Would love to go back there - fantastic setting, quiet, beautiful and very friendly B+B. We had the private 'Artiste' apartment next to the house (and part of it) where there are also 2 bedrooms you can let. Our flat was gorgeous, very well furnished and spotlessly clean - it was spacious for 2 people and had a kitchen, bathroom,...

Nathalie has created the ideal home away from home for those of us who struggle with French but still want to enjoy a cozy French way of life. If you come here with no plans she will be delighted to point you in directions that you prefer, and there are many choices very close by. The location was ideal -...

Le Lys de Castelnaud is a cozy bed and breakfast with a lot of personality. Some of this personality comes from the hostess with the mostest, owner Nathalie, who acts as travel guide, entertainment, and friend. To match the extraordinary view of Chateau de Castelnaud from our hotel room's window, Nathalie and her husband have created a medieval throwback that...

Lys de Castelnaud is located close to many wonderful castles, prehistoric sites, markets, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, balloon rides, and many things especially for children. Parking is private and very accessible. Nathalys and her husband are perfect hosts, welcoming guests, spending time with each to find out what their interests are, making recommendations and providing lots of options. The porch faces...

I was completely charmed by my first trip to this picturesque chambre d'hote. My upstairs room was cool, spacious, and beautifully decorated in the medieval style. I had my own bathroom and a lovely view of Castelnaud. The breakfast was particularly fun and informative. Nathalie, the owner, was always lively and engaging. She helped the various guests feel at home...

Our stay at Le Lys de Castlenaud was wonderful! Nathalie did a superb job of making us feel welcome at her Medievil B & B. Her kind, personable nature ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She even helped us converse with the French speaking guests. Her advice with the local sightseeing, excursions and markets greatly enhanced...

We (older married couple) stayed in the "Artist Guesthouse". It is very roomy and a great value. Nathalie is a wonderful, conscientious, easy to talk to, very organized and friendly host. Her English is very good. The breakfast is very good. We ate outside in June. Great view. The location is good as a home base for Dordogne highlights. Nathalie...

We were here for the third time for an extended (5 days) stay in the gite, this time with our daughter who stayed upstairs in the "view" room chambre d'hote, and she was thoroughly delighted with her stay as well. Lys de Castelnaud is especially suited to Americans who sometimes get intimidated by the more formal, even frosty, impression that...

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is an amazing location in Southern France. We had the first floor apartment (which included a kitchen) and it worked out perfectly. Nathalie Charbonnier is a wonderful and charming hostess/owner at this B&B. There are so many things to do in the Dordogne Valley, including gardens, chateaus, prehistoric paintings in caves, and kayaking...

This was our favorite stop on our travels through France by far! From the immaculate and home-like setting to the personal and gracious accommodations, Natalys made sure our stay in Dordogne was beyond memorable. She was continuously in touch from the moment I contacted her to reserve our stay to make sure our arrival was stress-free and everything was taken...
