This is a delightful and historical place in the middle of nowhere, immersed in nature. Beautiful walks can be made, kajaks can be rented, the nearby quaint village Mathildedal has some decent restaurants. Service is friendly. Rooms are good, even though mattresses and pillows could be better. The best thing we did here was to rent out the private lakeside sauna on one night. If you only do sauna and some skinny-dipping in the lake, 2 hours will suffice; if you use the bbq at the same time, which I recommend, you should book for min. 3 hours. There is a good supermarket a 20-min drive away where you can buy food & drinks that you can stock in the refrigerator provided on site; the hotel owner will provide the rest. Fantastic experience.

Really a wonderful place. Really traditional with fantastic nature around and owned by a very warm and hospital couple, we were really impressed. The main building we've stayed at really felt like stepping back in time, great experience will return, Panos

This place was well worth the money. Very beautiful and peaceful nature surrounds the old ironworks. The room we stayed in was also excellent! The only problem was that this place was hard to find. I mean in my opinion Kirjakkalan Ruukkikylä doesn't advertise itself enough. It was pure luck that we came upon this place on the internet. At least the website could be better so that more people would find this beautiful place.

We stayed one night in this nature beautiful place. Our apartment was like my grandma's home, clean and cosy with räsymatto-carpets. Staff was very friendly and breakfast good. If you want to visit ruukki-places Teijo, Matildedal and Fiskars this is an excellent place to stay.

It is a "typical" but also at the same time very nice as a place to visit. The historical houses are in pretty good condition. Cottages I did not use this time but they seemed to be nice. My main interest was the forest to the north and especially the camp/bbg site less than a km away. The whole area around is beatiful especially in early summer and autumn with "ruska".

If you like any of Astrid Lindgren's books then this is a place to stay. We rented one half of a red and white wooden cottage with one bedroom plus a living room with two additional beds. It was all very clean and very well maintained. Booking breakfast is optional for € 8,- but it is truly worth it.

We stayed in Kjallman which is a two bedroom apartment with a kitchen and bathroom. It was beautifully updated yet retained the feel of a 19th century home. Quiet, clean, and very relaxing. The breakfast was wonderful and the caretakers warm and welcoming.

Good spot close to Teijo national park and extremely nicely kept area. The cabins/rooms seem to be tidy with basic services like a shared kitchen. The breakfast was decent value for money. Closest restaurants or grocery stores are some distance away. The resort has its own small "beach", so if the lake water is warm enough, it's very easy to take a refreshing swim.

We have the suite for two days 8-10 July 2016. Eva, Risto and all other staff was very kind and helpful. Both innside/outside you can find many carefully planned details. Breakfast was delicious. The location is close to the Teijo national park, where we have an 20 min walk to a view point

Spent one night here with a group of guys on a mountainbike trip. Perfect location for exploring Teijo with trails starting just behind the property. Basic, clean mökki style accommodation with comfy beds. Friendly owner with useful local knowledge. The breakfast was really good value with awesome homemade rhubarb juice and jam.
