucia. My room was located on the 2nd floor in the main part of the hotel. It was a standard twin room with a fridge, chargeable safe, a TV with some English channels and a kettle with some tea/coffee sachets. The hotel charges for additional tea/coffee, however, there is a supermarket just across the road from the hotel. I would rate this hotel as 3-Star. A refurbishment is in progress, e.g. carpet is being replaced with laminate flooring. Only downsides were that you can hear every sound from people in the next room and the wifi signal was weak. Breakfast and Dinner were buffet service, there was a good variety of choices but it was a little repetitive. I'd recommend exploring the many restaurants in Mijas. There is a good bar/sun terrace area which provides plenty of options for sitting indoors or outdoors. There is no entertainment, which is not a problem as there are plenty of bars in town that have entertainment and/or live sporting events. The hotel offers a Spa facility. Some of my group booked massages, facials and body treatments and said they were amazing, worth the slightly high price. All of the hotel staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. …
We booked a week with Jet 2 to this hotel to relax, enjoy some warmth and brighter days. The hotel is very traditional and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We upgraded our room and it was very comfortable - particularly the beds. The bathroom was huge with complimentary toiletries. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. Areas of the marble floor showed some staining, but that is probably due to the age of the bathroom rather than not being properly clean. We didn't have a problem with that. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom which is not super powerful but it does the job. There is a socket right by the mirror in the bedroom where I used my own hairdryer. The carpet was quite obviously old and due for replacement. There was some staining but again, this did not unduly bother us. Some rooms are currently undergoing refurbishment with new flooring (see photo), I also took a photo of an unmade bed at the same time to show what they are like. Room serviced everyday. There is a kettle and fridge in the room. Mugs rather than t-cups are provided on the tray. We didn't use the fridge. Do bring your own teabags etc because you only get a complimentary initial supply. You can purchase more in reception. You can hire a safe for a small charge as is usual in a lot of Spanish hotels. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. There is a lovely outside terrace where you can see right down to the coast - which is frankly better viewed from a distance! In the bar area you can order lunchtime sandwiches/pizza etc. As with a lot of Spanish hotels, there is piped music but we didn't find this too intrusive. We were on a half board basis but ate out some nights. The food was perfectly fine. You'd have to be a really fussy eater to not find anything you like. Very typical buffet food. We felt the breakfast offering was better than dinner but we never left hungry. There is a chef who cooks that night's meat or fish to order which we enjoyed. The ambience in the dining room in the evening would be improved by dimming the lights just a little - it is rather bright! However, the service was excellent, the staff are very attentive. In the reception area is a small library for the use of guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at TRH Mijas and intend to return next year. Mijas Pueblo itself was a delight. We felt our holiday was really good value for money and we are already looking forward to our next visit.…
Came to this hotel with a group. Rooms were musty, old stained carpet, some had ants infestations at the door, hot water was non existent at arrival, air conditioning was non functional, constant noise from people walking up and down metal stairs. The food was buffet style and the deserts were there for a while. Save yourself the trouble...other places are much more inviting. Overall, this dated resort has not been maintained to a proper standard. Some of the worst rooms in our group were relocated to renovated rooms in the main building. When there were no more rooms available, the the remaining people in our group needed to stay put. Strongly not recommend
