We absolutely loved Salers and Le Bailliage! We rented a mini suite for two nights in September 2016 and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room (room 14) was huge, with an upper level that contained a modern shower, tub, closet and separate bathroom. (Note that if you have trouble climbing stairs, you may want to choose another room.)... More

The room was adequate. Good bed and bathroom. Clean. Staff is very short on English, but we got by with basic French. Everyone very nice. Seems like a family operation as everyone takes an interest in making the stay ok. It was worrisome to us that the room lock required a key from the inside to lock and unlock. Room... More

The hotel is well located with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is particularly good and is recommended. Our dog was welcome and nearby there is plenty of space to let him run in a field. The rooms are OK and have unusual character. We had a family lunch in the restaurant which was good with excellent service.

Our first view of this hotel was a very pleasing one. Set in beautiful flower filled gardens with its own private parking facility, the only fly in the ointment was that no one seemed to speak English, so my fledgling French came to the fore, and I have to say everyone was very patient with me. Our room was of... More

The hotel part is pretty new and very creative with lots of nice details. I absolutely would recommend it. The view on the landscape is very nice. There is also a garden with some toy for kids. From the hotel you are in the center of the village in no time and its a good place to start for a... More

Fourth or fifth visit, so I obviously do like this place a lot. Though there are sometimes some discrepancies . Nothing serious obviously. The owners are absolutely charming the food can be amazing, and Salers and region is to die for . Try to get room 6, 10 or 38 . The owners really do go all out when refreshing... More

This hotel which is situated at the edge of salers (easy if you are with the car), is correct, nothing more or less. Correct pricing. It seems to be family run, what makes it a bit more friendly. The only remark i would have, is that the breackfast buffet is messy!!!! If you are a bit later you will find... More

We stayed three nights at this hotel on a half-board (demi-pension) basis. It is ideally placed to walk around the attractive medieval village of Salers and for road trips into the Cantal hills and countryside. We had a large room on the second floor which is also marketed as a Bridal Suite (see official photo) but that would be pushing... More

Stayed overnight on a tour around the Massif Central. This is a great hotel, the room we had was recently renovated and was bright, nicely decorated with comfortable bed and fittings, bathroom was first class. Enjoyed an evening meal at the restaurant which was again very good. Friendly and efficient service from the staff, food quality and price was good.... More
