The Louis Fitzgerald Hotel is located outside of Dublin, right next to the motorway. By car, the city center can be reached in about 30 minutes if traffic is light. Although the hotel is officially rated four stars, I personally do not think it lives up to this classification. There are clear signs of wear and tear, as well as noticeable shortcomings in both cleanliness and the condition of the facilities. The elevator control panel was "repaired" with duct tape, the heating in the room did not seem to work, and instead, a mobile electric heater was provided. The control unit for the heating and air conditioning was broken, the carpet in the room was fraying in some places, and the elevator call buttons had visible black dirt edges. The bathroom exhaust fan also appeared unclean.
The size of both the room and the bathroom was perfectly fine, but several details negatively affected the overall comfort. Water sprayed not only from the showerhead but also from the sides, which made showering somewhat inconvenient. The bathtub had a shower curtain, which I personally dislike. On the positive side, a kettle with tea and coffee was available in the room, but unfortunately, there was no minibar or fridge. However, the general room cleaning was good.
The staff was friendly, service-oriented, and helpful, which was definitely a plus. The food in the bar and restaurant was also good, and there was nothing to complain about in this regard.
Despite the good service and good food in the bar and restaurant, the visible problems with maintenance and general cleanliness spoilt my impression. For a four-star hotel, I would have expected better maintenance and a higher overall standard. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right.

Stayed on the bank holiday Saturday night. The reception check was quick and efficient. The lady was so nice and polite ( so sorry we didn’t get her name)and on the following morning checked us out, very professional pleasant person. There was a person cleaning the foyer toilets and lifts.
The deal was three course meal, cocktail and breakfast. The evening meal did not have extra charges and includes strip loin steak. Bearing in mind that they had just opened and were short staffed. The starter was a bit cold and the chips were greasy. But the portions were large.
The room was spotless and had a window that opened. You would be surprised at the amount of hotel rooms that don’t have opening windows. The room was at the back and unbelievably quite for beside the Naas road. We had a perfect nights sleep on comfy beds, windows open and no internal noise. Brilliant shower the next morning.
Then onto breakfast, here Eoin our waiter was brilliant. The breakfast was big, sausages x2 , rashers x2, eggsx2, white /black pudding, hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a pot of beans. Topped of with soda bread and a pot of coffee, this after a large bowl of fresh fruit. There was also yogurt and juice ( not fresh). You could have omelette, pancakes or fry. Eoin then checked twice we were ok and answered any question we put to him.
So would we return. Both of us would in a heartbeat. Thanks Louis Fitzgerald staff for a great stay, see you again.

Nice hotel located beside the N7 Close to Clondalkin and Tallaght. Close to Red Cow Luas Station. The hotel has a restaurant and bar , and there is also Joel's restaurant on the same site as the hotel with a great menu selection . This is well worth a visit. There is also a fuel station on site for those travelling with their own vehicle.

Fine for a business stopover. But don’t bother if you are a family or looking for a nice break. It’s the type of place that clears up the breakfast around you as you’re still eating and refuses your room service order 10 minutes before they’re supposed to close. Not the type of place that is guest focused.

Myself & my partner stayed here for one night because we were attending a party in the Red Cow but seen as the hotel there is not open to the public we decided on the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel as it was the closest. Pictures on the internet do not reflect how the hotel actually looks, when you enter the foyer it really does look lovely & funky and the decor in the bar area is nice too all new looking and really nice but sadly thats where the nice decor ends.
Check in was some experience being greeted by a very sullen and somewhat rude receptionist, we were trying to be pleasant as we were in good form after just eating a lovely meal in Joels only to be met by this lady who asked us for ID on checking in ! I work in the hospitality industry and have been to lots of hotels and I have never been asked for ID when checking in, when we asked her what if we didnt have ID because not all people like to bring out their full wallet when going out she replied in a very smart way " well you wont be checking in then ".
We were allocated our room and she tried to explain the payment prodecure which we couldnt get a grasp of I just handed over my credit card and told her to take whatever we owed. The room we were given was old looking, carpets were filthy, light in bathroom didnt work, windows very difficulty to opena and close, curtains dirty and we were given a room for a person with special needs so there was one of those huge showers with a seat and handles everywhere now I personally dont like when I am given one of those room unless I ask for it but most likely because we were only there for one night that is what we got. The bed was a double bed and it was very uncomfortable, mattress was filthy with all stains and I know this because my partner let his phone drop down behind the bed so I pulled it out to retrieve it and lifted up the covers and saw all the stains, no water in the room and not toiletries so how this hotel is classed as a 4 star I will never know.
The partner said the breakfast next morning was lovely & what I will say is that all of the service staff in the bar were really pleasant and friendly they might want to give a few tips to the receptionist on how to greet guests. We spoke to some men who are long term residents due to working here in Dublin and they seemed to like it but for me I wouldn't stay there again. I only live up the road and I have been to a few of the Louis Fitzgerald places and they all seem to have the same issue of the decor being tired, old and grubby. Even Joels which my family likes and I dine in the odd time needs an overhaul. Will I be back, definately no I would go up the road and stay in another hotel that comes to mind which is clean, modern and would class as 4 star in my opinion.

