Umberto 33 is a gem. Clean and comfortable and well located in the center of Piazza Amerina. Giovanni is so friendly, kind, and curious. He helped us with parking and restaurants. He also treated us to a wine tasting at his enoteca in the nearby square. At a plentiful and delicious breakfast, he filled our cups with superb coffee and...

For the budget traveller, very reasonably priced at 60€ out of season. Wonderful breakfast on site. Proprietor Giovanni ebullient and helpful. Joins his guests at breakfast. Speaks French and a little English, but an unabashed communicator

On arriving off the bus our host was waiting for us to take us to his B&B....what a ride....once we were squashed into his car laden with huge wine containers (we luckily don't carry much luggage) we arrived at the accommodation. What a wonderful surprise its spacious rooms with air con and TV. Not that we used the TV there...

Very friendly welcome, family-style hospitality and memorable breakfasts in shared kitchen, with a terrace that has stunning views across the old town to the cathedral; rooms very clean and comfortable, and beautifully quiet - the area is covered by forests and neighbouring villages include Aidone with the archaeological remains at Morgantina and the more famous and no less beautiful Roman...

All the comments about the owner are spot on, he is very helpful and welcoming and so is his wife. Impressive breakfast spread on the top floor with great views across the rooftops. Very good value but not a good idea if you have any difficulty with stairs.

We read about this B&B in the Lonely Planet Sicily guide and they mentioned how helpful and pleasant the proprietor was. They weren't wrong. Every interaction we had with Giovanni, whether by phone, text or in person was helpful, informative and fun! This three room B&B is right off the main piazza of this charming town. While not easy to...

We stayed at Giovanni's recently when cycling through Sicily. Giovanni couldn't have been more accommodating allowing us to store our bikes upstairs in their apartment and providing us with a fantastic breakfast before we left. Having a kitchen to cook our dinner was just great and we really enjoyed the conversations we had with Giovanni who made us feel really...

Owner Giovanni is exceedingly kind and helpful. Drove us to Villa Romana, helpful with onward connections. Creates welcoming congenial atmosphere among guests. Modest but clean room. Tasty breakfast, including products like pistachio spread from his enoteca. Piazza Armerina (in addition to the glorious mosaics outside town) is wonderfully atmospheric (walk it at night) and is free from the tourist hordes...

A small hotel in the old section of town. Giovanni is delightful and very helpful. Delicious breakfast in a fun atmosphere. Easy to get to Villa Romano, if buses not running Giovanni will take you, also to bus stop. Find the local restaurant on the left side of the square in the far corner.

We stayed at B & B Umberto for one night and found the owners extremely welcoming and hospitable. Giovanni went out of his way to make our brief stay comfortable, even driving us to the Villa Romana, and then to the bus stop the following morning. Our room was very comfortable and Giovanni prepared an early, very tasty, breakfast for...
