We can honestly say that this was the best B&B we have ever stayed in! We were in the 'Yellow' room which had a comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space, a settee and was very quiet. No television which was bliss. There was also a family room with a log fire and tea & coffee making facilities. We also liked the fact that they put some garden chairs out for us so we could enjoy the view with a relaxing cup of tea at the end of our exertions. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable on the area, the walks and restaurants and even provided little easy to read plans so we wouldn't get lost on the volcanoes. The breakfast was superb because apart form the crusty bread, orange juice and fruit, everything was bio and home-made so we had a selection of jams, yogurt, the local cheese and every morning a different cake to try. Covid wise we noticed how all precaution were taken with hand gel in the room and in the dining room, a meticulous cleaning routine and although we did not wear masks in the house we all practiced social distancing. …
The two guys who run this chambre de hote go out of their way to make you feel special and so welcome and the fact that Yann also has a wine outlet attached means you never have to shop for wine again! Freshly cooked cake, yoghurt made in house, choice of about five home-made jams and local honey, fruits in season, makes Bed and Breakfast a whole new experience. And the view from the garden at sunset is breathtaking - no TV necessary, athough wi-fi is available.
An excellent all round experience. The previous reviews seemed too good to be true but in fact they were spot on. First class, exceptionally clean, comfortable and friendly. Fantastic location. À bientôt.
You only have to read all the previous reviews to know that this place is a gem in a gem of a medieval small town situation with wonderful views from their garden and close to lovely countryside and the mountains of the Auvergne. Hospitality second to none, food, comfort, Yann and Yves think of everything and produce what you want even before you know that's what you want! We're sure to be back.........
What can I say? All the other glowing reviews have said it all. Wonderful hosts, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Helped me to plan each days outings, drives or walks, with good recommendations and suggested routes, using the maps available in the breakfast room. A little wine shop in same building is also run by Yann and Yves and they will happily give advice. We bought a bottle one day and Yann hurried off, returning with a tray of cheese, biscuits, wine and glasses and installed us in the garden outside, overlooking the valley where we were entranced to hear the tinkling of cow bells in the valley. Later in the day we went outside again to finish the wine and Yann came again with some freshly made goodies for us to eat. Just wonderful. At breakfast at the communal table there was a choice of about six different home made jams, local cheeses, bread, yoghurt and a cake - freshly made - each day different - apricot clafoutis, orange cake etc. Good coffee and we chose to drink ours from the large traditional bowls, instead of cups. The WiFi worked well. Plenty of hot water, immaculately clean shower, comfortable bed. We parked near the building while unloading and loading bags, then parked in the free parking lot at the end of the street. In mid June, we always found a spot. The village itself is charming, with plentry of choice for an evening meal. We also found the local grocery store for daytime snacks. A memorable 4 night stay…
