Visiting the battlefield of Bussaco this was an obvious choice to stay. I wish we had stayed elsewhere but taken the time to visit the palace just for a look around. Our room was very dated with wall paper peeling off the walls and non working bedside lights. No drink making faci

The room was big old with cracks in the walls. The facilities in the room and bathroom were with rust and mold. The heating was not working. The paint was peeling of the doors and windows. The castle and the palace are beautiful and also the area is surrounded with gardens and

I had already read the reviews about the poor condition of the rooms before arriving at the hotel, so I was prepared for the worst. I already knew that the hotel had shortcomings, but I thought "well, it's worth it for the surroundings". And I was right; I sleept in a very very s

My wife and I have decided to stay the last night of our tour in Portugal in Bussaco Palace Hotel and experience how was it to stay one day in a real palace.

The location of the palace is amazing. The hotel stands alone as no other buildings or a village around it. A brick road

The surrounding area it is unique wether we talk about nature, wether we talk about the "manuelino" architectural style.

The rooms are old. Everything is clean, but since it is used it doesn't look tidy.

Restaurant Hi, Few years ago we stayed in the Bussaco Palace and had a great time. Also, one evening we dine in a restaurant that specialize in cooking suckling pigs and it was delicious. I remember that the waiters did,nt speak English or French and that it was a large restaurant with a local clientele. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the restaurant & I would like to go back. The restaurant was about 10-15 minutes away from the Bussaco Palace I would appreciate if anyone can help me with the name & location of the restaurant Thank you
I think this is Rei Dos Leitoes in Mealhalla.

Is there a swimming pool in the grounds of the palace hotel ? Thank you
I'm afraid not, but with that beautiful forest and the streams that flow through it, there's plenty of refreshment!

what is the best way to get to the hotel, from which city flying from US?
I would say the best way to get there from the US is flying to LIsbon.
