Stayed here for 4 nights on a hard pitch in the caravan with my kids. The pitches are brilliant & very private with lots of space between hedges. Each pitch is supplied with water & grey waste. The site itself is massive & very well maintained with loads of bins & fresh cut grass. The toilets & showers need cleaned better & although the facilities are dated, there are loads of them which was good. You need a token for the shower & I was disappointed that the water wasn’t very hot as I like a hot shower. The staff are very friendly especially Arlf. He was very helpful at giving directions for towns etc The location is fab although due to where it is expect a lot of noise from traffic & planes. The site itself is quiet with a great park & the coffee at reception is very nice. I would recommend staying here especially if you want to go into the city as the bus stops at the site.

Whilst we would agree with some of the negative comments posted regarding cleanliness and atmosphere, we arrived early (0930) and were allowed to find a pitch of our choice. None of pitches were that level.

The facilities are tired and the freezing shower/toilet block isn’t at all inviting on a cold spring stay. €1.50 for a warm(ish) shower is the most we paid in Ireland.

Be warned it’s around 40min by bus into the city centre and buses are only once per hour. It’s far more convenient to drive to the closest Luas (tram) stop where you can pay by card rather than needing exact change and transit into town quicker.

The Corkeagh Park next door is a real gem and well worth exploring.

Overall: Fairly decent site for a base for traveling around Dublin and surrounding area.
Staff are very friendly with all kinds of helpful information about the rates for visitors.
Seems to be a decent level of security, I saw regular patrols

For: (handstand caravan pitch)
Spacious pitch. Plenty of room for car, caravan, awning and play area for children/pets
Most pitches are bordered by hedges. Some completely, so great privacy, others have gaps in hedges, some have no hedge
water and electric at pitch, with drain for grey water - a big plus.

Against: main toilet and shower facilities in the centre of the park are in urgent need of refurbishing. Basic needs catered for but would need brought out of 1986.
Needs completely ripped out.
Hot water seem to be non-existent after 10pm
Laundry: one washing machine and one dryer for a site this size is poor
Best to use public washer at Tesco Clondalkin.

We stayed in a caravan, with electric and water hook up for a few weeks Oct/Nov 2023.

The whole campsite was kept mowed and litter free every day.

Large bins are provided throughout the park for the disposal of household waste.

Toilets and showers were spotless and the staff were lovely to deal with and were on call if needed, they went above and beyond for us when we needed their help and couldn't do enough for us.

It was lovely and quiet. The security of the park is excellent with plenty of cameras and a main security gate that is only accessible with a code.

The site is well serviced by restaurant delivery drivers and there's a large selection of options.

Staying in this park was great value for the service you receive, we couldn't praise them highly enough

I stayed on a hard standing with a caravan, with electric and water hook up. It was lovely and quiet. The whole campsite was kept mowed and litter free every day. Large bins are provided throughout the park for the disposal of household waste. Toilets were spotless, except for night time when other residents walked from the rained out grass areas, but were quickly cleaned again when staff were on duty. The staff were lovely to deal with and were on call if needed. I had an issue with my tow hitch on my departure date and one of the owners sorted it out within 2 minutes after I spent 1 hour trying even helped me hitch to my car (I was travelling alone). If you like having your morning coffee while watching various breeds of bird and wild rabbits, this is the place for you. The security of the park was top notch too. Plenty of cameras and a main security gate that is only accessible with a code. On this, I would suggest that anyone looking to come home at night and park their car next to their caravan, get home by 10pm as the security gate automatically closes at that time. This feature is obviously a security measure and didn't bother me too much. The nights I wanted to stay in the city late, I just got a taxi home. The bus stop for those wishing to go to the city is literally 1 minute away and the bus journey takes about 45 mins. It takes 25 mins to drive from Temple Bar back to the camping site regardless of the night in question. Factor this in if you sre thinking of driving. The site is well serviced by restaurant delivery drivers and there's a large selection of options.

For the price you pay per night, it really is the best deal if you are thinking of staying in Dublin. Its also dog friendly, something a lot of residents were obviously drawn to. Saying that, the rules about dogs are clear, you must clean up after your dog and they must remain on a leash. I imagine this is a health and safety requirement. WiFi doesn't work in the campsite but your 4g/5g will work fine on your phone, I had zero streaming issues.