Despite our initial skepticism due to its lower price compared to nearby hotels, our stay turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. The staff was friendly, assisting us with taxi bookings and offering helpful recommendations. A brief disturbance at the front desk involving a group of teens and the arrival of the Garda raised some concerns initially, but it was promptly resolved, and we never felt unsafe.
The rooms were spacious and impressive, although the bed could have been more comfortable. The bathroom was sizable and well-maintained, though the shower appeared a bit dated. The hotel's location allowed for a convenient 15-minute walk to the Red Cow Luas, but opting for a taxi, priced around €9, is advisable if you prefer to skip the stroll.

We went to Louis Fitzgerald hotel to celebrate our anniversary from Friday to Sunday , my partner had another hotel booked for us but I asked could we go back to louis fitszgeralds hotel as we had a great time there in summer just gone ,
When we got there we were 15 mins waiting as there was a que we had no problem waiting , when we got to the deck a woman tall with blonde hair she was a manger was checking us in she told us we had to give credit card or pay 200 euro for deposit for security reasons , she kept saying read the important information but we never did because we were there in summer and didn't see how that could change so fast, when we read the important information it stated 100 euro deposit for security reasons it never stated 100 euro PER Person !!!! We paid the 200 euro now on a budget for the weekend as they already took over 300 euro before we even got there so we just brought our spending for our weekend away , The room was freezing and towels were dirty make up on them , We went down to LJs bar and one of the mangers kept pointing over to our table this made my partner feel very intimidated as we were residents and paying customers, the managers in all departments are horrible very rude ! The staff tho are very nice I think you either need to train your managers again or give credit to the staff !! I will not be returning as we had the worst anniversary possible !!!!!!!

I have never been so disappointed in what I used to consider a good hotel, stayed here from 6th Jan 24 to 8th Jan 24 and I arrived in early afternoon after travelling from Cork, my birthday was the 11th so was an early birthday stay to meet some friends on the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and needed some rest and relaxation also for other reasons. Got to my room and the room was like a fridge and was kept awake by the noise the air con was making , I eventually turned off the air con and fell asleep for a few hours only to be awoken by the air con a few hours later but it was definitely turned off again after a while it went silent but a few minutes later off it went again, at this stage I was wrecked tired so I phoned reception and told him the situation and was told if I want to complain I have to come down to reception so I went had a shower and actually fell asleep in the bath for probably half an hour as it was the quietest place, now I went and made my complaint and was changed room and given a complimentary breakfast which I didn’t use because I needed sleep, I changed rooms and went to sleep and missed my birthday meet up and being honest I was not in the mood, now even more annoying when I checked out I filled in a form relaying my dismay and disappointment with my stay leaving my phone number and details but no one contacted me, I got an email asking how my stay went and again filled in my details with a personal message for the GM and my details again no contact so I submitted a contact form with my complaint asking to be contacted about the situation but nothing so I phoned and spoke to a duty manager and she told me she would investigate why no one contacted me and said she would contact me today Friday 19 th but at 20.30 I had not heard so I phoned and spoke to her but she told me she had still intensions of calling me later, I did ask it’s nearly 9 pm and did she think it was ok to call someone that late? She said she had not finished her investigation but would call me back on Saturday 20th but the phone rang about 15 mins later to say that she had changed my room and offered me a breakfast but as compensation she could offer me 25% off my next booking at the hotel, I said not in a million years I had stayed there before and I am a seasoned traveller but I was not looking for money but the least I expected was one night stay complimentary on my next 2 night stay on the basis that my whole weekend was ruined by inadequate room offerings to which she replied she thought what she was offering was sufficient and was left at that, I will never again stay at that hotel having been treated like that, if you got a terrible meal and the restaurant offered you 25% off your next meal you would be insulted and that is exactly how I felt, insulted and took me 5 attempts to get a response about a complaint, please when staying in or around Dublin which is a great city do yourself a favour and do not stay here

This hotel is very greedy, booked through hotels.com and there was some issue when I changed my dates before the cancellation period. The hotel went ahead and charged me for an extra night stay when they should not have. The hotel keep blaming hotels.com and hotels.com keep blaming the hotel and nobody wants to do anything to fix it and as a result I am down €115 for a night stay that was not used.
The hotel is dated. The rooms are very cold and do not have any temperature controls. The windows allowed a lot of noise and wind in. The room was very dated and run down in places. The shower was very awkward to use due to the shower head. The bed was very uncomfortable and made it difficult to get sleep.
Only good thing is the free breakfast which was average

Absolutely awful experience we went for our family Christmas night out it was shocking tables squeezed together like they were getting as many people in tiny room as possible… Food was very poor quality and staff were extremely rude and dismissive so many people complaining about the staff last night I would never book this event again and would recommend you do your research before giving them your business this was a prime example of greediness at Christmas cramming as many in as you can and slapping up awful food at 69e a head. The band was good but dance floor was non existent because again greediness they had more tables in to capitalise on the Christmas party. I am disgusted I even gave them my business I left after the meal and would not recommend to anybody

The first room we were given had NO aircon, instead a fan was in the room. We asked for an aircon room and the staff kindly moved us. Have to say though that it didn't work properly. Depending on what time of year you're travelling you probably won't need it now until next Summer!
It is on the main road into dublin there are no pubs around the hotel has great food and joels restaurant is next door and a petrol station beside it that has a small supermarket.
