Beautiful grounds in lush tropical garden, next door to the action of Nature Beach. Supposed to be a 4 star resort, but ... toilet and aircon in desperate need of renovation; breakfast could be better; receptionist doesn’t speak English; sauna and massage closed down. Grossly overpriced in high season, just ok in low season.

Based on the pictures from the website and trip advisor reviews, I was expecting a beautiful, exotic resort. The service was excellent. You can eat all three meals there. Drinks by the pool...The pool and views of the Gulf were beautiful. You can tell the grounds were beautiful at one point. Now the grounds and rooms are not very well kept. My first room smelled of mold. I didn’t see any in the room, but you can see where the walls had been washed. I eventually found the mold in my bathroom. I requested another room which they provided promptly. The insects were extremely bad and I’m from an area that has a lot of insects. It stormed one evening while there and we lost power. It took 30 minutes to an hour for them to get the generator working. The beach was rocky and dirty. Entering the water from the resort is difficulty. There are barnacles on the rocks. My children played one day in the water. The next day they didn’t want to play as they had cuts all over there feet.

Beautiful property, Great staff and great location. You will love this place. Great beach, great pool and well kept grounds. 5 minutes walk to lonely beach town. Great restaurants and shopping. Dang seafood close by is so good. You get to pick out your own seafood and watch them cook it.

I reviewed this hotel in November 16, returned in May 17 when the beach was very rocky and have just spent another few days there in February 18. The beach was clear of rocks this visit .... its an annual phenomenon that sees the large weighty rocks washed up onto the shore for a couple of the months of the year. Sadly our May 17 visit suffered somewhat through this although the hotel staff did their best to maintain a trail of sandbags across the 5 or 6 yards of rock at the sea edge. No such troubles this time! The beach was glorious ... lovely soft sand with not a single rock in sight! The management and staff of this hotel do seem to care. The rooms are well maintained, the public areas and beach are tended several times a day and when needed any assistance or advice is quickly offered. So once again I recommend this lovely hotel on its lovely beach. Mainly Russian guests it seems, but all the staff speak pretty good English. If you're thinking of going, make email contact with any queries or requests - I'm sure they'd be only too pleased to help.

I have long holiday in Thailand .and we have shortly time decided to stayed at Bhumiyama beach resort with my wife The front receptionish both of big smile , friendly and courteous and the hotel rooms are very nice and comfortable. The hotel's well located on good view There are also good reasonably priced dining and bar options within the hotel and a great pool area. I think next trip I will come back here.

Bhumiyama: lovely garden grounds, great pool area and fronts lonely beach 👍 rooms are dated and maintenance a little shabby 👌 Our hot water system broke but it was attended to quickly. Found front reception staff happy but not terribly helpful. We booked the honeymoon package and had to request (more than once) the items in the package 👎 e.g. 💐 🍾🥂 🍍🍇 Service generally extremely slow and the resort did not honour advertised specials e.g. happy hour. Food and drinks were 🤑🤑🤑 compared to adjoining resorts. Mosquitoes and discovering mouse poop in the room was not great 💩😳😴

I am at somewhat of a loss to understand how this place justifies its prices and star rating. Tired & not really up to competing with the neighbouring places. The worst part of the beach frontage in my view

A beautiful hotel at Lonely Beach, very well taken care of. Bhumiyama even have hummingbirds in their garden! We stayed in a seaview bungalow, which was lovely. Had the sea just 20 m outside the door. Breakfast was good. Quite plain, but had everything we needed. Would have wished for a larger variation of bread (not only toast and white buns), and also more vegetarian hot dishes, but these are just details. The location is great, just by the beach with turquoise and crystal clear water. Bhumiyama has also a large pool, with a jacuzzi section. If you spend the afternoon at the hotel area, you'll get a snack with fruit and a cold towel. The restaurant isn't exciting, but you could easily walk to the "city centre" with a lot of bars and restaurants. Or take a taxi for 50 baht/pax, the ride takes 3-4 minutes. Don't miss Aire Beach Café for lunch, just a couple of minutes walk from Bhumiyama (to the left when facing the ocean, you'll have to walk through Siam Hut bungalows, but don't get scared, just keep walking). They serve you fresh smoothie bowls and great coffee. Nature Rocks is also good, which is the neighbor restaurant, just to the right when facing the ocean. Good wi-fi. There's no gym, but we went to BB gym "in town", which was good. The only disadvantage of Bhumiyama is their neighbors, especially Siam Hut who are destroying the atmosphere by playing ridiculously high techno music every Friday night. Too bad, but not Bhumiyama's fault.

We arrived with limited expectations to be honest. Sometimes star ratings for hotels on the quieter Thai islands don't quite tally with international standards. But we'd recommend this hotel for those seeking a quiet getaway with an idyllic beach to spend your day on. We booked the hotel direct as that was by some way the cheapest option and also booked the hotel transfer service from Trat airport - the careful driver was waiting for us. 2500 THB for the trip so not cheap. It was a lengthy overall journey for us really with flights from Phuket to BKK and onwards to Trat. 9.5 hours door to door. The hotel vehicle on the day anyway had a broken air con system so really the trip here was quite challenging ... albeit beautiful!! And a bit scary as well as there are some severe hills and curves to be negotiated! Reception and check in was fine with the usual cold drink and towel. Our room was an upper floor Seaview Deluxe .... which was fine with outdoor bathroom and shower and a pleasant balcony area which did indeed have a fantastic Seaview. We were around 20 metres from the beach. Just us probably, but the outdoor bathroom became a bit scary as it seemed a meeting place for local mozzies! Also we had a scary encounter with a wild monkey who leapt onto our balcony and stole the bunch of bananas we were eating. In hindsight a superb close encounter .... but at the time it was pretty scary. So a pleasant well maintained room with attentive housekeeping staff. No shortage of towels and 4 bottles of complimentary water daily. The hotel land in front of the beach has plenty of sun beds with not a sniff of a scramble although we suspected the hotel was running at a lowish occupancy. Same with the two adjoining pools - rarely used by anybody in our 4 days here. There are a couple of young beach attendants who will place towels on the beds and position parasols for you - top marks for this group! The beach is actually a lot narrower than we expected. Maybe a yard at full tide and 5 yards at low tide. Quite a quick drop to tip toe depth - maybe 10 yards out. Lovely beach though!!! We didn't eat in the restaurant preferring to walk the half a mile into the village where there are plenty of food options and plenty of bars to choose from. We were travelling with two other couples and we seemed to spend most of our evening timing with 'Mr Chang' and 'Mr Singha' lol at the excellent and atmospheric Stonefree bar - you've got to try it. Lovely owners who were so genuine and welcoming. We always asked them to get us a local taxi back to the hotel as even in the dark the cars and bikes pelt up and down the road often at stupid speeds. To summarise I think this is probably the best 3/4 star option on Lonely Beach for several reasons - its service, its ideal beachfront location and its convenience to local facilities. We'd certainly come back if we return to Koh Chang!!
