As there are no recent reviews on this place I was really unsure what to expect.
However all uncertainty was put to ease on arrival.
What a lovely site! We chose to stay in a 2 person lodge (safari tent) and we were really pleasantly surprised. This tent had a comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a proper shower! And a well equipped kitchen which had everything you needed to be able to cook a meal! We chose to take our gas bbq with us as we had a large veranda which we could use. Behind the site is a spectacular beach which seems to go on forever! With very easy access. Didn’t use the onsite restaurant but it was ALWAYS full! The site itself was a mixture of Caravans tents and campervan sit was very well kept and extremely clean. Would 100% recommend staying here! Staff were very helpful!

Was ok. We had a good pitch. You will need a drill if you have a tent- it's very rocky.
Wash blocks clean, shop is very expensive; ok for daily bread and that's it.
Good proximity for beach.
Bad points are that every day you had a drunken persons speed around the campsite, playing music and honking the horn. Not sure why but it was bloody annoying and if the kids had just gone to bed, they were awake again!! Why this was done was beyond me.
Not sure whether I would Go back- especially as the toll on to the il de Rae costs another €16 that I'm unsure if value added.
Be sure to take a bike and trailer so you can get to the supermarket!!

Hello, thank you for reviewing our campsite. The events you describe above do have a logic explanation. In July and August we have a team of entertainers, they have a different program every evening (live music, dancing, karaoke...) so they go on a tour of the site just before on the little electric car just to let people know what's on after. We haven't got a bar or a night club so any music or noise comes to an end around 11 pm at the latest. Hoping to see you again some time.

This was our first visit to île de Ré and so we were unsure of where to stay and what Campsite to book but our choice to stay here was the right one. Our pitch was on the beach and although the pitches are a bit "iggledy piggledy" they are spacious and flexible. We usually book sites with a swimming pool for the kids but we didn't miss one in the slightest. We were aware that there is a bar next door to the site that you can pay to use their pool but we didn't feel the need to use it. With direct access, it took just two minutes to walk to the beautiful and uncrowded beach. Access to and around the site with our large outfit was reasonably good and the people in the surrounding pitches were all very friendly. It seems that there is a community of people of a variety of European countries who site their caravans and tents for months at a time and have done so for decades - lucky them! We experienced great surf (perfect for our children aged 7, 9 and 11), amazing oysters and beautiful sunsets. Planning on returning next year as 4 nights wasn't enough for us!

I don’t know about you, but when I book my holiday, especially when two families travel together, it’s essential to know where you are staying. With that in mind, we paid extra to secure cottages facing one other so we could sit out at night, put the children to bed and spend the evenings catching up with friends after a great day on the beach.
So when we checked in and found the accommodation was not as expected, opposite each other, which meant that we could not sit out knowing the children were safe and secure inside, we mentioned this to reception who told us with a nervous laugh that we were in the right cottage number that we had booked, but that the site had changed the site plan. You can’t fault honesty!
The point is we had taken our time to book our accommodation based on our specific requirement only to have it thrown back in our faces with little understanding of its impact on our holiday.
We have now tried talking with the manager Lucy about this, but we seem to miss her daily. Our friends have moved on, and we feel like no one cares about the issue this created and the impact on both families holidays!

My partner and I were meant to be staying here for a week. For medical reasons we thought we may need to change the dates. I called to check if this was possible and was told repeatedly on the 2 occasions I called to check if this was possible that we could do this. We therefore booked the surgery and then tried to rearrange the dates. After a few days of repeatedly calling I was then told we could not change the dates and I was misinformed. They acknowledged I was misinformed but unfortunately took no responsibility for this and we lost the money for the weeks holiday and can not rebook. This is an appalling way to treat people. I understand that we were given the wrong information but as this was given to us and we made arrangement accordingly I would have expected any good company to have honoured what they initially told us and not make us pay for their error. I am sad to have to write this review, the campsite looked beautiful and all the staff I spoke with were professional and kind.

If you are coming with a caravan or motor home avoid at all costs. Scrappy bit of land with no demarcation between pitches. No shade for most. Have to pay exorbitant amount for intranet and code not working . Sandaya site visited. First in the South of France a building site and this for campers awful.

bad points first,
before booking i asked if water was available on the pitch, i was told yes, when we arrived in our motorhome, there was no water available, we had to go out the camp site and onto a aires next door(literally next door so not far) to fill up with water and empty the waste water, luckily i took a water barrel with us, i managed to fill this up every day from the wash basin sinks, very slow process but i managed, slow water pressure on a press tap took about 15mins each day to fill the barrel. just very disappointed that no water was available unless you left the site, not good for motorhomes with attached awnings. Pitch was very sandy, i tried to put the MH on the ramps but just sank in the sand, in the end had to have a week with MH not level.
the above is all i can moan about, everything else was bang on, location, showers, toilets, staff was all good, i would go back and i would recommend to friends

We have stayed here for the last three years and have enjoyed it each time. We dont use all the facilites such as the pool as we prefer the beach and cook for oursleves rather than use the restuarant but all seem busy and popular. The pitches are large albeit sandy so a mat is helpful to avoid walking sand into your van or rig. The loo and shower blocks are very modern and clean as are the dishwashing facilites which include a fish/shellfish cleaning area. The site has direct acccess on to the beach and is handy for the cycle paths into the town of Le Bois Plage which has a food market to die for and for St Martin. There is an Aire right next door if you arrive after hours as we have done and checked in the next day. The reception staff are friendly and multi lingual. We keep coming back and will do so again.

This is a really clean and friendly campsite with options for all types of campers, including having it's own reasonably priced mobile homes. Internet provision is free but it is very limited. I would have preferred to pay and have a signal available in my mobile home rather than having to go to reception to use, and at times even this failed. There is no pool, but with the beach next door it is not essential.

Oddly Île de Ré was extremely busy and we tried a couple of sites before getting the last motorhome pitch here. I say pitch - more like a small lay by on a steep narrow track. This site is excellent for beach access and staff are fine but it’s very sandy with few tarmac roadways. The MH pitches are tiny and crammed together. Toilets average with no loo paper. We soon moved on to much better site.

Hi there are push taps for water bottles or bowsers around the site but you fill up on the aire next door. They give you a token for free access and if you arrive late you can stay the night before. We stayed on 257 and have stayed on 256 on previous years. Its a row of pitches opposite the wendy house things pagotels they are called just below one of the shower and washing blocks. It is a good wide pitch. Its a short walk from the beach access. If going in Aug there is often entertainment in the marquee at the top of the site but it finishes around 11.30. If you have kids or teenagers you may prefer the site 5mins up the road Interlude Sunile which has a bigger shop and bar restaurant. We preferred Les Amis which is quieter now we don't have Kids with us. Hope this helps.
Hello,
Dog are not allowed on the beaches of the Bois Plage from April to September. It is allowed on some beaches in Ars en Ré.
But early in the morning and late in the evening people do walk their dogs on the beach of the Bois Plage despite the reglementation.
