We stayed at this beautiful hotel just on the outskirts of Alberobello for 2 weeks at the end of July. The suite we were in was amazing with 2 balconies and access to a small vineyard and garden from the back balcony. Our front balcony overlooked the main garden area and each day we had fantastic views of the resident birds of prey (the hotel also has a small animal zoo attached with horses, camels, wolves and tortoises all of which appeared extremely well looked after and happy). The breakfast was plentiful and, due to COVID, was served in our room daily by the very helpful staff (who couldn’t have been more attentive). We walked into town in the evenings for our evening meal - just 10mins to the centre of Alberobello which was fantastic. We felt that it would have been nice if we could have set the air con in the room lower on some of the very hot days but we didn’t actually ask Stella or Francesco (the owners) about this so it may have been possible. The hotel now also has a lovely pool (opened on the 2nd day we arrived) which was amazing and shows that the owners are investing in improving the hotel and facilities even in the current COVID driven economic environment. Thank you for making us welcome.

That is the first time I ever used the word, MERAVIGLIOSO and a Corte Dell’Astore truly deserves it! What an absolutely beautiful retreat in the heart of the “Fairy Tale Village” of Alberobello! This wonderful place is also owned by two of the nicest people, Stella and Francesco! MERAVIGLIOSO!!The day I arrived with my two teenage children, they had already planned for us a trip with Francesco up to the top of a tall mountain to show us how his eagle, Zeus would fly into the clouds and back onto his arm. This included a walk through the beautiful forest full of chestnut trees and pine cones, The path cleared and there we were on the top of the highest mountain between Alberobello and Brindisi.MERAVIGLIOSO!January is off-season, but Stella found a lovely woman to come to the retreat and teach us to make pasta.MERAVIGLIOSO! Corte is also a hawkery and a small farm with beautiful and well-kept animals from camels to hawks! MERAVIGLIOSO! We stayed in the Princess Astore Suite-an authentic TRULLO. We had a huge bedroom, kitchen and courtyard.Complete with a fireplace stacked with plenty of wood and a large and clean hot tub! MERAVIGLIOSO! We are counting the days when we can return to Corte Dell’Astore, Stella and Francesco and their amazing family of animals!! I do fear that when more and more vacationers will learn about Corte Dell’Astore, and won’t be able to get in! Stella and Francesco - Grazie Mille for making us feel like family! Please remember us!🌴 MERAVIGLIOSO!

We included one night at La Corte Dell'Astore in our recent drive through southern Italy and enjoyed the trulli experience in this fascinating historic location. We had our car, so it was easy to get to the center of Alberobello, which was just a short distance away. Since it was December, there were very few people at the hotel, and breakfast was sent to our room. Breakfast choices were limited, but sufficient.

Our tour company moved us to this hotel without consultation and we would much have preferred to be in the centre of Alberobello - to walk there on an unlit road at night was dangerous so we had to hire taxis. While many seem to like having birds and animals close by, we do not approve of keeping them in cages - and in the warm weather they attract flies which got into our room (when we complained we were asked if the door was opened - well yes, to get in and out and the staff to clean rooms!). Breakfast was good, but no other meals available so would not call this a resort hotel.

Dear Marilyn this is our Resort and our beautiful life. Nothing is hidden. Everything is known on our web site. Our birds, our different animals, our position in relation to the center and the fact that we not have a resaurant. We are sorry to read your review beacuse we love our animals and every creature here, with us. We work a lot of time in order to take care about them, everyday. You deal with this creature with love and respect. We are sorry for your resentment. This is the world that we love and that with sacrifice and love we feed in all its forms. We are sorry that for a mistake of your agency you write to us a bed review. Best regards

When we arrived at this hotel, we were so pleasantly surprised at the quaintness and beauty of this charming hotel. The trulli houses are gorgeous and the style and finish of the interiors are breathtaking. So much care and attention has gone into creating such fantastic accommodation. The added surprise are the magnificent birds. Parrots, eagles, falcons, an owl, all is superb condition. Tortoises, miniature pigs... so much to see. The hotel is set about a 5 minute walk away from Alberobello and that is worth a visit. I was glad , however, to return to the hotel after visiting the tourist packed town. I would highly recommend this hotel and will return again. The staff are delightful and very welcoming. The only minor downfall is the coffee and breakfast but overall a superb stay. I also recommend their red wine.... delicious!
