We have just had a fabulous week as a family of 4 with kids aged 8 and 14.
The campsite is well situated close to the gorgeous town of la flotte as well as cycle paths. We hired bikes for the week from the site for a very reasonable price, locks, helmets and baskets all provided. The site has one heated pool with 2 slides which were very popular with all the kids! Our kids didn't make it to kids club during the day as we were mostly out and about but the kids team doing the evening discos and activities were brilliant- so enthusiastic and warm, consistently bringing a great energy every day!
There is a snack bar on site where you can get pizzas, burgers and waffles but there are restaurants all over the island.
The cabins are clean and modern. We drove here so brought our own linen and towels. I'd advise bringing your own pillows if you have the space. It was a very quiet site at night and there was a nice general buzz without it being overwhelming during the whole stay.
Only downsides are having to take an inventory of the cabin on arrival- not the first thing you want to be doing after a journey. Also a bit of a steep cleaning charge. But these are minor points and would not put us off coming here again.
The island is beautiful. The local area near the site is lovely but everywhere is an easy bike ride away. There are free buses also but we never used them. There is a market every day in la flotte so it's easy to stock up supplies.
A lovely stay, would recommend!

Dear holidaymaker, Thank you for your detailed and positive feedback ! It means a lot to us to know that your family holiday at Les Peupliers was "fabulous". We are happy that our location close to the lovely village of La Flotte and the cycle paths contributed to the success of your holiday. Our bike hire service and heated swimming pool seem to have been a success, especially with your children, which we are delighted about. Our team places a premium on friendliness and closeness to our campers, and to see that you have been carried away by our enthusiasm is the highest compliment. The island of Ré is an enchanting place and we are proud to be part of your fond memories here. Many thanks for your recommendation. We had a fabulouls time here. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Taos cabin with its own pool which was outstanding. Very clean and modern with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Really good private outdoor seating/deck area too which we made great use of. The area around our cabin was beautifully landscaped. The main pool and communal areas we well maintained and enjoyable. The food was average but the opening times not great for early July. Also we arrived in the middle of the day and had to wait 2 hours for our keys as receiption was closed. Overall a great location and fab accommodation.

We are currently staying on this campsite and I have to say that it is superb. We have 3 young children (4, 2, and 14 months) and they are having a great time. The site is quite small but has a lovely pool and brilliant play areas for the children. The site is very well laid out and the mobile home we are staying in is fantastic.
The site is very well located just outside La Flotte. I can highly recommend this campsite to anyone travelling with children.

We have just spent 2 weeks at this campsite as a family with 2 young children aged 3 and 11 months.
The campsite is small, personable and friendly. The pool is great with two slides and jacuzzi. Kids LOVED it. It is a very French site so depends what you want from your holiday. It ws very quiet inth evening with not very much enterainment which was fine for us, but not if youre looking for a lively site.
The Staff were amazing and even helped me out by driving me and my son to the hospital on the first Sunday of or holiday as he was unwell.I think it's a great sit for young kids. My 3 year old loved the park, trampoline and bouncy castle.
Great location for La Flotte and cycle paths. we hired bikes for 2 weeks.
Only negative for us was we found the whole island very expensive. The local beer in campsite bar 7 euros so we didn't go there often, but everywhere was this price. Need a lot of money saved to go here on holiday. Supermarkets, markets, restaurants, bike hire and taxis all very pricey!!! Weather very mixed for late June. Had a lot of rainy days. As a whole a great find.

This site consists of over 200 pitches of which only about 20 are touring, the rest being chalets. The touring pitches are all located at the far end of the site. Access is via a narrow single track road through the chalet section with parked cars encroaching either side, it is also two way! The pitches are minute, difficult without a motor mover. We had to park our car remote from the pitch. We have a 2 berth and small awning and struggled to get room for the aquaroll alongside. The site is noisy with entertainment late into the evening. We were located directly facing the shower block, from which there is noise from late afternoon through to midnight. The facilities are basic and in need of refurbishment. Only one wash cubicle was in service. We were regularly woken by a group of young men showering noisily at 3.00am. Eventually one night I went to remonstrate with them, they grabbed their clothes and disappeared half naked into the bushes, I'll refrain from offering an explanation why this happened. Wifi on site is 20 euros per week. The noise was so bad we left early with no refund, I would not consider staying here again, just not my sort of site.It is really a site for people with young children.

