On the last occasion that my wife and I came to your hotel it happened to be her birthday and someone must have noticed this by way of her passport. There was a knock on our bedroom door on the day and a charming young man presented her with a bottle of bubbly and a wonderful selection of fruits. There is nowhere else in the world where such a wonderful gesture would have been created. It typifies this special spot.Looking forward to coming to your lovely hotel. No air travel as yet from Ireland. Your "Clean and Safe" program is very impressive. What was always most impressive was the standard of cleanliness and hygiene practiced in your hotel. If you combine all that with wonderful food , very comfortable accommodation, fabulous location and easily the most efficient and friendly staff that one might be ever likely to meet. This all means that for travel this year this place is SAFE. Good luck to all…
Myself and my husband visited this fantastic hotel in March but due to the situation at the time we had to return early . We had a superior sea view room it was cleaned every day and very comfortable . It is right on the beach a lovely walk into the Marina at Vilamoura and directly opposite the train / bus station as well as restaurants , cafes and shops . The food was fantastic and the staff in the dinning room were so cheerful and helpful . The two ladies on the reception Phillipa and Bridget were so kind and kept us updated regarding our repatriation back to the Uk .they arranged taxis and advised us about hygiene and precautions to take while travelling back to the uk .You could see they enjoyed doing their jobs at the Dom Jose and that was reflected in their attention to detail as was the case with all the hotel staff . The manager spoke to us about his concern for his guests safety and comfort at this very difficult time and had sanitisers installed overnight in different parts of the hotel and a young lady was seen cleaning doors lifts and communal areas every few hours she certainly deserves credit . It’s almost like one big family when you stay at the Dom Jose . Most of the guests there are returnees This hotel gets 5 stars from us the staff have been wonderful especially as there were only 6 people left at the hotel on the day we departed . We were given lunch in the reception area . All the restaurants in the ares were closed we had to remain at the hotel . We will go back to the Dom Jose later in the year and hopefully will stay for the whole duration of our trip , We thank the manager and all his wonderful staff They are wonderful and made out stay unique .…
This is a lovely hotel right on the promenade in Quarteria. Very welcoming check in and both the bar area staff and dining staff were very accommodating and that made it a relaxing stay. Unfortunately we lost three days of our holiday due to the repatriation back to the UK ordered by our travel company. However whilst we were there we did make good use of the lounge and the outside loungers and the pool. Yes the pool is on the small side and unheated but it was fine for me to do lengths in. It does get steep however and not really suitable for children. The breakfast food choices were plentiful and more than enough options to vary your choice each day if you so wished. Some drinks were a little bit on the pricy side compared with the bars and restaurants but the cocktails were very good value. There is a happy hour between 5 and 6 so it really is just an hour !!!! There are excellent views both from the lounge and the dining area and also from our sea view room. We had room 608 but any room on the sea side would have a pretty good view. A special mention should be made of the cleaners who did a very good job of making sure all the floors and door handles etc were cleaned regularly throughout the day particularly when restrictions were starting to be put in place. It was a shame that we had to leave early and we hope that, one day, we may be able to go back again to finish our holiday ! Thank you all at Dom Jose.…
This was our 10th visit to this little gem of a hotel. The staff are wonderful, the rooms clean and made up daily There is a fridge in every room and kettle for making tea and coffee. The sea view rooms are smashing we sleep with the balcony door open and listen to the sound of the sea to nod off to. The food in the restaurant is very good there is a wide selection for breakfast, cooked English style or continental, plenty of fresh fruit and cheeses and meats. Evening meal is again buffet style and a choice of meats fish and vegetarian are on offer. The winter break deal is very good. We will definitely return This last visit coincided with the onset of the Corona Virus and we had to curtail our holiday from 3 weeks to 2 the hotel were very good and did not charge for the weeks we had booked only for the days we stayed. Their response to the the ongoing restrictions regarding the Virus were first class Over night hand gel points were instaled throughout the hotel we were restricted to 2 people in the lift and only tables for 2 . The hotels staff throughout this remained cheerful and helpful. We hope to return next year.…
Visited this hotel during our stay in Albufeira, we wanted to have a look as it we planned to visit next year. We spoke to people who were staying there and they were very complimentary about the hotel. We had a couple of coffees on the lovely balcony overlooking the beach. It is a beautiful hotel with fantastic position. My husband spoke to one of the receptionist who advised it was ok to have a look around. What we saw was really nice. We loved having a walk along the promenade, it is very flat and would be ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties. We have booked for next year for 4 weeks, looking forward to it. Have booked a sea view room as the views from the hotel are amazing. Role on 2021.
