Amendoeira Golf Resort features elegant self-catering apartments and villas with swimming pools. The resort offers two bedroom modern apartments with two bathrooms, fully fitted kitchen and spacious lounge. For groups who require more space, two bedroom apartments with mezzanine are available which include a sofa bed and ensuite with shower. When a couple wishes to stay at the Amendoeira Golf Resort, we are able to offer a reduction on the holiday price by offering a two bedroom apartment with the use of one bedroom only. Bigger groups can easily be accommodated in three, four, four superior and five bedroom villas. All the spacious and modern properties at Amendoeira feature balconies overlooking the gardens. The living rooms come with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a CD/DVD player. All accommodation types offer exceptional interior design, excellent facilities and a fully equipped kitchen including microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A rich breakfast is available every morning in the Amendoeira Clubhouse restaurant. Guests can also enjoy the restaurant's menu with a choice of national Portuguese and International cuisine. We can supply a welcome food pack to be placed in the accommodation before the clients' arrival making sure all the essentials are in place. We offer a Starter Food Pack and a Special Food Pack - our reservations team can define which suits the clients' needs. We can even arrange for champagne and flowers to be placed in the apartment for a special occasion. The Oceanico Academy and the Amendoeira Golf Academy & Fitting Suite are available to improve the practice of this sport. The Amendoeira Sports Club includes facilities such as a fitness centre; 2 five-a-side football fields, 6 tennis courts and a fully fitted gym with spacious changing rooms. A complimentary on-site shuttle bus is available and during July and August a shuttle is offered to the local beach at Armacao de Pera.

Breakfast was very good and bar food was also of a high quality.
The golf courses are both demanding for an 18 handicapper even off the yellow tees.
Faldo course is really tough but each hole has tremendous views and a different challenge.
The O Connor is flatter but once you have played it you can get around with a decent enough score.
Now the not so good bits and the reason for the title of my review.
The staff....
There are a few quality people.
1 Jessica in the bar area.
Happy and enthusiastic. Works her socks off. Great ambassador for this venue.
2 Rafael the driver of the shuttle bus.
New to the job (he told us)
Loves his role happy to be in work.
Now the negatives.
A number of the staff particularly in the bar area are extremely inefficient and service is putting it politely as hit and miss!
Check your bills...
We (6 of us were initially presented with a Bar, /food bill of 400 euros) the real cost was 200.
Apparently a large groups drinks had been mistakenly put on ours.
No apology and was made to feel that we were trying it on.
Reception is potluck.
Some care, most do not, with apathy levels being a big problem.
In summary a good trip.
Would I come back... doubtful as the resort is too far away from the nightlife and although the accommodation was faultless the shuttle bus ceases at 11pm and we were unceremoniouy advised at 11-05 one night you will have to walk back!

8 of us in a very big 4 bed villa with a pool and a view on to the O'Connor course. The villa itself was immaculate with the only gripes being a lack of towels and very few cooking utensils, easily fixed. The resort transfer from the villa to reception was always prompt, the courses were in pretty good condition considering it is peak season. The pace of play was quite slow and there was a difficulty one day with buggies coming back in because of the sheer volume of people on course - book a morning tee time! Breakfast was good and the bar service was committed but a little slow - I think they were a little understaffed. Overall it was excellent, very good value for money and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Fabulous villa that couldn’t be faulted. The courses were very good, very long, buggies essential especially the Faldo course. What let’s this complex down is the clubhouse staff. There doesn’t seem to be anybody in charge. The service is painfully slow and when it does come they made mistake after mistake with our orders. They tried to charge someone else’s drink to our group, they got orders wrong and were very indignant when told about the mistakes. The food was indifferent, the burgers were lovely, but the pizzas had obviously been heated in a micro wave and came out like frisbees. The breakfast was buffet style and had a good range of choices, but all the hot ingredients were all luke warm at best. IF the bar staff and the food issues were addressed I’d have no problem recommending Amendoeira but they were so bad I’m afraid I’ll not be taking the change by returning.