We stayed here in a tent, it was our first time so didn't know what to expect. The staff were friendly and left you to your own devices (as 2 awkward people we loved this) but were there to help if needed. The toilets were spotless, didn't use the shower as we left early to get home and the campsite itself was quiet and you could choose a spot as private as you liked you weren't told exactly where to set up. Corkagh Park next door is beautiful for a walk. Takeaways in the area also deliver here if you're in a tent and can't cook!

After reading positive reviews about this campsite and paying a premium price we had high hopes for our first stay in Dublin but were disappointed to say the least when we arrived at Camac Valley.

On first view it was obvious the park wasn’t being regularly maintained with bins over flowing, rubbish lying everywhere, muddy, wet pitches and overhanging trees which scrape the roof of the camper.

We feel the details of what’s available at this campsite needs to be updated. There are no laundry facilities and from what we can see from previous reviews, there hasn’t been for quite some years now however it’s still advertised that there is. There’s old machines lying outside in amongst a lot of other material and rubbish which appears to have built up over the years and has been dumped inside/outside the main building and surrounding areas making it look and feel very messy.

The shower and toilet facilities don’t appear to be very clean, a few occasions there wasn’t even toilet roll available and considering it’s an already pricey campsite it’s questionable having to pay an added fee for showers on top of this.
After reading others reviews and upon viewing the shower facilities it was an easy decision for us to pass and use our own shower in our camper.

We’ve travelled around many campsites and this is the only site where we haven’t seen any staff actively maintaining the site and during our 5 day stay we never once seen the toilets cleaned or shut for cleaning as many other sites do. The fact there wasn’t even toilet roll was enough to tell us that they aren’t checked on a regular basis throughout the day.

There is no wi-Fi available as advertised either.

The positives for this stay would be the lovely park located right next to the site and that it has a bus stop right outside the main gate, other than that the site didn’t add anything extra to the family holiday.

In all honestly we were really disappointed that it’s the most expensive site we’ve ever paid for and was one of the most disappointing. We’ve stayed in premium camps located next to london with extremely modern facilities, no extra charges and at half the price of this one.

Up to date information/photos is needed for this site and perhaps a review of the pricing structure or at least a plan to put some of the money back into the facilities for the customers to make their stay more enjoyable.

Response from Camac Valley, General Manager at Camac Valley Tourist Caravan and Camping Park
Responded 21 Apr 2023
Dear Guest, Thanks for the review. It has been known to rain here on the odd occasion that might explain things being wet. Sometimes the birds can get at the bins and pull rubbish about. This is of course always addressed. From your comments its obvious you did not engage with the staff. The laundry at reception was open during your stay and the main Service Block was closed that's why it was not being cleaned regularly as it was not in use also the WiFi is only available at reception. Thanks, Reso

Brilliant site. We were down for the Rugby. We had a hard standing pitch which was quite private with hedges but off. You pick your own. A garden for kids to play on safely. Tap for fresh water and drain for grey water if you have a hose. Or there is a Bay Area on way out to empty grey water and fill up fresh water. Safe site, kids play park too. Bus stop right outside the entrance which goes to Dublin number 69 every hour and takes approx 45mins. Coins only accepted. Or a taxi into Dublin City to St Stephens green is around €25. From near Aviva Stadium a taxi is €45 back but this was later 11pm! Definitely be back and will recommend to our customers.

The campsite is well laid out with pitches being separated by hedges. Each area has electicity and water in the section we stayed in. The toilets and showers were fine, but you had to pay for the showers - I think this was 1 Euro or it could have been that you had to buy a token for that price. There is a bus stop outside the campsite which goes into Dublin. On the campsite information sheet, it says the bus leaves at 10:30am and takes 40 minutes. It actually leaves the bus depot at 10:30am and arrives at the campsite bus stop at 10:52, but it gets busy, so do arrive early to join the queue. The bus was already pretty full and we had to stand most of the way. The journey took just over an hour. We didn't do any of the activities as we were only there one full day and spent it in Dublin. I think they take place in the Corkagh park.
