Friendly, welcoming and very personal service. Brilliant location, gorgeous town, easy parking. Cleanliness, warmth of room during minus temperatures cold spell of weather, great food on site. Simply fantastic and we hope to visit again soon. Only improvements could be better lighting in the room, perhaps a standard lamp would do it, and a bracket to hang the flexible shower...

Often when you are looking for a hotel that welcomes dogs your choices are limited and you are charged extra. This hotel is extremely comfortable, has tons of character, and has a park two minutes away where dogs can run freely. The owner is extremely helpful and the restaurant and bar were characterful and offered great food.

We booked in for 1 night only as we were driving up to St Malo. A great place to break the journey if you are driving up/down to the south of France or Spain. The patrons could not be more hospitable with excellent English. We dined 'd'hors' in the evening and both the menu and cuisine were, (ignore the chap...

Lovely position. Stayed for 2 days. Good menus well cooked and promptly served. Friendly efficient owners. Rooms clean and comfortable, if a bit sparse. Bathroom excellent, with prompt hot water. Staircase charming but not carpeted so audible if you go to bed early.

This is a really nice comfortable hotel. The food was excellent and the setting of the dining room very nice. Just a plain breakfast but adequate. Its a family run hotel and I just liked it because it is comfy and a great place to stay

We stayed here on the recommendation of a local and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our rooms were all individually styled and well laid out although not huge. The staff were welcoming and the food was of a high quality in the evening. We enjoyed ambling around the town and although this is a low key hotel with a main focus as...

We haven't stayed at the Coq d'Or because we live not too far away but often stop by for a beer on the terrace. A few weeks ago we enjoyed a great meal on a Saturday evening, again on the terrace which is the best place to be to enjoy some 'people-watching' Alexis and his wife are very welcoming and...

It didn't quite live up to the promise. The room was large but sparcely furnished with inexpensive items. The bed, surprisingly, gave us a good three nights' sleep. I say surprisingly because there are two grooves worn into the mattress, but hey, it was OK. Air conditioning functioned well for heating, as did the towel rail but be careful of...

We stayed in this hotel for a 4 night stay. Our room (No.5) was roomy, quiet and had air conditioning. The view from the window overlooked a passageway connecting streets and also rear terraces of houses backing onto the hotel - not an unpleasant site, very interesting to see the architecture and how the buildings have been increased in size...
