Built in 1732 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Prospect Hill is a beautiful plantation house with gorgeous grounds. We visited in February, and one can only imagine what it's like in spring and summer. We have wanted to stay here for decades, and only being 15 miles east of Charlottesville, a town we frequent often, we...

This lovely, historic bed & breakfast has everything you'd want in for a getaway: extremely comfortable accommodations; romantic setting (including wood burning fireplaces); gorgeous grounds (including walking trail & pond); creature comforts (in ground pool, hammocks & bar on property); and close to historical sites such as Monticello, Ashlawn Highlands and Montpelier, local wineries, and shopping & dining in nearby...

This was a weekend purchased from one of the discount sites and for that rate, it was worth the trip. I would not pay the $350+ per night they ask in prime season, though the property is lovely and very historical. We stayed in the Overseers cottage, built in 1720. The pictures on the website with the white walls, leather...

Prospect Hill Plantation Inn is a wonderful historic Bed & Breakfast located about 12 miles from Charlottesville, VA off I-64 with easy access off the Interstate.. Rachael the Innkeeper is very nice, welcoming and responsive to phone inquiries. We stayed in Uncle Guys Cottage and its historic significance to the plantation was impressive. Complete with an in-room working fireplace, this...

We were greeted warmly in the parking lot by one of the resident cats. The owner quickly checked us in and gave us a tour along with the history of the property. Our room had a fireplace which we used both nights (use at your own risk is the warning, but if you are sensible and don't leave the fire...

Our stay in one of the charming, historical cottages was nice, but it was very overpriced. The plantation grounds were not well maintained (rotting barns, trashy campsite visible from the walking trail), the chimney was not working well (smoke filled the room, all of our clothing reeked of smoke), and the bed was very uncomfortable. After a sleepless night, we...

We first visited Prospect Hill 20 years ago. The property is as beautiful as I remembered but the best change is the food! Our dinner was outstanding! Reasonably priced and beautifully presented. Breakfast the next morning was just as good! A step back in time but close to everything.

Prospect Hill oozes with history, what a trip through Virginia is all about. The son of the then owner, who served under Stonewall Jackson and participated in almost every major battle fought in the state during the Civil War, and his newly freed slave walked barefoot from Appomattox to Prospect Hill after the surrender in 1865. Today, as you stand...

My sister and I stayed in Uncle Guy's Loft. it was very cute and cozy. The place is amazing and owners are very nice. They gave us the tour of the place and little history as well. We got there too late to try the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was out of this world. Presentation, taste, staff etc....

We just returned from our fabulous getaway at Prospect Hill! It was so wonderful that we hated to leave and can't wait to return. Everything is perfect: from the meticulously maintained property, to the quaint and historic cottages, to the welcoming staff...and then there is the on-site restaurant. It's the best meal we've had in the area, and that is...