Just finishing our 30 day stay and golf vacation at Amendoeira Resort . Absolutely a first class resort in every way ! From our check in and meeting Edgar at reception, we have been treated to amazing service by all of the staff at the resort and they have accommodated our every request. Stayed in a spacious , modern, clean and very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment, with amazing views of sun sets, sun rises and overlooking the golf course. The restaurant food and wait staff were excellent to us every time we visited. We have played numerous rounds of golf on both the Faldo and O'Connor courses this month and they are in great shape. Booking tee times was easy and the staff was able to provide us with the tee times of our choice every time we booked. The pro shop staff were also fantastic ensuring we were well looked after for every round with carts, bag storage and practice balls. Thanks to all the staff at Amendoeira for making our holiday a trip to remember.

Came here many years ago and some of the staff are friendly but some are down right rude . We have a daughter who has epilepsy and learning disabilities . We thought it would be a good idea paying for breakfast for the 14 nights we are here . Turns out she didn’t feel comfortable eating her breakfast with staff hovering about taking plates off your table whilst still having breakfast . So quite a few days two out of the four of us had breakfast so we asked if we could get a refund for the remaining time we are here . Point blankly the receptionist said NO REFUNDS , it’s our problem if we don’t come for breakfast ! So we will never be back here again . The shower door has silicone on it instead of a stopper , only one large tumbler , no dish drying towel had to go buy one ! Decking board on the balcony is broken , the phone didn’t work , the towels are torn and thread bare , the cafetière didn’t have a mesh filter on it . Lightbulbs missing in lamps . So not really impressed with this place .I wouldn’t have put this review on but after that person at the clubhouse treated us I think people deserve to know what it’s like

Stayed with a group playing golf. The apartments are huge and fitted out to a high spec - really impressive. Ate snacks so cant really comment on meals but the Club sandwiches were excellent. There was a staffing issue in the restaurant on one evening which led to long waits and you could see that the lone waitress was really struggling (we actually left our table without eating) but overall the staff were very pleasant. Shuttle runs around the complex were very timely and welcomed. The resort is about 20 minutes out of Albufeira and pretty isolated so you'll want a car or you'll be running up taxi fares. Golf courses where generally good although getting a little tired in places - just missing some TLC. I wouldn't recommend without a car.

Been to Amendoeira for a great play at Faldo course. Number 12 of all courses in Portugal and its worth it. Great green greens, beautiful sights, choose your tee wisely otherwise you loose a lot of balls. The back nine is easier than the first nine. Great service from reception to caddy. They respond quickly on questions. The course is hilly so I recommend a buggy. Because of Corona it was quiet on the course. I hired taylormade clubs for 30 euro and I walked the course for 70 euro included the buggy. You receive a coin so you can practice before you start at the driving range. Great course for a lot of golffun!

I've played a this resort quite a few times over the years and always enjoyed both courses. This time we played the O'connor course. It is looking very tired and a bit unkempt and unloved. Sadly not the experience we, as a group, have been treated to previously.
When it first opened, for golf, you were greeted at the door and asked to place your kit in pairs and the staff would take it and put it on the buggies for you and they'd also clean your clubs when finished. This definitely doesn't happen now. The clubhouse however is still nice, the staff very helpful and the snack food we had was great.
It's such a pity the course wasn't up to the type of standard they've previously held. I hope things turn around on the courses because both courses are fun to play yet totally different from each other.

Played both courses but not up to last years standard but times changed. The accommodation was up to its very high standard. The restaurant had a very limited menu and the same snack menu for lunch and dinner which was very disappointing, the staff levels in the restaurant very low which meant getting food and drinks was very slow which meant getting food between rounds quite tight on time. The price of the food was higher than the standard of the food served.

Should do it in just over 4 but obviously depends on your three other players and the speed of those in front. Both courses are spot on with the extremely fast greens. Enjoy we did.
There are more places to choose from in the Alcantarilha area.
