We originally booked for feb 21 then flights where cancelled, Straight away Les got back to me with dates he had available, we re booked but once again flights where cancelled, Les was absolutely fantastic changing our dates again, I think in the end we had around 7 cancelled flights. When filling in forms I messaged Les a few times on how to fill them in and he was so helpful.
On the way to la Cala Les filled us in with covid rules for the area we only had to wear masks on public transport and in shops
As always we had a fabulous time, we love coming to L’escala it’s a perfect location with lots of great bars and restaurants close by, the hotel is stunning, spotlessly clean, Les and David go out of their way to make your stay special.
We had to have a antigen test 48hrs before we flew home and Les helped me book our tests and took us for the appointment, the testing was really quick and easy took around 10 minutes for all 4 of us to take tests and get results,
Can not thank Les and David enough for all their help with rearranging dates. It wasn’t easy but we got there in the end and so glad we did
See you in November! 🤞

I stayed in room 2 for 3 weeks in July/August, All safety measures were in place and a very relaxed time was had by all in our party. We made use of all public areas of the hotel and there was space for everyone to mingle whilst observing social distancing.
All areas of the house and garden are kept to a very high standard and serviced daily, Nothing is too much trouble for Les or David, both are always available for help and advice on restaurants, trips etc.
Thank you for all you do and see you again very soon.

This was our first time staying in L'escala Hotel and it exceeded all our expectations. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of different areas where you can sit and relax and our bedroom had a delightful balcony overlooking the pool. We were pleased to see that we had our own fridge in our room and water, wine, coffee, tea, milk and fruit were all compliments of our hosts on our arrival. We also had full access to a kitchen and washing machine. The gardens are beautifully maintained and of course there is the pool and plenty of loungers. This hotel is set in a quiet residential area which is a short walk to local restaurants and a supermarket. The beach is close by and you can walk for miles along the boardwalk. Cala de Mijas is a short walk along the boardwalk and there is an excellent range of restaurants and shops there. Public transport is very economical and efficient if you want to explore the area.
Les and David were our hosts at L'Escala Hotel and they made our holiday so special. Nothing is too much trouble and we have already rebooked for later this year.

This was a repeat visit so we’re obviously fans! Travelled as a group of 5 and stayed in top floor suite (with terrace and sea view) and a ground floor room (with private outdoor seating area.) We were picked up from the airport and whizzed along the coast to the lovely hotel. The location is up a hill less than 10 minutes’ walk from the scrupulously clean beach and a selection of bars and shops. Les and David work hard to make all their guests comfortable and it really shows. The hotel is spotless everywhere, it’s all tastefully decorated with good quality fittings throughout. You can really feel at home there. The aircon is most welcome during a heatwave! It says a lot that many -most? - of the guests are return visitors. A real gem of a hotel.

If you're looking for a great place to stay in Cala de Mijas, then look no further. Hosts Les and David, along with their wonderful, hard-working team, will make your stay truly unforgettable. This is a boutique hotel with rooms and apartments where nothing has been overlooked and I can guarantee the welcome you'll receive will make you feel like a very special customer! I would describe this place as a little piece of paradise, oozing with personality and quirkiness; just 10 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes walk to a local supermarket, restaurants and bars, a quiet pool and garden to while away the hours....what's not to love? We met many customers who were here for the 3rd, 4th and 5th time, so those statistics speak for themselves. My only piece of advice would be to book well in advance as this unique place is extremely popular!

Just home from another amazing holiday at l'escala. The hotel is absolutely spotless, less than 5 minutes from the beach and cafes/restaurants. The hosts David and Les are always on hand for anything you need. There was masks and sanitizer waiting on us arriving. Laundry room with beach towels available was so handy too for the pool and beach. Fantastic kitchen fitted with everything you would need and air con in every room. This is our 11th year as we absolutely love it. Home from home! Cant wait to next year. Totally recommend

I have just returned from 10 days holiday at L’escala and can honestly say I didn’t want to leave and is by far the best holiday I’ve had in years.
From the moment we arrived we were surrounded by beauty and pure luxury. Everywhere was spotless, and given the current climate I felt completely at ease and safe. Our apartment was amazing, again absolutely immaculate, with fresh fruit and bottle of wine 🥂 Les and David are the most welcoming and gracious of hosts nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure your stay is a happy and memorable one. Jethroe their little dog so cute and adorable 🐶 The pool area is so relaxing , comfy sun beds surrounded by all different types of flowers in a array of vibrant colours truly paradise.
Also you can sit in the Copacabana Bar, covered with mementoes of years of travel and wonderful stories behind each one, sumptuous sofa to relax and read a book or just chill with a cocktail 🍹
Surrounding area a short walk 5mins to Bars, Restaurants supermarket and the Beach 🏖
I would like to say a huge thank you to Les and David for a very relaxing and amazing holiday truly blown away by their hotel and hospitality and truly deserve their award , exceptional service and I will be back as soon as I can 🥰🥂xx

I stayed at this hotel, along with family and friends, for a wedding in April 2022. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Malaga, until we were dropped off at the airport several days later, our host Les could not have been more helpful. Providing lifts to and from the airport, giving advice on local attractions and amenities, and any other requests we had. This was a very personal and tailored experience that you will not find at most hotels.

The room was immaculate and very well presented. We had our own kitchen with a full set of utensils and found a bottle of wine and other bits and pieces waiting for us on arrival. The bathroom facilities were excellent. The room also had air conditioning and a TV with the usual English channels. Beach towels were provided by the hotel and we also had access to a hairdryer and iron.

The ceremony took place in the hotel gardens which was, for me, where this hotel really stands out. The gardener spent several hours, the day before the wedding, ensuring that no area was left neglected. The lawn was immaculate, surrounded by flowers, plants and trees. All this with the backdrop of the pool and adjacent "Copacabana" bar. A truly majestic wedding venue. Thank you David and Les for your wonderful hospitality!

Suitable for solo travellers, couples, families and small groups. Is this a small hotel or a villa? You get the best of both here. You can choose to self cater, eat out or a combination of both. Super eateries and food shops are within walking distance as is the village and beach. The hotel feels very safe and secure with a walled garden and two locked entrances plus resident Yorkie, Jethro. Sleeping just 16 guests, rooms are spacious and have walk in showers. Room 4 has a shower over bath. Choose from twin or double rooms. Top floor has two bedrooms connected by the bathroom and a huge private sun terrace. There are stairs up to these rooms. Lower ground floor has a self contained apartment sleeping four. This has its own separate access from the pavement. Ground level has four bedrooms all with outside balcony or terrace. There are three indoor dining areas and an indoor lounge. Kitchen has two huge fridges and cupboard space for each room. There is a lovely outdoor sun terrace with sea view. Gardens wrap around the property and are beautifully manicured. You can lounge around the medium sized pool or take a dip/swim. If the sun is too hot, relax in the Copacabana outdoor covered entertainment area. There are toilet facilities for the outdoor spaces. Accessibility note there are three steps down to the Copacabana and another step down into the garden. One small step up from pavement and one into main entrance.
David & Les are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. It’s a home from home. Airport transfers of a mere 20 minutes make this an ideal location. My sanctuary!

Thank you for your message and question . Our pool isn't heated but as it's the Costa del Sol the only months we don't recommend swimming in it are Dec , Jan and Feb . Guests are always in it by March ( some are brave and face it in Feb ) .
