We had a week family holiday staying at the hotel at Christmas 2022. The hotel was excellent, in particular the spa facilities and restaurant. It is not the cheapest but we felt that it was actually good value for money and worth the cost. The service overall was excellent. All staff were very friendly and spoke English (in fact everything was bilingual). We had rooms close to reception and although there was some occasional corridor noise from passing guests, this wasn't an issue. The rooms were spacious and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is split across different buildings and several floors, but it was easy to get around with several lifts. There were 2 spa areas (one for over 16s only). They were both very good, spotless and very relaxing spaces and great to use after skiing. The pool was not designed for fitness swimming though. We had a half board deal. Breakfast was a substantial buffet with a full range of options. Dinner was 5 courses, with a buffet for appetizers and the rest was waiter served with a choice of mains. The quality was excellent and we were allocated the same table for each day in a quiet area. Our waiter (Goran) was brilliant and always made us feel welcome. One comment was that water is not provided at dinner and was expensive (so we took our own).
The hotel is a short flat walk (c 5 mins) from the ski lift. We used the ski hire and store next to the lift which meant we didn't have to carry the equipment and there is a supermarket only a short walk further.
We enjoyed our stay so much we are already thinking of returning.

This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed it .Everything about it is simply class .Location is excellent with easy access out front to ski area and also out back to town centre . There is an upmarket feel about this hotel . The dinning experience is wonderful with 5 star food and beautiful soft piano music played in background .The service is excellent and their traditional outfits a joy to behold. Nightly quality entertainment was icing on the cake. Add in two wonderful spa's and it is no wonder guest give this hotel five stars .well done Hotel Salzburghof. Ollie whyte

Wonderful staff throughout the Hotel, who worked tirelessly as an oiled team having their guests as their top priority!
The policy of sitting at the same table in the restaurant all week, was not at all to our liking, even though we had booked a half board stay. The menu was international, we would much more have preferred an Austrian one. The cutlery at the buffet was unfortunately often dirty and sticky. We used handkerchiefs whenever approaching it.
Surprisingly the large hotel only seemed to have guests from Sweden and Finland. They seemed to travel by bus daytime and fall to bed or go out thereafter.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean although we missed hooks in the bathrooms to hang up towels etc.
Overall a pleasant stay, perfectly located and we hope for this very historic hotel to be able to greet many more generations to come!

I have stayed here many times, and had a drink in the old bar many more. It has an old fashioned style, as do its various rooms, which feels just right in this ski resort which was once the most fashionable in Europe (see my travel article in the Daily Telegraph.) However, the iconic photos on the wall aren't only of past guests. I walked out of the bathroom where there is a photo of a Four Weddings And A Funeral-era Hugh Grant, to bump into present day Hugh Grant in the bar just afterwards!

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Salzburgerhof. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times and the hotel itself is beautiful. Our rooms were generously sized and everything was exceptionally clean. We were a party of 4 with 3 skiers, I was not skiing for health reasons but was able to make the most of the spa facilities and the well equipped gym, which I generally had to myself! As two of us are vegetarians we were concerned about the food on offer but we needn’t have worried - every evening meal had a vegetarian option that was well considered and delicious (not an afterthought as often happens) and the breakfast buffet was superb.

The proximity of the main ski lift worked well for the skiers and I enjoyed so great walks in the valley - can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

Everything you would want a ski and leisure hotel to be - good service, attentive staff, food good, great rooms and spa, nice spaces and ambience EXCEPT terrible band in the evening. The same band in the bar most evenings pushing out loud, very loud, classics, with no tempering of volume. They were obviously appreciated by some, but so many people disappeared after dinner it couldn’t be everyone liked them. And every evening?

And by the way, at tea time the musac was also loud, Blume controlled by the barman.

Vast place but great experience: lovely friendly vib, excellent food with reasonable variety and helpful staff. I had a spacious room but others I saw were very small. Location is also great, probably one of the closest hotels to the ski lifts. If I have one criticism it would be how close the tables in the dining room are to one another. There were unoccupied tables close to us yet we were sitting next to people at either side.

We went here for dinner with a family. 40 euros per person and little kids for free. For a 5 course dinner, with a great buffet and several main courses to choose from. Besides very friendly service l. The hotel has a great atmosphere with live music and a playing corner for kids with loads of toys.
A special experience in a special place.

Had a very pleasant evening meal as a non-resident. Table d'hote with limited choices but well done. I thought the tables were set far too close together for the present times. There appeared to be enough room to give us all a bit more space. The hotel itself is a nice building to walk into with plenty of fine period things to look at. A building with some serious history.

1) I do not know, but call or mail the hotel, they will know for sure 2) There are maps on the hotel. There are several idependent guides if you want them 3) The walking trails are very good, and People stay to them and are not destroying the nature outside, included the flowers. There is a great lift to use, if want.
