Visited in June and the weather was perfect. This is a wonderful place to stay with friendly helpful owner and staff. Really made us feel welcome and could not do more to ensure we had a good holiday. Great location, peaceful and with amazing views over the vineyards and river valley. Easy to get to any of the local port producers and one was a 2 minute walk round the corner - perfect! The quality of accommodation is very good as was the food. Highly recommended. Thank you to Ursula, Adelaide and 'the girls' for looking after us so well.
We stayed with our family 2 nights in superior rooms. Rooms very clean, spacy, quiet, excellent airco. Hotel personnel and infrastructure gives the guests the feeling,to be relaxed and home. Multiple corners in the garden, nice pool and tennis court, self service bars with all you need,.. After this stay of two nights, we made the wrong choice to change to another hotel...
My wife and I had originally intended just to stay one night in week commencing 8 June 2020 when Portugal had just reopened to tourists. We had a wonderful experience in every respect and ended up extending our stay to 4 nights. The views and amenities including swimming pool area, which my wife loved, were superb. Our room was very large and spacious with it’s own external area. Every night we had delicious home cooked dinners with interesting and tasty local wines at a reasonable cost. All in all would highly recommend to anyone visiting Porto and the Douro Valley this year.
There is very little not to love about this hotel - the location is excellent and the staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. We were recommended to come by a friend and we will tell everyone else who is visiting the Douro to give this hotel a try! The food is delicious and the rooms are so charming and comfortable. The pool area and the two bars where you help yourself are all just great. The hotel is rustic and charming but absolutely immaculate - I don’t know how they do it! Adalaide, who acts as a hotel manager or similar role, is the best. So kind and helpful and lovely. We’ll miss her! ❤️
Nice room with a beautifull view on the valley including a working fireplace. We stayed 2 nights and our diner were the most wonderfull experience. Breakfast was very good too but we had chandelier diners, very special attentions that we will not forget. German management with portugese cuisine and service. Excellent.