We stayed here for four days in July to give our 2 children a flavour of a European campsite. We had been at a villa the previous week so the contrast may have coloured my view in terms of space and privacy. However my wife loved the campsite. It was very well run and the staff were very nice and helpful. It's not too big, so you are not overawed by a massive site. The pool was fine for the kids, but we mostly went to the nearby fabulous beaches. One drawback is that kids are allowed to go crazy on their bikes and despite driving at 3mph, I almost knocked down 2 children within 4 days. Outside of that, the campsite has a great location just a couple of minutes from La Flotte and the island's great cycle network.... and anyway- you're on Ile de Re!!

A lovely campsite, ideal for families with young children. The heated pool was the star attraction for our children who wanted to spend the entire week in there! There was also a football/basket court, beach volleyball, table tennis, pétanque and a playground. Never a dull hour.
The accommodation was cosy, we took a cabin for 6 people, even though we were only 4, and we were very glad that we didn't have to use the foldout bed which would have reduced the indoor manoeuvring space to 1x1m²! However, it was clean and comfortable... although we took our own pillows, and again, were glad we did.
La Flotte is a truly charming little port, which is 20min walk, although there is a free shuttle bus which picks up from outside the campsite, which is helpful if you've got heavy shopping bags. The beach in la Flotte is lovely and only 15min away. However, it does disappear entirely at high tide. You have been warned!
We hired bikes from the campsite, which was compatible to prices from other rental places on the island (if not slightly more costly). This is a great option allowing you to properly explore the beautiful Ile de Ré. However, I would advise you check the tire pressure before leaving as ours all needed air.

Dear philjrj, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this pleasant review! We are truly delighted to see that you much appreciated your stay in our campsite, and that your children had a great time thanks to our swimming pool and activities! Indeed, our establishment is situated to 800 meters from the beach and La Flotte-en-Ré, one of the most beautiful French villages. It is a pleasure to hear that you liked this place, also that you took the time to discover the island by bike, thanks to our rent service! We would be very happy to welcome you again. Moreover, you seemed to be satisfied about the quality of your accommodation. You must know that it is possible for you to book the same one (subject to availability!). Or a new one of course: we would be happy to help you choosing the pitch that will suit you the best. Are you thinking about a new stay for next year? For your information, if you book your stay for the 2020 season right now, you can take advantage of attractive promotions! See you soon, Virginie, Les Peupliers’ Manager

We stayed in a family cabin (3 bedrooms) with 4 adults and 2 children under 6. I knew the rooms would be cosy but they were perfect for their main purpose of sleeping. I had been apprehensive about cleanliness, assuming most people would clean it themselves, but it was spotless - and on check out staff members check for this.
The kitchen was well equipped - though if you have very little ones you might want to being your own plastic plates and cups.
The bathroom was a good size and the shower was powerful. There was always hot water.
The only thing lacking was air conditioning, but leaving the windows open at night was good enough. A bit sticky, but there are mosquito guards so at least we didn't get bitten.
The pool was great fun and my son hardly left the slide. Being August we expected it to be quite full and busy, but apart from one occasion there were always lounges and space in the pool.
The bar kitchen did decent food. We pre-ordered roast chicken one night and it was delicious.
We stayed for some evening entertainment. Despite everything being in French we still had a great time. Children's entertainment usually started at 8.30pm and then more general entertainment at 9.30pm. The soft play was close by so you could sit with a drink with the children having fun close by. Note, on the Friday night people booked tables for dinner during the entertainment, so worth doing the same.
La Flotte was about 15/20 min walk and was just lovely and relaxing. When the tide was out children search for cockles in the sand. There's a playground by the seafront restaurants too.
We'd definitely go back.

this is a really nice camping which is close to La Flotte ideally located. You can also walk to the beach which is around 800 meters away (this is a rock beach where you can do walking fishing). The camping has baby/kids clubs which is ideal. The swimming pool is heated with a nice area for the kids, however can get a bit cold if it is windy outside since it is not covered. In general the staff is friendly. However, 2 things that I would highlight is that the restaurant on the camping is very basic and that the shop is really small. You would probably end up going out for dinner and shopping. However, we would still consider going back there as the kids really enjoyed it.
