I didn't quite understand, Wednesday evening, 22/12/21, it felt like the male staff member on the desk wanted to argue when I was just trying to have a conversation. Really quite odd, a service professional being anything but professional.

I had disregarded some of the reviews left here to give this place a chance but I was sorely mistaken! On arrival we were greeted coldly by a woman receptionist who immediately asked how we would like to do payment, no how are you etc. and where we were travelling from. When I stated we didn’t have a credit card and I offered another form of payment she said it’s not about payment it’s about the “rules” of the hotel, having worked in a hotel for many years on receptionI have never once needed to ensure that it was a credit card and not another form of payment so was taken aback, when the receptionist reluctantly “allowed” us to pay by debit card and took down the card details she gave us our key card and on our way! When the customer behind us checked in it was different story, greeted and allowed to pay with card no issue or asked if they had a credit card. Not the customer service I was expecting from a 4* hotel. On getting to our room it was basic but cleanliness was not up to standard having found what I can only imagine as pubic hair in the shower. We’ve stayed in another hotel in clondalkin and will be returning there any more simply for the service as it isn’t to be found here in this hotel!

The hotel receptionist was a young girl called Angie/Angela. She was very pleasant and polite and provided great customer service when checking in. When checking in I was informed I had to pay a 100 deposit per person aswel as the fee for the night and was told it is in print when booking which I obviously didn't see but for this reason I wouldn't stay in the hotel again. The hotel room was very basic and there was nothing spectacular about the hotel at all. The only thing that made this experience was the excellent young girl working at the reception.

We had a family gathering of about 25 and stayed over on Saturday night. All the hotel staff were brilliant and very helpful, especially Pavel. They all went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. From start to finish we had a great time. We had our meal in Joel's and even though we had a large group everything went very smoothly. Would highly recommend the Hotel and restaurant
